  1. I've tried kelp too, but it hasn't helped. I don't think there's much that we can do - just wait for the warmer months!
  2. It will take a few days, but there are a few sellers on ebay who stock them and will send then. I've purchased from puppypower_77 and pets-station (or similar) a few times. Just do a search for puppy pens
  3. Could also consider Sentinel Spectrum which does fleas as well.
  4. I'm not 100% sure, but the Pet goods direct in Cranbourne is owned by Pets Paradise too.. not sure about the others.
  5. I looked at it the other day as they had some on sale. The 2 bags i checked out listed maize as their first ingredient though... not sure about other formulas.
  6. It looks like a great food, but i won't purchase it for the same reasons as written above. The large breed puppy is 24% protein i think which is better than most puppy formulas. I have also emailed the company. I think the more people they get emailing them the more chance that they will let other retailers sell Innova.
  7. I don't think there's much of a comparison. Have a look at the ingredients on the back of the pack. The first ingredients on most Advance products is (whatever meat eg chicken and byproducts).
  8. I don't feed EP alone, but i find that a 15kg pack lasts for around 2 to 2.5 months for 2 Goldens. I do also feed bones, cottage cheese, yoghurt, some Vets All Natural mix & beef, etc. though
  9. I don't think Euk is a bad food, but there are certainly better foods out there for the same amount of money, such as Nutro Natural Choice, Eagle Pack Holistic and Nutrience Holistic. I feed my girls EP holistic - no smelly farts here either!
  10. More than likely it's the Supercoat. We had the same problem when feeding it... smelly farts, smelly coat and huge poos! LOL (what a great topic!)
  11. I had one girl who developed an inflammatory bowel problem about 3 days after the 12 week vaccination... lasted 3 weeks. I can't be sure that it was the vaccination, but i also couldn't find anything else that could have caused it.
  12. LOL it's not easy. I caught one with a dog food scoop not long ago but i think it was a fluke!!
  13. One of my girls gets bathed every 1 to 2 months and the other every 2 to 3 months in general. I do it myself and use either Fido's Puppy & Kitten shampoo or Aloveen. I'm pretty lucky though that i have dogs with very little coat odour!
  14. For that price the food had better turn my dog into Prince Charming!
  15. I sometimes wonder if there is a phenomena that concerns pups and loose bowels around 10 - 12 weeks of age. Every pup i've ever had seems to suffer from it despite what food i have fed. Anyone else find that?
  16. That's great to hear. Also 3/4 of a cup might be a little too much. I would try 1/2 cup 3 times a day and see how she goes.
  17. LOL yep... any plants you don't want eaten, protect them like Fort Knox! I don't have many left, but they're now behind fences!
  18. I'm not sure if there is a particular time to cut out a meal for your breed, but i would imagine that you could decrease to 2 meals now.
  19. Agree with blacklabrador. It's a diuretic, so best given in the morning if it's just once a day.
  20. We feed Eagle Pack holistic to our golden girls here as well and are very happy with it.
  21. I'm not sure why they do it, so i asked my chief poo roller, Jazzy and she reckons it makes her feel a million bucks! Each to their own i guess!
  22. If it's any help kitcat, i get my Eagle Pack delivered (same price as at Robbo's and other stores). I use: K9 Katz & kitchen: http://k9katzkitchen.com.au/store/index.ph...Cat&catId=1
  23. Hi Cath, Pups don't need tinned food... it's mostly water (and quite expensive water considering it has very little nutritional value). Do look into BARF but best to get your head around it first. Alternatively feed a super-premium food. My choice of food for golden pups is Eagle Pack Large and Giant breed puppy as this food can safely be used in combination with bones and other bits and pieces and it's protein level isn't too high. It can also be used for 12 months or so. Try to keep the level of protein at 24% or lower as you want to grow your pup slowly. If you choose another premium/super-premium brand with a more protein, then switch to the adult food at 5 months of age. You can feed rice, but it's just a filler really. Vegies need to be basically mushed up as they cannot digest them otherwise. Some people stick them through a juicer (and add the juice back into the mix at the end). Other things i feed my golden girls include: chicken necks and carcasses, lambs necks (cut in half), brisket bones, sardines in oil (home brand is fine), whole raw eggs (but only 1 a month for a puppy), cottage cheese, human grade mince, natural set yoghurt, and an omega blend for a great coat. In the 'photo' section there is a golden retriever thread... we'd love to see some pics of Leah!
