Question For Qld Agility People
smisch replied to smisch's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Yes I do go there . I love them because they use the most updated, positive methods. The classes are small and you get heaps of feedback from amazing trainers. I think it's one of the best clubs in Brisbane to be honest Btw I will be moving to Sydney next year and my this agility club is something I am going to miss the most hahahaha we're doing the swap smisch to QLd Laffi to NSW!!! -
Question For Qld Agility People
smisch replied to smisch's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I'm thinking laffi you go there?? I'll be joining into the new year! I did email them and enquired about what class I could be doing with jock, I have been told either obstical class or compettion class... yay!! I'm excited about coming to a new club! new people and a fresh start to the year! on new grounds hopefully we'll be still running well then!! -

I'm assuming its the one on their site, how much futher is Tivoli in relation to Bellbird park I'm coming from Jimboomba so if thats any help? Thanks guys Sam

I got Jock and Snoops done at training one night, we had height cards there and so two judges who also train at our club meausred the boys and I filled out their height cards, with their rego numbers and then the height was written and signed off. .

Well if you read my sig you will see that Jock Chops won 300 excellent jumping at the festival of agility! He also got 3rd NQ in novice agility and 7th in snooker with 10 sec to spare I hate to think how fast everyone else ran! So proud of my little man! From Pound dog to Agility star!!
-
hahaha! Fine then! Jock did really well He won the excellent jumping 300's being the only dog that qualified. It was a course that twisted and turned and even had a small serpintine in it! and We blitzed it!!! We also got a Non qualifing 3rd place in Novice Agility and a 7th in snooker shaving 10 sec off the course time! Go Jock Chops!!!

Getting Started In Dog Sports
smisch replied to ~*Shell*~'s topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I train at castle hill, yes its crowded but once u get up out of beginners, it gets better, it just takes time. But I really love it and everyone there is really nice and willing to help you learn. BrushFarm in Eastwood does Obed on a sunday, its reasonably good as well, They are happy to take on any sort of dog well at least they did when I went there with snoopy. . and they train for comps as well. . before this I went to parramatta and I really didn't like it as it wan't structured and on the first night we did a full sized A-frame which is a no no. . I just didn't like the way they taught, it may have changed since I went but I didn't think it was very good. . -
Keeping The Go - And A Title Question
smisch replied to smisch's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
thats a real pain.. May have to just come up with the money as I've already entered and paid for excellent. . Can't deprive the monster of his run. -
Yes the festival of agility is coming up and I have done strategic pairs a few times at ADAC agility and now I want to give ANKC a go.. with Jock NJC JD lol he loves to have a go and while we're not fabulous at our weaves we're happy to give it all a go! He's in the 300's but we can jump 400 and yeah. We were going to go with Agilityoodle but Nina's love for jock is too strong and she just wants to play lol! Anyone? Let me know thanks
-
Well as many people may or may not know jock and I have continued in agility and he's loving it and we have obatined a few titles but my terrier mix snuppie (snoopy) has retired. I have continued training with jock and snoopy wants to join in and he's loving it again, i have taken him to proper training once and he loved it so we're going to do 2 events at the festival of agility Novice jumping and snooker cos they're both fun and easy to do) But my question is how do I take his enthusiasm from home and training and put in into the ring?? My title question, Jock got his JD title at Catslehill and I know your supposed to register it but I don't have the money to ontop of festival entries and my membership renewal but can I still add the JD and put him in excellent providing I register the title ASAP?? Cos I don't think it would be fair to ther novice dogs to be competeing against a dog wiht his novice title.. Thanks!
-
I use Frame for the A-frame and the word for touch is "get it!" but the funny thing is for weaves I use go weave get it get it get it until the excersise is complete. Get it is basically the attention word cos jock all of sudden goes "what am I getting??" and starts doing what his told lol!
-
Well done you guys! It was a great run! Sorry I haven't got he vid yet.. Been Crazy with exams! But will have it soon! You better be at the next one!!
-

Really Good Groomer In Sydney?
smisch replied to Gomez the Norfolk's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I'm happy to go to mondo Cane for products ie: Treats and Toys but not for grooming anymore! We were sending Snoopy there and he was a little nightmare it took the 7 hours to do him! i think thats just a bit extreme! and he was always unhappy when he came out; I mean yes they groomed him but he was stressed and upset everytime we picked him up so we have taken to doing him ourselves; Gomez is there no one who you know that can teach you how to handstrip?? I'm sure someone would be happy to teach and show you so u can do it yourself! -
I'm like this too! I get so focoused on the dog that I forget the course! I have started a new method which is starting to help me a bit more! 1. walk the course and work out where everthing is 2. walk the course and try and work out my crosses and all that! 3. then <it sounds stupid> I walk the course as if i'm the dog I start facing a jump and walk it so I can work out what the dog will see ahead of them, its helped me work out what jock see's when he comes out of a tunnel or over a dog walk! So I step over the jumps, walk beside the tunnels but end up at the end looking ahead to see whats there and I stand at the end of any oobstical to work out what the dog would see as the next obstical and its helped me remember the course! Hope that helps!
-
besides Sydoney and Kaviak and any other dogsport forumers anyone here going? This will be jock and my 2nd ADAC trial and we're already loving it!! if we do well in both classes, both trials that'll be our titles in novice agility and jumping!!! hope to see some Dolers there
