Oh Cass he looks so much better. I am glad this is finally getting better. He was so sad looking at Gladstone and I know you have been very worried about him. Looking forward to seeing him, Lulu and little Cheekie on Saturday

Hope its not the same as my Basenji Boy just had. It swelled up in the same place then went down. It went up again last week then burst leaving a hole the size of a ten cent coin under his right ear. Took him to the vet and it ws an absess and he is now on antibiotic with the hope that the hole will close. Good news though it is clearing beautifully and already closing up. He has to wear a collar thing though as he was scratching at it. Good luck

It can still colour up yet. I sold one of my Hav puppies as a pet because she hadn't coloured up as much as i liked but by the time she was 12 weeks and ready to go the colour was still coming thru. The kelp wouldn't do the puppy any harm. Dont give up yet.

I have been told to get a Simpson Dryer as it does not spin the hair like some dryers do. Does anyone know where I can get one of these. I am currently using a Liberty Stand dryer and I find it ok but very loud and I always end up with a roaring headache after using it on one dog let alone 4.

Had to add another photo of Ty just because he is such a cutey

Thank you 4 Paws my Orijen trial pack arrived today. Wow that was quick. I gave Chase a taste and he never eats dry food Guess what he stole the bag, jumped up on the lounge chair and growled when i went to take it from him Chase's growl is very unconvincing Lucky i only put a small hole in the bag and he wasn't able to get anymore out LOL

My Basenji Boys pee like this too all year round apart from season time. The Hav's do too. A friend of mine had a pug that used to do hand stands to pee with both back legs in the air

Oh my god that sounds like my OH. He said no dogs in the house too but we now have 3 in the bed and have had 5 Adults and 7 puppies in the bed But I must say he works away too but on his 7 days off he puts everyone out in the morning so I can sleep in, so sweet of him, he also feeds them all too and shares cuddles. I might even get him back into showing again but he swears he will not show a fluffy

I have to agree with you. I use human shampoo on my Havanese show coats and I have never ever had a problem and Judges comment on the beautiful texture of their coats
-
Not sure about that as I haven't used the shampoo but I was put onto the coditioner by a vet for a Hot spot on one of my Basenji's and it cleared up in days and the hair grew back so fast you could almost see it growing

Hi All Just wondering does anyone know a groomer that will groom andplay with my new Imports in Quarantine at Eastern Creek, the puppies will be arriving soon so I need to organise someone asap. They will need to be able to handle very thick coat and definately not know how to use scissors. Obviously the puppies are show dogs so I need someone the knows what they are doing. Any help would be muchly appreciated. Felicity

Chase would do back flips for Advocado and he just loves Banana's but the lolly kind
-
Rowan is a fantastic vet
-
Yes they actually have Siberian Huskies  The O.M.G is fantastic. I use it on my Havanese as a finishing spray and also as a detangling spray. All PP products are great and do what they say they will do
-
Actually that is what our BC had but i could not recall the name it was so long ago.
-
This just looks like a minor rash at this stage but i would take him to the vet as they can give a cream for it. Years ago my old BC got something similar while he was in boarding and it was not treated straight away and he ended up losing all the hair on one side of his face right up over his eye. Once it was treated it cleared up beautifully and all hair grew back and the rash never returned. Good luck

How do you not get the coat caught in the dremel with th long coats. Ive heard of people using a sock with a hole in it for the toe to come thru. Do you use this method and does it work. My boy doesn't mind the sound of it and he hates the clippers so its a struggle to clip his nails.
-
Dremel is great for smooth coated dogs but i have trouble doing it wih the fluffies. Scared of getting hair caught up in it

Many years ago I lost a puppy to TOXO. He had been home with my family from a registered breeder 3 days when he become sick, the vet told me it was caused from eating cat do do's but we didnt have a cat. We fought it with him for 3 weeks but in the end it was too much for the little guy and he passed away at 10 weeks of age. At our previous house we had a cat but we had to get rid of it as I had got TOXO from cleaning out the litter tray and I had 3 miscarrages before the found that it was TOXO ;) Very horrible way to go for a puppy.
