Basically to cut a long story short we're heading out to a few shelters next weekend in hunt for our next dog.. it will be a young dog (under 2 years old) and it is a requirement that the dog is suitable for agility, people ask why not go to a breeder but we would rather save a life.. personal choice I have plans on taking out a tug toy and seeing how the dog plays with toy but what else should I be looking at for assessing a dog for agility and just general training.. I have only ever had older dogs and I got lucky with jock that he enjoyed training.. I would ultimatly like a dog with drive and a love for toys! Any advice appreciated!! I have a fair level of training expierence but as far as the assesing of suitability I am stuck..

Im gonna say thank goodness for only living 10 min from the grounds!! Yesterday was the Jimboomba Agility and Jumping Trial and we didn't leave till about 11.15pm lol... it was a long day but really good.. Novice Jumping: Well we didn't need that one but we DQed by taking the wrong jump silly me wasn't turning away from it.. but still a great run!! Open Agility: DQ too but we got our weaves and the see-saw! Open Jumping: DQ Had a tunnel suck monster lol!!! Novice Agility: Q & 2nd!! I had no clue I knew we Qed and as i was waiting for my open run I was watching the other dogs and was thinking man some of those BCs are doing well... Startegic pairs: :D didn't Q but it was insane! We based the whole course around jock doing the weaves.. and watt happened he screwed them over!!! ;) Still alot of fun!! Not long till Ekka now so we'll be in training for that! one more Q for AD!!! yay!! Another huge congrats to Levi and Bindi again!! You guys keep getting better and better.. You're probably gonna overtake us at the rate your going!!

Well my brag for today is more of a sentimental one.. For those who don't know my other little dog snuppie passed away suddenly on wednesday and we had entered the southport trial along with jock.. I wasn't expecting much from jock, But he made good on his runs, wasn't zooming crazily but gave it his all and we turned out with 2 Qs a 1st, 2nd and NQing 3rd place! and his JD title again lol so lets not have the same issues as the last one lol! It was such a hard day for the pair of us, but im really thankful to everyone there who offered their condolenses and support through out the day! Esp to Nikita and Minkah who made us matching shirts to remember my little man! A HUGE congrats to Levi.. She'll be in here later! You guys had a great day! So we now have (again) Jock NJC JD SD!! YAY!!

For those who haven't been in lost and found.. Got home last night to find snoopy missing out of the yard, Our other dog jock ran down to the back of our property and was crying at the fence and on the otherside in another property was his jacket.. Had a huge hunt didn't find anything cos it was just too dark Went for another walk down there this morning and found snuppie in the grass.. My poor baby was out in the cold all night.. But he was right near where jock had lead me.. Jock brought him home.. We have laid him to rest near my Sooty Bear (cat) ashes.. Im not only upset but angered by his death, he had been attacked by another or possible more than one dog.. We have a fair idea on which dogs it was so there will be closure soon as the conucil have been great help to us..It still doesn't bring him back.. RIP my little man, When I joined DOL I was dogless and wanting a dog of my own so badly.. then you came for my 15th birthday.. We were just short of 4 years together.. We have been through some of the best and worst times.. and You came so far from being terrified of me touching your feet to giving me hi-fives and waving at me, we could see every bone of your body but now you were a little athlete.. You were an amazing little dog and you were so close to making your big break back into your agility.. You were going to get your JD title this weekend.. Run free little man.. You'll always be in our hearts.. Jock and I will NEVER forget you..

Are you Serious. . Does dogs nsw send you a new cert? Cos i have just been thru the biggest drama with them trying so register a title. . I sent them the Paperwork and copies of the cards and they refused to do anything till i Sent the rego cert to them. . But of course on one told me this till the 3rd time i tried. . And now they lost the paper work and i have a feeling during all the moving my cards went. . So basicaly were doing our jd title again. . Its getting rather frustrating.. Cos i just got taken for a real run around. . Oh yes we have all the paper work we'll hold onto it. . Blah blah blah. . Hopefully cccq will be better to me

I have listened to why my firend left that club and I would have too long ago.. It just really ddin't work for her and shes rather annoyed... But we'll see how the new club goes!

A friend of mine who lives in Mill park has just left her Club at Warringal (Spelling) and Is looking for a new club reasonably close to her place to train her dog in Obed and Agility.. Northcote is out as they train on saturday.. ANY SUGGESTIONS!!

I was looking to take Jock out to see some sheep finally.. He's come off a farm before I got him from the Shelter so it would be interesting to see how he goes, He seems to take to all the shetland sheepdog activites like a duck to water! He loves to work, we're training to possibly do our CCD towards the end of the year and he's doing well agility wise so lets try something natural.. So my question is are there any clubs in SE qld preferably that have herding.. I would like to see if he has the drive and if he does I would consider taking some lessons with him.. Thanks all! Sam

I completely forgot this topic I rang them and the guy said the program had a glitch and so no height classes have been recorded but he asked me to email me my name, jocks name and the classes and his height catagorey for that class.. I selected the option to fax but just make a note that you have paid your enteries online.. I don't know what the email is it should be on the website though.. Sorry I can't be of anymore help SO to break it down email them the height or fax it to them.. we can't ring them cos they need it in writing to have the paper trail..

