  1. I placed my second order a few days ago and just checked again and have put through another order. I absolutely love their poo pouches so ordered a few along with more toys!
  2. Just noticed that, other then Pomz, we have all had more boys in our litters! Wonder if the trend will continue?
  3. aaawww, they're adorable Andisa :) . Your little boy sounds like he's doing well!
  4. I'm more likely to be up at 1am than 6am lol - not a morning person!! Had i not taken it at 6, i would have missed the drop also and thought there was only a 0.5 degree drop/no drop. Easy to miss, and i'm glad i caught it as Izzy really gave me no other indication that she was going to whelp soon LOL LP: I have just found this article which is a good read: http://www.aushound.com.au/hormone-levels-in-a-brood-bitch/
  5. I wonder that too... i guess it's a safety net if they haven't prog tested?
  6. It's possible she missed her bitches temp drop, as it goes back up again eg. Izzy's temp was 37.8 at 5.30pm on the 5th, then 37.6 at 10.30pm, then at 1am on the 6th it was 37.4, 6am it was 36.7 (so our big drop), then i next took it at 9am and it was 37.3 - would have been easy to miss had i not taken it so frequently. Some people also say that some bitches don't even get the temp drop, but mine all have and they have all then had their pups between 12 and 24 hours after (most of mine have been 24 hours to the minute, except Iz) We also rely on the fact that the vet/lab's machines are calibrated correctly too when testing prog levels :) .
  7. Good that you know that LP, so at least you can count the 63 days from her first mating :)
  8. LP: Did you prog test when you mated Zara (ie. do you know when she ovulated?) 0.5 a degree isn't that much. I usually take the 'temp drop' to be almost a full degree (and it can go up and down). However generally when the temp is 36.8 or 36.9 you will have pups in 12 to 24 hours. If you are over 63 days post-ovulation and nothing happens, that's when i'd be going for a check up with the vet. A little more difficult if you're not sure when she ovulated. With no inertia in the lines i wouldn't be too concerned. Other than a temp drop, Izzy really gave me very little indication that she was going to whelp - it was a bit of a surprise, but we were prepared as we caught the temp drop. No panting, shivering, etc. Just checked my records from Izzy's whelping last week and at the highest point her temp was 38. It dropped to 37.5 several times including 6 days before she was due! Her temp was 36.8 at 6am on the 6th and she started to deliver her pups at 9pm that day. I would take her temp at least twice a day from a week before she is due, and about 3 days before, i'd take it more frequently (i usually do 4 times a day) so as not to miss the drop ETA. Also, you can always run up the road for a quick ultrasound if you are concerned. Bob at Ultimate Vet has a decent ultrasound machine and will be able to tell you how you're traveling :)
  9. Fordogs - wow, Bella is huge! Rest up while you can LOL Monteba, sorry to hear about the clot - hope you're recovering well :) Andisa, hope your babies are coming along nicely. They look healthy! Everything is going well here. Izzy is still clumsy so i can't leave her alone with the babies - she just plonks herself down anywhere. Luckily my ex cam over last night and puppy sat while i had a great sleep!! I'm also lucky that i can function on very little sleep normally so that helps. Will take more photos soon!
  10. Tossing up whether to buy one of the cloud collars? Has anybody used them? Do they work well? My boy loves his crackle ball, but they can be destroyed easily and my girl decided to eat most of it, so definitely a toy to only let them have under supervision! In saying that, i did buy more just cos he loves it so much! Those furry wubbza's are a hit too!
  11. A few of mine have been a bit off colour around the 3 week to 4 week mark LP. No actual vomiting, but looking very 'green'- sometimes off their food, eating more grass, etc.
  12. That's good. Robbo's had some a few months ago, but wasn't sure if they had any now. Where did you find some?
  13. My girls love a bit of lactose free milk :) Izzy didn't produce much milk with her last litter. We think that's because she had progesterone to maintain the pregnancy. We tried Metamide - didn't do anything, and the poor girl had Oxytocin injections every 6 hours for about 3 weeks until we could wean the pups. If we cut back the oxytocin she just hardly produced any milk. But the pups were pretty content (and fat! LOL) so figured they had to be getting enough.
  14. Hi Leema, the pups all sound quite healthy. Mum is already on fenugreek. Is she drinking a lot? Maybe also encourage her to drink more. A trip to the vet might be in order to see what s/he thinks and perhaps some medication to help increase the milk supply if needed. Are the pups otherwise content after feeding? Also do the pinch test to make sure they're not dehydrated. My babies carry on like crazy when feeding but mum has plenty of milk. If she didn't have much, i'd think they were carrying on about not getting enough!
  15. Izzy and her babies are doing quite well. We've had a few issues with 'snuffly' pups when the milk let down and they're drinking too quickly, and one is on antibiotics, but i'm keeping an eye on them. Big time wasters! Anyway, a few cute piccies:
  16. YAYYY! Awesome news LP! Most vets i've been to do count, but ultrasounds aren't very reliable for numbers, just confirmation. Never had one right yet and that includes the big repro vets! LOL. This time we had 6 at 4 weeks, 7 at 6 weeks, and she ended up having 9 (with 2 stillborn)
  17. oohhh, drats! I came in to see if there was any news yet LP. What time is Zara's ultrasound???
  18. Crossing everything for tomorrow LP! Izzy was difficult this time too, then suddenly was showing signs at 4.5 weeks. She has been mated twice before (first was unsuccessful) and both times she went quiet (she's usually mental LOL). This time she was even crazier than usual, so i wasn't convinced she was pregnant until we ultrasounded her.
  19. LOL just got in on the November litters IG! Congratulations, and all the best for an easy whelping!
  20. I feed Izzy in the whelping box too - room service! They're usually happier to leave their brood after a few days :)
  21. Izzy is just doting on her babies, and enjoying the 'room service' . Hope she doesn't get too used to that!
  22. Izzy and babies at a few hours old :) Pockets, love the photo's. I grew up with GSD's and will always adore them :)
  23. Congrats GL!!! RIP to the two little angels . Wow - sooo... does that mean I can call on you to help whelp mine in a few weeks (hopefully!) since you are such a pro!!? hahaha! LOL i'm not sure i'd call myself a pro at whelping. Actually i felt i was a little rusty!!! My last litter was a c-section - that was pretty easy! Give me a yell though if you need a hand :) hm placenta in the hair? could be a new fashion trend you started! cologne: Eau De Whelp Placental Hair pieces Water Sac Tye-dye clothes Yep, its a new thing often seen at dog shows and vets..... I think you're on to something!! I could make a fortune with placenta products!!
  24. lol Kadbury - it was a shocker!! It was like a dog hopping coming in from the water, and shaking everywhere, only it wasn't water - and not just once!! Several times, plus all the running around the kitchen/dining area sloshing gunk everywhere LOL. I've really never had a whelping like that. Sure the box, the bitch and the floor is a mess, but i don't generally have placenta hanging from my head
