  1. Sorry guys DOL wouldn't log me in last night.. no we didn't NQ 1 fault.. The lovely silver lined tunnel that wouldn't let any light it.. But still an awesome run and I'm very proud of the effort he gave me.. We were having an off night.. there wasn't that usual physcoticness that he has first run as many would know! So We'll just hang out now for Redland bay home of Dens 1st Q lol Heres the Vid.. for those who know Den well take a look and see if you can see what im seeing.. I'm not sure whats up with him atm.. he's just not himself..
  2. I had to share this.. Den needs one more Q for his JD and tonight we're running for that tonight at Jimboomba (QLD state trials) I could cry.. considering I have had this dog since August last year, rescued from the pound and already he has gotten 1/3 AD Q and 1st! 2/3 JD Q & 3rd both times! 1/3 SD 1/3 GD Rescues can do anything just as well if not better! :D I'm so proud of him! and no matter what happens tonight I'll be proud of him!
  3. I just went back and read my goals for 2010 and Den has pretty much exceeded all of those lol! He is running for his JD title tonight!! lol so new goals for him Denver: *Gain a Pass in JDX *Finish either or SD or GD titles * Get some more distance work going.. *Gain another pass in AD
  4. I wouldn't deem you selfish for getting a purebred dog, Shelter/rescue dogs aren't for everyone.. you obviously know that aussies Fit into your life.. you may find a dog that sounds like it does too but then it turns out its completely out of control or simply just not what you wanted.. I own 2 rescues and I love them to death but they're alot of work, My first rescue boy I though was the dog for me and he turned out to be the biggest mess.. I wouldn't have replaced him for the world but I would hate to see other people have the struggle we did.. I think maybe keep an eye out through breeders who may have had a dog returned to them or rehoming, a failed show dog or even throun through aussie rescue would be a great option for you to keep open. don't let other push you into something you dont want. Keep an eye out in rescue cos for all you know a little soul may appear out t you. But honestly stick with what your comfortable with
  5. Hey Jet if you want good quality stuff that'll last a while! Black dog is the way to go imo.. the RSPCA superstore at underwood homemaker centre (next door to lollipops play land) stocks this stuff.. Its the only pet supply place I found has.. its about $30 - 40 for the bag and ranging between $3 - 30 for clickers depending on the fanciness... Its great to hear about Jet! hopefully we'll see you guys round one of these days!
  6. congrats to everyone! Luke and Barkley! thats awesome I wish our First runs were as good as that! Its a bit late but here is the vid from last weekend.. I have had a few people whine about my taste in music so I'm just gonna say straight up probably best to mute it... My brag for the weekend Den has been having drive issues with his weaves hes been getting slower and slower so I set up my bases as 4 channels poles and he is driving through them and using that single step he originally had.. will be interesting to see if he keeps it once the poles are straight again.. so hopefully we can salvage our decent weaves! JD title run this Friday!! so hopefully will have some good brags from that! Congrats again to everyone!
  7. If I didn't have agility Trials on I would so be there cos DWD is one of the things on Denvers list.. so far we have two movements down! LMAO! oh well maybe later on.. hopefully!
  8. Yes It was good meeting you lol I know know another little border... you guys seem to go up an awful lot at presentations! what a day we had.. The Agility Part of the Trial was more a big laugh for us than any actual work.. mind you Den had an amazing A-frame in Open round 1 and without a doubt that was the Best open run he has given me! We now have table issues because he has worked out if he is on it i'm just at the right height for putting his paws on my shoulders.. Novice rounds we had good weaves and some great distance which i'm thrilled with! I need to learn to trust him more because he does know what to do! Novice Gamblers Q!! for a dog that has refused distance lines he Did it in style! I think our distance work in the ring throughout the day paid off! Novice Snooker : NQ we "dislodged" a bar it never hit the ground though which peeved me but rules are rules.. which sucks cos it was such a nice run! Jock my dog thinks he's superman!! lol contact colours meant nothing to him! and so we flew off of Aframes and Dog walks.. Held our see-saws though with some harsh calls from mum.. So needless to say no ADX Qs and more contact reviews are in order.. (I dont do open with him just because he's getting on and the less runs the better) I swear though in his old age he is speeding up more and more.. he's loving it and I'm finiding it harder to keep up atm! Novice Gamblers: Q! I literally ran out of places to go hahaha cos he was running like a loony and I just kept on handling him! But we did it well! This is Q 2/3! Excellent snooker: Q and 4th! 4th seems to be our lucky place this year... every Q and placing has been a 4th! Great run and A great save at the end by me.. he went to take a red in the closing sequence! Video is coming!
