  1. Bosco of course!! I think all puppies are super cute, but particularly the larger breeds like Danes, Dobes, any of the bully breeds, Rotties, and the gun dogs are just adorable puppies!! Totally agree of course ;) And as proof ^^^ Me three :D Now I want a puppy!!
  2. Hhmmm - I would love to do this with Bos.... Anyone want to be the human model for me
  3. As far as I know, not specifically, no. Athough, the ACT rescue groups, and DAS and even the RSPCA here can and do rehome pit bulls. There are currently two devine girls in the RSPCA shelter now looking for new homes. But these dogs are local, I don't think anyone in the ACT, whether they wanted to or not, would be allowed to help dogs in need from interstate. That side of it I don't really know a lot about?? If I had the time, space and money, I would set one up myself!! ETA Sorry to rehash this thread, I just noticed the date after I posted...
  4. Some absolutely gorgeous photo's in here. I have to say, I have had a good giggle at some of them too. Here are some of Bossy's faces. "Pretty, Pretty Please??? I Promise to be good..." You're so funny!! And I dont know why, but he has several ways of saying "I hate you!!"
  5. Aww, thanks everyone! I think he is a little bit on the gorgeous side too, but I could be kinda biased
  6. It's been a while since I have posted on here, but I could'nt let the day go by without adding a few new photo's of Bosco. The old boy turns 5 today, a pretty good innings considering he nearly didnt make it through the first 12 months on more than one occasion Taken just the other day, looking all handsom and regal Sunbaking With his best bud, Kyah Good pooches waiting patiently for dinner
  7. Welcome back Jed! It's so nice to see you back
  8. All my thoughts are with you today Jed, sending you healing vibes that your surgery goes well. RIP Magnus and every other special dog that did not make it out on that awful day. I really am at a loss for words. My heart breaks for you Jed, I could never comprehend the loss you have suffered. I dont think I have ever cried so much as I have the last couple of days. Well done also to everyone involved in helping out. You are all amazing and very special people. Thank you
  9. I will make sure that I am home from school in time to light a candle and raise a glass. Lovely idea.
  10. This is just devestating news. My thoughts and prayers go to Jed for a speedy recovery, and fly free precious doggies that didnt make it I am another DOLer that, even though I dont post a lot, I am often in here reading and Jed's posts always stand out. And well done to everyone who has pulled together to help Jed and her family. DOL really is an amazing place when everyone pulls together. I will make a donation tomorrow.
  11. I think I have just been converted.... I have tried numerous things to make my house smell nicer, and nothing seems to work. A year or so ago, Bosco thought it would be a good idea to pee on the carpet, and I tried the bi-carb, the vinegar, and I also had the carpets steam cleaned, and every now and then I can still smell it. Apparently my house does not smell 'doggy' according to people I have over, but it would be much nicer if it smelled pleasant. I might have to put in an order Have you hit them up for a commission yet VJB
  12. Fly free Daddy. You were a great ambassador for you breed, and you will be missed by many people around the world.
  13. I know, I know, the poor dog puts up with a lot from me. The necklace shot is actually him modelling my secret santa present, I just never got around to putting it in the thread because I have only just loaded all my photo's onto photobucket this week. I promise, I dont dress him up all the time, I just dont have a lot of recent photo's of him - I'm very slack
  14. Nope, your not the only one. I can take anything off Bosco with absolutely no problems at all. I made sure when he was a pup that he got used to it, especially highly prized food items like bones. I dont really have any advice for your friend, but I certainly don't think that it is acceptable, nor should it be ignored.
  15. Well, today my dear little boy has turned 4 yrs old. I can't believe how quickly time goes by, he has gone from a teeny tiny puppy to a very handsome man. Have a great birthday boofhead!! Love mum. Some recent photo's of the dear boy
  16. I have been slack and have not updated!! Bos and I have been trying to keep up our walks, but admittedly we did miss a couple last week. If I missed a morning I tried to take him in the afternoon, but some walks were still missed. Yesterday was our first day back at dog training, and Bos performed so well that the trainer almost told me I need to move up a class, but I just warned her that he is not always so well behaved :D I wont be able to walk him for a few days either, as I was really smart and all but destroyed my quad at softball on Saturday, so walking for me is out until that heals ;) Thank dog I dont have a bounce off the walls type of dog lol.

    Rocco

I knew I should not have read this at work. I am so sorry for your loss, Rocco was one in a million, and he will always be remembered. Run free big guy, and look out for all our angels at the bridge. Hugs to you
  18. Morning Dog Walkers! Asari, sorry you have not been feeling well, hopefully you will start to feel better soon! Saturday was my first game back at softball, so afterwards I took Bos for a leisurely stroll around the block, which was a nice change to our fast paced morning walks! :D Sunday I was too sore to do anything, and we only went for a half our walk yesterday morning because I slept in a bit. There was no walk this morning, but I will try to take him out tonight if it is not too hot. Its funny how they just know when they are going to get a walk. Each morning I have gotten up early, Bosco knows instantly and has gotten up and raced around all excited, but this morning, he just laid in bed waiting for me to put him out. Poor boy, I felt so bad for not getting up :D
  19. Oh god, I am so, so sorry. RIP big guy, you put many a smile on many a face. Hugs to you Rocco1, Ralphdog and Ralph.
  20. Took Bos out again this morning I was at mum's last night, and she has one of those pedomiters that measure's the distance walked when you set it up, so I borrowed it and apparently my walk is about 4kms! I never thought I would be walking that far and actually making it all the way Well done everyone!
  21. Confession time - I missed two days... Celebrating (and then recovering from) Australia Day, but Bos and I were back out on the beat this morning!! Another hour long walk for both of us. At least I might start to get fit with all this walking Met 5 dogs along the way today, all with owners, but 3 were off lead. I didnt really say anything, because the owners saw me and put them straight back on lead, but one closer to home, the woman just veered off in another direction. Didnt stop her dog wandering over though. Luckily, all Bosco wants to do is say hi to other dogs, but I just dragged him away and didnt let this dog get too close. I did mention something under my breath about putting her dog on a friggin lead though. We go back to training first week of Feb, so that will be good too. Daisy, it would be good if you were here to walk with - I need to do distraction training with Bosco to ignore other dogs when we walk - He is pretty much perfect on our walks, until he sees a dog that he wants to say hi to, and then I need to be prepared for it unless I want to dislocate my shoulder!!! Happy walking all, and I promise to be much better from now on
  22. I have had the same issue with Bosco a couple of times with having to remove remaining poop - He tries to do the bum rubbing on the ground thing with an astonished look on his face, but his bum never seems to reach the ground The only other thing really is when I am at home playing/trying to teach him tricks - I swear the neighbours think I must be nuts sometimes!
  23. Well, I managed to drag my sorry butt out of bed this morning at 5 to 6 and I took Bosco for an hours walk! It nearly killed me, and he was getting a little slow by the time we got home, but I'm looking forward to looking and feeling better in a few weeks time, not to mention that it will also do the world of good for Bos. Thanks Daisy for starting this thread - I just hope I can keep it up now ;)
  24. Daisy can you please add me???? I am shocking, and rarely walk Bosco. I made a vow that I would walk him EVERY DAY this year, and have so far maybe taken him twice. He is not the sort of dog to go stir crazy if he doesnt get a walk, but I know how much he loves it, and I always have an excuse, whether it be the weather, too tired after work, or just keep hitting the snooze button in the morning. Now that I have outed myself, I might have that motivation to get off my a*** and actually not hit the snooze button, and get up and take my boy on the walks he loves and deserves!
