  1. I just watched your video, while i'm still a bit of an agility newbie in comparison to other people lol! I think you guys should go up, if you want! because your the handler and you should feel comfortable I think you guys have the skills and would probably do fine.. In sydney even in the 2nd and 3rd classes (but not as much in class 3) people were still handling their dogs on leashes! so for you guys to have that much down its a great achievement! I think as well that the rear end awareness is something you can work on as you progress. but this is all my opinion.. I was no where near as soiid with jock in my skills as what you guys are now, even now 3 years later we're training for basic things like 2o2o contacts and correct weave enteries from all angles.. its purely stuff that we managed to avoid while at training.. Good luck and maybe we'll see you at the trials one day! ETA: here is a REALLY POOR quality vid of when we were in 4th class and we were still very green then.. in comparioson u guys are doing well
  2. thanks guys.. that helps! BC4ME I don't think I'm gonna make it and i just haven't put in enough effort to get jock into a proper rountine yet which sucks cos i was looking forward to it.. One last question, I still have membership in NSW with Dogs nsw is it possible to use that membership to enter into QLD trials until it expires?? sounds stupid but i had the logical thought that some people must be trailing over the border occasionally.. If not i'll just join QCCC
  3. It is designed for people who want to teach tugging as a reward but I'm purchasing mine to teach my dogs the joys of toys.. All I want is a dog who wants to chase a ball and run around with me with a toy!!
  4. well you can hardly blame him for that :D . He has good taste your Snoopy Hahaha I always knew he had good taste lol.. makes up for the lack of brains at times!
  5. I was just thinking about this! Great topic Heidii, Jock is driving me isane with his new bad habit of bar knocking... Another one that I was working with which Im not sure if it is a correct method but we did have some improvement was I set up three low jumps with room for either the front feet or back feet in between and I had jock running in between them, and slowly I then raised the bars making him step higher (obviously the taller the dog is the higher the bar can go.)
  6. Since we moved I rarely take the dogs out to parks mainly cos we'll just go for a run around the paddock and do some training. Besides training dogs there is a group fo four dogs here that the boys socialize with, one of which lives next door. Sydney was a different story we went and met with people at the park who I'd known long before owning my dogs and then even after I got the dogs it was before jock was a "performance dog" so we knew these dogs and had no problems with them.. I rarely go to offleash parks due to Snoopy's social skills, he prefers alot smaller groups of dogs who he can get to know.. the only breed so far that we have expierenced next to no social problems with is the Border Collie.. the only thing he'll do is stalk and chase them while they're chasing a ball.. He seems to have issues with most other breeds Begals, Retreivers and Labs are the worst as well as whole males..
  7. I actually found this really interesting training tool the other day and I figur it can be used to encourage a dog to play with toys Tug it I have also watched a video on it and really when you look at the method behind it, its really quiet clever.. I think it'd be worth a shot, Ill be purchasing one as soon as I have the money!!
  8. hmmm.. I train everyday for about a half hour to an hour (as jock just keeps on flying) with breaks in between.. normally I just run him round the agility course and see what happens so for instace the other day we were missing contact zones so we started contact work.. but generally I try to cover a little bit of everything. Some days I'll find something online or hear about something exciting that I want to try so I'll set out to achieve that, It just depends on what the mood is as some days jock will be obsessed with one obstical so we'll use the obsession to work on it.
  9. hey Chi-chi found this for you.. its a girl in the UK doing agility with her chis.. while its not always the best film quality or the best handling u can see her dogs having the best time http://au.youtube.com/user/roxieschihuahuas
  10. there is a chi in sydney who is doing agility, we first trained with this dog, hes a great little dog!! Flies around but last time i saw him he was still doing zoomies. Any dog can do agility, they just have to have the will!
  11. When I was going to castle Hill, it was large classes.. Dependant on how many people turned up it was a tad annoying as you sometimes got a heap of training done and sometimes not alot.. I have heard some great feedback of Paws4fun!
  12. CCCQ has listed a DwD comp.. I was thinking it may be some fun for us, Jock has a routine down and I'm always looking for something new hahahaha! but I can't find the rules supposedly listed on their website. Does anyone have a link or a copy  The other dumb question.. I have entry forms left over from NSW showing the ones the Dogs NSW sell, am I able to use them for my QLD agility trials?? If not is there a PDF or word file for the QLD entry forms as I really don't want to spend money again on them.. Thanks
  13. yeah no any dog can trial in QLD now I got that confirmed tonite at training!!
  14. We're gonna be there with my friend who's entering her bc (who runs at a snails pace!) too.. Jock should be flying we're getting the A-frame built up tomorrow finally!! so its looking promising! So which do I enter?? Jock has good weaves.. so can we enter all four??.. Sorry for all the questions!
  15. Well now this can offically be the crappest Day ever.. RIP Merlin, I'll always remember you for being that big beautiful Protective boy who was never a fuss to walk.. Here is one of the few pics I have of this sweet boy. Dogglesworth I wish I was still in Syd.. We'll All miss You Merlin Sam, Snoopy and Jock
  16. thanks for that! I found the enitre section in the Rule book but I'm not a literal person and found it hard to understand what it meant, I'll be emailing ADAA sometime to see if there are any trails that will have a dedicated junior ring! Just so we can make sure that we are that trial!
  17. lol I should have my p's by then so i'll try and make an appearance depending on a job and stuff! Jock is flying!! and he's looking forward to getting back in the ring
  18. It kinda makes sense lol! I'm a little slow!! Okay I have a few questions!! 1. Whats the difference between International and Regular programme?? and this one is a long winded one! Neighbours Son wants to give agility a go, but they're dog is still to young so we're working on training but I have offered to let him help train and start trialing with jock in the junior programme. I'll still be trialling jock too at the same time Can someone please break down the two types of junior classes.. Thanks!
  19. Well we haven't been here in a while Jock Won Excellent jumping back at Festival of Agility in the 300s!! So proud of him for his first ever excellent round! We FINALLY have a right side weave (95% accurate) and a 2o2o!! So proud of my little man!!
  20. hmmm Snuppie All I want is for him to have a fun time in the ring!! Jock Since we're starting ADAA I'd like a title in their novice agility and jumping and a game! And some good weave and contact work in the ring lol!! We've been working hard at home!
  21. I haven't had a chance yet.. but I'll give them a call sometime this week! and if they're still training go down and watch a class, so I will let you know.
  22. FINE!!! No I figured we'd never escape the Vickie Instruction!! (its not nagging) When I mean instruction I mean the basic now the weavers start on the left side... I'm always up for learning more!! I'm going to give the Jimboomba Dog Obedience a call as its the one that's the one Yackets Mum was talking about and its ALOT closer than ADCQ!
  23. cool thanks for that I will look into it.. I don't really need a huge lot of instruction just some decent equipment lol you should see our current contact its a piece of wood thats just as long as the dog!!!
  24. cool well you may see us there come new year, I don't really care bout training much cos I have some basic equipment, but I'd like to find a club so I can get some decent contact work on till I finally get some equipment for that. You'll probably see us trailing before training lol!! Look out for a blue eyed shelti X