  9. Yay Taylah! Well done to you and Jess lol the COP drought has ended! Great work!
  10. that would be blade.. considering in the catalouge he's the only dog From the family listed.. I would have expected to see more For anyone interested my Friend Lauren put her vids of her runs on youtube They managed a Q & 4th in JWW and a Q and 2nd in the Std run.. placing them first overall in the international/state competition. Go Lyn go! amaizng little dog.. she is Tiny!!! Tomorrow is the individual events!
  11. lol I sw the first 2 hrs or so.. fell asleep for an hr or so then woke up and we're still going.. My friend ran Clear and 4th in the JWW course so everyone is excited! Oh wait feed just died.. starting back up again at about 11pm tonight (QLD time) I hope.. lol! Tomorrow is Excellent B JWW and standard According to the guide they start walk throughs at 7am.. awesome!!!
  12. A number of handlers I know from youtube are competing in the 2010 AKC nationals in Tusla Oaklahoma! Lol I was crazy enough to purchase the 2010 live stream and DVD pack! so I'll be up at 2.30am - 3am cheering them on from my PC?? Am I the only insane agility nutt here or were there other crazy DOLers for those who'd like to know more about the packs avaliable they rang from $14.99 US - $39.99 US (depending on what you want!) I chose the expensive one cos of what I get with it! go to www.agilityvision.com Yesh i am insane!
  13. I Love my physco Border Collie We have had 2 Trials this weekend and both have been alot of fun and I'm really proud of both my little men! Double Snooker Last night, Den came out with his first Q, nothing too spectacular lol, I kept it simple to make it sucessful! but we got it! lol The other 3 runs were crackups!! lol jock had an OCD moment with the Dogwalk lol! Congrats to Lomani, Nicole and AgilityDogs and CK I now know who you are But those were some runs done by both of you... Mani Cracks me up some days! Today we had the Oxley Agility and Jumpers comp.. Today was Denvers Day Novice Jumping - Q & 3rd, First dog in the ring, first run of the day! I couldn't believe we held it together.. whats worse though was the camera didn't film it ;) Open Agility & Jumping - Both were go visit my mum outside the ring.. shes never been to his trials before so this was new, but we recovered nicely! both Dqs lol but still nice work! Novice Agility! - Q and 1st! 2nd place was .40 behind us... that was a complete shocker considering I thought she was gonna call the tunnel and refusal! Jock had a great run Q and 4th in Excellent jumping.. funny thing was I spent the whole day thinking that he was overtime... lol no he wasn't apparently! Vids coming A huge thanks to everyone there today as well and a big congrats to staffylover81 on her JDX go the old puppies!
  14. Well done Smisch all your runs with Jock and Denver were great last night. I too had success at the trial last night Saxon came away with her 4th Q in Agility Excellent and also got her 1st Q in Novice Gamblers I was not expecting that Q in gamblers as i thought we had stuffed up on the gamble but we did not. I am so proud of my girl. Yay Saxon! Go the old puppies! Catch you at Oxley! lol Common Jock we need to Catch Saxon!
