Very exciting. Best of luck shellbyville!

oohh, how exciting. Good luck Armahani! Pupdate: Ellie's puppies are all doing well.... stacking on the weight (probably 'cos they never stop feeding  ) - little porkers. Ellie is now more relaxed and leaving her babies here and there for a few minutes.

aaww, beautiful Hawksdale!

SS: Sounds like you will have babies within the next day if her temp is that low... good luck! LP: Sorry mate, i guess if people have all positive experiences with litters they would be less anxious, but i still get anxious after a few issues here and there!!

Great news! Best of luck with everything :) Keeping everything crossed for some nice babies for you to keep Shellbyville. Not long to go!

Thanks everyone. After a very busy day, she's still smiling!

Ellie had 4 boys and 4 girls by c-section this morning. All doing really well . I really was of two minds about having an elective caesar, but they are all well over average golden sized pups so glad we did!!

I'm not sure about what others have experienced, but i find my puppies seem to be active later at night and i just place my hands lightly on Ellie's tummy and get whacked all over the shop!

aaawwwww, cute as!!

Congrats Hawksdale & Melodie (and hubby LOL) .... 10 babies! You'll all have your hands full for a while!
-
Great set up at your place armahani. We use the same vet too LOL
-
Your girl is quite big already underfoot! LOL.
-
Best of luck for a nice easy whelping Hawksdale! Hope you manage to catch a few ZZzzzz's!

aawww, look at Kinta. Is she slowing down yet?

Sounds like they're all resting up for the big event . Smelly seems to look more and more like Jazzy as time goes on... she migrated from the sun this morning to the aircon. She did manage to get up a few times to entertain her puppy people, but for the most part she made them come to her. No more visitors now though! (much to Pirate's disgust)

I think she's got 7 or 8 in there, so betting on 8 LOL. Funny girl - she hates the heat usually, but is out there sunbaking!

hhmmm, my girls both have 9 nipples. From what i hear from other golden breeders 8 to 10 is common, yet they often have larger litters too. Some pics of Ellie with 1 week to go (taken a few days ago now): Definitely carrying them lower this time (this is her 3rd litter so i guess everything is sagging! )

oh my goodness! Best of luck with that - 12! LP: Keeping everything crossed for a nice easy whelp for you and Kinta. Ellie had a difficult time last time and after much thought she'll be having a caesarian on Tuesday. I'm not one for elective caesars, and have never had one. Just make sure you keep your vets after hours number with you at all times!

We've only got a week to go also and my poor girl is really suffering with the heat. Thank god for aircon!!

If it is cold tail, should be ok in a few days. Just make sure you dry the base of the tail and around the tail well after swimming/washing, etc.

greyseas, i hope everything goes well for you and your puppy. I think the smallest puppy i've had at 8 weeks in a litter has been around 6kg (probably average, but mine usually are around 8kg at the 8 week mark). There is absolutely no way i would send a 2kg puppy to a new home i'm afraid. Can i ask if you saw pics of the whole litter as they were growing? What did the other puppies look like?

That's an ok email freundhund, but perhaps make it more personal if they're not going to call the breeder. I much prefer phone calls, but i know a lot of breeders do like initial contact via email. I probably get a minimum of 10 similar emails to yours per week, and i get a bit frustrated sometimes because i work a minimum of 5 days a week when i don't have a litter, it takes time to respond, answer questions, etc., and then often there is no reply at all, not even a 'thanks for the info'. I have even sent out my own puppy pack via email to people who have bought puppies from other breeders and not received much information, and not a simple thank you. I'm not saying you or your friends would do this, just trying to help explain why some breeders may appear short or rude. There are so many time-wasters out there, and from a basic email it's difficult to differentiate between them, hence why i much prefer a phone call.

Despite a lot of listings for golden puppies, there is also a lot of enquiries. I have a litter due in a month and have had over 50 enquiries in the last month or two alone. Sure, some just want general info, etc,. but many are genuinely wanting to purchase a pup freundhund, i understand that you want to help your friends look for a pup, but if i had someone email/phone on another persons behalf i would simply ask you to ask them to call me. Perhaps just help them with relevant questions, etc., but it would raise some alarm bells for me if the people themselves didn't call me. Quite often you can get a 'feel' for a person almost immediately on the phone - i like to have a good chat with them so we can both ask questions of each other, and then, all being well i like to meet them before i put anybody on my waiting list.
