Help! My Friend Said They Are Buying A Dog
t-time replied to fiveplusone's topic in General Dog Discussion
A well-bred pet Havanese will put you back approx. $1500 - $1800 but there have been a couple of youngsters recently advertised for less - 6-8 months and haven't worked out for the show ring etc. Owning both breeds, I would actually recommend a Tibetan Terrier to a family with 2 boys of this age. Young boys want a dog that is big enough to kick a football with - not the dog ending up being a football LOL! :D TTs are larger Cocker Spaniel size rather than a Toy breed with the same qualities and similar looks as a Havanese. Expect to pay approx. $1000 for a TT and remember to contact the Puppy Enquiries Registrar for the Tibetan Terrier Association - that'd be ME!! -
Jetpets for my pooches as well

Elina - feel free to PM me if you come up to Brisbane or the Sunshine Coast - no house-sitting but if you need somewhere to stay for a few days or a week, you can walk dogs and help me groom!! And teach some manners to my crew as they seem to have forgotten in the past month!

Loving IOD here! Though I only use it for show baths as it's too expensive for maintenance baths!

This *very* much depends on the breed Parkeyre so try to keep that in mind next time you post! There is a reason that Baby Puppies can be be shown with one or none Many breeds and Toy breeds in particular can take a lot longer for testicles to drop. To the OP: I hope you can encourage the RSPCA to wait for this boy. Amanda is correct in her post so an ultrasound could be a good way to go or as Parkeyre mentioned, he can still be desexed at the regular RSPCA age but the vet will have to open him up to get the second testicle.

Caboolture K/club - Nov Show - Change Of Venue

In the main arena like last year? -
NO from me As Dyzney has said -if there's an older dog in the equation for a new home then it's far better for the new owner to introduce the pup to the older dog when the older dog is on familiar ground.

What Would You Do? Job Overseas Vs Dogs
t-time replied to chichihuahua's topic in General Dog Discussion
As long as your dog can stay with your parents and they care for him with as much enthusiasm as you do - I would leave him here until you decide if he would be better off with you in another country. It's a really exciting time of your life but moving you AND your dog is a big step. Do you know where you will be living when you get there? Will it be suitable for the lifestyle your dog is accustomed to? (ie. home with garden here to a small flat in a concrete jungle there?) This is a career opportunity so I would expect you would have long hours to prove yourself - who will care for your dog while you are work? What if you are offered further overseas employment - perhaps somewhere different? Will you simply be too exhausted to provide your dog with the same care you give him when in Australia? Which country are you going to? Quarantine periods are very different when leaving Australia and then getting back in can be another story.... What age is your dog? And expected lifespan of his breed? I know that may seem like a callous question but putting a 6 yr old dog through quarantine is fine if he's only half way through his life but a large breed with a shorter life expectancy - well he might be a *very* old dog in 2 yrs time when you will have to put him through the whole process again?? Tell you what I'd do - explore similar opportunities here in Australia 'cos I'm sucker like everyone else and I wouldn't want to leave my dog! IF the position OS is just too fabulous to pass up - go over, set yourself up and give it 3 months to settle in and THEN make the decision about your dog. -
Soak the kibble and feed it every meal until she will eat it. Totally agree with Showdog and teething almost *should* be the problem at the moment Love your diet ideas but also practice the K.I.S.S. principle - keep it simple stupid Your pup is 13 weeks and feeding her soaked kibble at the moment will give her a good diet and keep the fussiness at bay. Introduce some new foods or extra foods once she is on her kibble properly.

Best Shampoo And Conditioner

I use Plush Puppy Pin Brush on my hair too! -
Ditto what Ellz said - I have found Jetpets to be excellent with several international transports. I would offer the full refund in this circumstance. Regardless of your personal financial state atm, FIND the money and get this woman out of your hair. It's an absolute tragedy from all sides. In future if you do decide to export again, I get the buyers to pay Jetpets directly rather than transferring from their account to yours and then to the transport company.

Oooohhhhh....Vitapoint was really expensive You're bringing back the memories for me Ellz! WHOAH! - talk about reactive! Nicole - I can't see Lowenhart criticising anywhere here Just offering some good information Out of curiosity, why can't you use human products on customers dogs? And if you were to buy human stuff for your Afghan you could always use it on your own hair! -

I think it's good to remove yourself from selling your puppies and pretend you are selling someone else's!! It seems easier to weigh up the pros & cons of dog ownership and breed ownership first and then get into the nitty-griity once you have a couple of interested parties and know your own puppies a little better I then find it a lot easier to match puppies with prospective owners depending on the owners' likes & dislikes, whether the actual BREED is right for them to start off and then whether or not you have a puppy which is suitable for the interested party.

You *can* use a human roll-on type but pretty sure it would have to be reapplied similarly to the Troy. :D

I'd would definitely recommend a Tibetan Spaniel. Friends of mine got into Tibbies purely because that was the breed their 9 yr old girl decided on They shed but not as bad as true short coats like Pugs, small enough to take to bed, get walked by a 9 yr old, easy for a 9 yr old to groom and learn the responsibilities of dog ownership, certainly will get on with an older dog like a Boxer and sturdy enough not to get "broken" by said dog. I can't think of another breed that would be better under the circumstances

Difference Between Main And Limited Register?
t-time replied to Shmurps's topic in General Dog Discussion
A "unethical" breeder, puppy miller or BYB doesn't give a toss about which register the bitch is on as long as it's entire As long as Breeder "A" provides what you want in the way of health testing, conformation of sire & dam and the puppy with "show potential" you are looking at purchasing, why wouldn't you go with Breeder "A" - because of rumour or negative opinion from others? For me, I would want proof for myself as to Breeder "A"s ethics or lack of... Obviously Breeder "B" will not sell you a "show potential" pup without negotiation, so if that's the breeder you really want to go with, ASK if they are prepared to sell a "show potential" puppy on Main Register. -
What's FOC? ;)

Unless your breeder has given you a specific recommendation, go with your Lab's body condition. ;) Should look "healthy" have a nice shiny coat and preferably you should be able to feel ribs easily (but not see them!!) It's REALLY important that you don't overfeed as this will cause way more problems structurally than underfeeding at this stage and giving into those pleading Lab eyes sure doesn't help! ;) Hope this helps!