  15. My young Border does this and he is fairly new to agility, but in general he has a jumping issue So im adressing that by not letting him jump up unless he is invited. In a ring mind you I tend to turn around and ignore him so then he stops and waits for me, not the most ideal thing but he is getting alot better! My Shleti also does this in the ring esp when he's excited or trying to be the boss. I stop and make him lie down and then continue on.. he very quickly gets the oh if I do this my game stops I know thats not alot of help but its working for me so maybe there maybe something in there for you! Good luck
  16. Thanks everyone.. News just in Jock ended up with 4th in both excellent Agility and Jumping that execellent agility pass was a shock to the system! and a Q in novice Gamblers FINALLY!! lol We may earn our GD yet lol
  17. Well done Kaos and Kaviak it's nice to see it all come together! We had a huge day on at Durack with the Mt gravatt Trial running! not 100% sure if these are all Qs but if they are that makes this the best trial ever Jock: JDX: Pass! not 100% sure if he made time, but a really nice first out round ADX: Pass!! wooooo Finally GD: Clear, lol you would think 3 years would be enough lol! I'm very proud of him JDO: Awesome run just the one tunnel refusal and a poped weaver! SPD: We're still trying to figure it all out but I would say DQ lol Denver: JD: DQ he took the tyre back the wrong way lol but he came when he was called! AD: 2 faults! His weaves were a popathon in this round but its only his 2nd attempt at weaves in a ring and one tunnel refusal cos mum is so much more fun to jump on ADO: VERRRRY NICE!! Made his contact and weaves and tried the distance, I'm very pleased with him JDO: Another great round! He almost had the distance but the notorious tunnel that alot of dogs were refusing was his sore point and he poped a weaver GD: lets not go there lol crazy round!!!! But for Den who is only very new its all coming together.. Jock had a great day after refusing to run for a few weeks he's back into it all!!
  18. Yes but I dont think we own a Sony.. I'll have to ask my stepdad if hee knows...
  19. Darn it missed the Agility! DWD yay!
  20. I would really like to buy a few of the american national DVDs and a few USDAA ones to but I have a feeling they wont work over here with our DVD and TVs running on PAL Is there anywhere that we can buy the special even DVDs in PAL format? Or even somewhere they can be downloaded from I'm not too keen with Video on Demand because its not a forever thing! Thanks all
  21. I'm pretty sure that is the same tunnel I have a little peeved atm cos I imported my tunnel from the USA cos I couldn't find it anywhere! Great tunnel, has withstood Denver racing through it and it survived the dust storm and its been out in the rain and sun and holds up well... I am very happy with it.. I'mh oping its the same one.. looks the same from the photos and description!
  22. Do you have a release word or is it just as soon as mum moves spice moves... With Denver I shaped his 2o2o and basically as we progessed his reward was that he wouldn't get to do the next piece of equipment until he gave me that 2o2o.. so I worked on it on its own until he was able to hold it and wait for our release word.. So within teaching the A-frame on its own i used YES as our word simply because I'd throw his fav toy and yell Yes at him so now its our release and I will say to YES *tunnel* I then added a single jump in off to the side so it wasn't taunting him and kept going and I would use yes and keep going towards the jump... we then built this 2o2o up by slowly shifting the jump around so he got used to it being in different places and the word YES is used to release him to the next... Not sure if this is helpful but I have found after working jock a smaller dog changing to a border collie with that much speed was insane and that a consistent 2o2o is needed.. but within the we need to establish when it is okay to get out of that.. I'm really trying to keep his work consistent and in some cases he will stop with all four feet just off the contact and I will make him back up until our 2o2o is held... unless I am opting for a running for some unknown reason lol! Good Luck!
  23. He's a real boofhead and a cheeky one to match that.. lol you can give him a toy and he'll look like he is being oh so innocent and playing with it but no he is tearing it apart.. and Horses are his biggest love lol!
  24. lol Well for those who haven't seen or met him meet Denver a 2yr old BC who I have had for 6 months now! <3 this boy! Enjoy! More coming soon lol
