Sorry, I am looking to reopen this thread as I have further questions
I am currently looking at a dog from a breeder who claims to be registered (but with the MDBA) not with dogs NSW or any other group who run actual check ups
I understand that breeders don't want every tom, dick and Harry visiting their home. But am I being unreasonable to insist that I will not purchase a puppy unless she allows me to pick it up from her site, not from a random meeting place.
She cited the risk of parvo and infection control. But all pups would be 9 weeks old, I was willing to change shoes / wash on arrival or bring brand new shoes. And she claims to socialise the puppies with her 19 grandchildren. But that they "treat hygiene like second nature"
So question for the honest, ethical dog breeders. Do you have strict level of keeping people out I mean. At this point i would have paid her 4k. So a lot money if I'm trying to just get a look to steal dogs.
She answered all my questions about #of litters, dog retirement and puppy socialisation perfectly. But let's be real. Anyone can say anything
How does the average person work out which breeder is the real deal and not just a dodgy gumtree seller with a fancy website