Well im a little slow on posting my brags for mt gravatt. Im currently doling from my phone as i curl up sick in bed. we had a great weekend novice gamblers was a huge deal for us no passes but both days jock got the gamble saturday he miss a q By 2 points and sunday he may have qed if i wasn't stupid and decided to do obsticals away from the gamble just before the buzzer. Both lots of open runs both days were all dqs. He's getting there slowly we have alot of distance work to do before ekka. Novice agility on saturday was a shock we got our first q and a first place! It was awesome! Novice jumping on saturday i screwed him over one knocked bar and a missed tunnel. Sunday novice agility we dqed cos i have a dog OBSESSED With contacts. Lol. . Still a nice run. Novice jumping q and 3rd! Both Snooker runs we q'd so now we have our Snooker title which i was aiming to get! Best bit for the whole weekend was the weave committment jock gave me. He only missed one entry all weekend. His saturday Snooker run he flew out the tunnel and i had no hope of catching him but he hit the weaves and zoomed on thru. Congrats to everyone esp. Levi and bindi you guys have been working so hard and its paid off! Mnt you guys had some great runs this weekend as well! Everyone keep up the good work!

hmmm That would be interesting considering the fact that you can enter online.. They should have that in bold large print.. thats okay I'll give them a call/send an email next week and find out what the deal is!

I should have probably asked this before I paid for them.. I entered Jock into Ekka in August in Agility and jumping (novice and Open but knowing my luck we'll have our JD title then!) Anyway got my reciept in the mail today.. but it has nothing about his height class or anything and hasn't asked me for it either.. so how does it work.. Im regesterd I have paid my enteries what next? Do I just sit and wait for a little while or is there something that comes out closer to the day or should I be calling them.. incase we can't tell smisch is a newbie with big shows.. Decided before my little fattie retires that we should do Ekka atleats once so why not! Thanks all!

yep heres to sun for MT gravatt! lol we could possibly get our JD title and our SD title in one weekend!! lol lets give it a go! Lomani had a great run in excellent.. gotta love the wetness!

hahaha I never even clicked to you being on here lol! Bindi still had a great day considering.. and shes alot smaller than my boys so she's closer to the puddles!! hopefully we'll have better weather soon!

Yesterday was Logan All breeds Agility,jumping and Obed Trial.. Pouring Rain for parts of it but I got lucky and my important run was sunny!! The BIGGEST BRAG FOR SNOOPY EVER! He got a Q! Some people will know how long I have been waiting for this.. 3 years of training and working on stopping him shutting down in the ring and we got a Q in Novice jumping STC was 38 sec we did it in 29.20 sec no placing but still a Q we may get snoopy JD in this lifetime!! Jock well talk about surprising.. His novice jumping round.. We did it in 19.99 sec and won.. we beat the border collies I cannot believe it!! he was AMAZING and half the time was running ahead of me so there was alot of distance calls a tricky one for him into a tunnel off the side while there was a jump directly infront of him.. and I'm still at the previous jumping screaming Tunnel! His Novice Agility round was great as well... pouring rain so he ran better than i expected.. 2 faults.. The judge was like to us I really wish I could give it to you as he was the last dog to run and the ring was a lake.. We had a great weave! :D and a nice closing sequence! Great day so worth getting a cold for lol! Bring on MT Gravatt!

And the Run In agility was spectacular! Amazingly quick weave enteries! Congrats guys you deserved it.. We'll see you next weekend! Come on Jock bring me some Qs lol!

I ordered one a little while ago but have been slack with the work behind it! They are great though..

Today wasn't our best day but we still had a great return to the ring after about 6months.. ADO: First class of the day.. oh gosh jock was all over the place like a physco.. he got his weaves and contacts and he did get the distance work after we had been previously DQed.. but still a nice course we could have done MUCH better JD: Snoopys Brag is that he managed a JD course with only two faults! Jock was so naughty.. The judge actually spoke to me cos I was furious with the dog! But it was still a nice run he missed the same tunnel as snoopy and then proceeded to go pee on it so no Q there AD: BEST AD RUN EVER!! We made it right round the course no probs.. Poped our last weave and ran past a jump (my bad!) but still he was focused and got the entry really well! JDO: Great run again got it all right up until the distance line.. I haven't done much distance work so we need to work on it!! But on the plus side met some great people who were all really nice and may hve found a new club to train at which will be great! So no Qs today but some excellent runs from both dogs!
