  1. I've also put my dogs on seaweed for many years, and then it got terribly expensive so I stopped. I'm not sure they helped that much. My older one has good teeth but my younger one has terrible teeth. The one i used was called plaque off, the reviews says it does miracles for some owners (google the product on amazon US, you will find a lot more reviews). You only need a tiny amount.
  2. i have two of these. They are intelligent and both have different personalities. Was from different breeders but turns out on their family tree they share the same grandfather. For grooming, i was worried about this before I got one. But I don't think they are high maintenance at all. For mine, they are not show dogs just family dogs. I do clip them every 6-8 weeks during summer and leave their fur to grow during winter to keep them warm. I hardly brush them at all, probably once every fortnight. Sometimes their hair mattes up but i just cut it, no big deal. They don't shed, so great for people with allegies.
  3. i love frenchies. Dog they have the same bloodline as pugs?
  4. it is a change in the environment that could have triggered it. I used to have a senior chihuahua mix, when my sister who doesn't live with me visits, my chihuahua was fine with her and loving towards her. Then my sister one day got a beagle puppy. My chihuahua hated him with a passion probably because he was hyperactive and my chihuahua didn't want anything to do with it. My dog started hating the visits from my sister (and my sister for that matter) as she would always bring him along... to the point where he would growl before they even got out of the car.
  5. My two schnauzer sleep apart during summer, never would I find them together. During winter, even with sweaters and layers of blankets, I find them often snuggle together when they are sleeping. Its actually quite funny. My younger boy would rest his head on my elder's behind. Better than a soft pillow!
  6. Isn’t vaccicheck also sent to labs? If not how accurate?
  7. My boy got his molars taken out, I don’t think the remaining teeth are string enough for bones. I don’t want to be giving them greenies or the likes to clean their teeth as I’ve heard horror stories. i brush his teeth but I don’t think it’s as effective as bones.
  8. Sounds like my boy :D Is it still a good idea to feed him bones. I regularly give my boys pork knuckle bones (like the big bones from flintstones). The fact he has less teeth now, would the bones do him more harm than good because it now how less strength to break it down.
  9. I was wondering how dogs can still eat when half or more than half of their teeth has been taken out? Is it still okay to give them bones to chew on?
  10. My vet also told me about this one but said it was drowsy. Good to know it’s only on humans
  11. My vet says out of all the antihistamine aerius seems to be the most effective. I was just trying to see whether this is a reflection to what most people see on this forum as well.
  12. Has anyone used Aerius for their dog's allergies? I currently used claratyne as advised by my vet. But recently he asked me to switch to Aerius which is a different kind of antihistamine (Desloratadine) saying it has better results. Claratyne works for one of my boy but not the other. I'm keen to try Aerius and was wondering whether anyone has used this. Its more expensive than claratyne and I"m yet to find a generic brand. I don't mind paying for it if its effective. My boy has itchy skin
  13. What toothpaste are you using, perhaps it’s not flavourful enough?
  14. Oh sorry I misread your post, you are asking for a giant one. Sorry no idea. you can try these https://bjenterprises.com.au/products/ezysafe-bag-sealer-sticks-xl?variant=14299436712034&currency=AUD&gclid=Cj0KCQjwrdjnBRDXARIsAEcE5YkF5wmCHtllt7nX5bpwGS9oc59MVzWEHBua9TGrCCfs7ZVPvOQgVeYaAhmFEALw_wcB you can probably get them at bargain shops for cheaper, they work well. I’m not sure how big your back opening is but these rods are about 28cm or so. Comes in different sizes
  15. I never thought this was possible I just do it with a toothbrush. They hate it but they tolerate it. I can't imagine an electric toothbrush.
  16. My sister got a puppy not long ago. Now when she sees other dogs at the park, she will tell her boy to smell the other's bum . When both dogs exchange each other's bum without fear, she knows they are good to go play together.
  17. I have another question now that you mention that a dog does not use all its teeth to eat bones. My two I suspect doesn't chew their kibbles, both just woofs it down, I'm always curious how they are able to just swallow it. I never hear the crunch crunch sound when they eat, could that be a reason for his bad teeth because they don't chew? But my other boy has better dental condition and doesn't have the bad doggy breath my younger one has. Both are no longer puppies, they are almost 10.
  18. thanks for that, not sure what i can do but usually when i see dogs off leash, i walk the other way.
  19. my sister is also looking for a home boarding for her cavoodle a few days in July, @kamuzz can you please let me know if you find someone? I'll do the same if she does. I think oodles do better at home boarding than in kennels. Thanks.
