Eaglepack - I've got the small breed formula here and just checked the ingredients - it has wheat germ meal in it. The only time any dogs have had a reaction to the ACV is when they have had broken skin in their ears - it stings like CRAZY! But as a regular day-to-day ear cleaner is it very good.

Amber - it could be anything.... are you sure she is pregnant? If she is, please take her to a vet! If you are not experienced with having litters, post into the Breeders Form - you can post and answer your own thread. That said, there's a lot of good advice to found so don't hestitate to ask questions. If you are not a registered breeder, pleased be prepared for a million questions but the most important thing is to get your girl right!

$180 for babesia testing is good - I inquired at 3 vets and each one wanted to charge around the $300 mark Through Jetpets, the babesia testing was circa $180 as well so your vet is doing a good deal there! Pity you're not local as I reckon that crate is a good buy! But yeah, try the airlines.

Have you or the new owner also contacted Jetpets? I found JP to be nearly $300 cheaper for transport to NZ and it included babesia testing. You can still purchase crates from Dogtainers - you don't need to be flying with them. ;) Or else you'll have to just keep an eye out on the DOL For Sale pages ;) ETA : There is a giant Vari crate on the For sale pages and it's only $350 - GOOD PRICE for these crates - best of all - it's in SE QLD

You can chip pups in Qld at 6 wks now if you want - another change as they realised that reg breeders needed earlier chipping for health testing purposes. My current litter have been chipped at 7 weeks and if I had purchasers lined up, the papers went straight into their name. HOWEVER - you have to know the council area and full address/ph no. details for the new owners.

Me! I've got 2 Havs entered and a Tibetan Terrier Come and have some baby Havanese cuddles!
-
Either get a microchip reader or else use ribbons/puppy id tags for the ones you're not sure about Just get a felt pen of the same colour to id the microchip numbers on the papers of each puppy.

Best of luck SP! Whoo - so excited for you!

I wouldn't have my most recent champion girl if it wasn't for my partner not giving up! When she was born she was 76 grams and hardly had any hair. The next pup was coming out breach and he was a WHOPPER! (ask BMP!) and I passed her to my partner and said "she's dead - get rid of her" 45 minutes later she was active, alive, thriving and has never looked back I will always break sacs over the face for a breath if Mum is fluffing around.

Thanks for that Cass and WELL DONE on Dante's wins!! Seems that Bronwyn had a fab weekend too!

Hope you are all ok up there??? heard there were some storms heading your way........ Would love to hear some results.

That's EXCELLENT! My vet does microchipping for $35 and if you have a CCCQ registered dog, you can go to any of the free health days at Durack and pay approx.$30 for microchipping.

My Tibetan Terrier has helped raise the last 3 litters whelped here - first litter, she had never had her own pups and she cleaned and protected and came into full milk! Now she just has to look at a baby puppy and starts milking up Very handy except she is still cleaning the 12 week old pups now whereas the Mother told them to bugger off weeks ago! It's GREAT to have a helper!

Yes I've heard of them - but no we don't have any in Oz Check out the World Dog Show website and you get to see some very different breeds

I hear you Ellz - I still have 4 of my lil ferals here - one going next week definitely but hopefully 2 will go! But I still have to deal with the public as one of my boys still needs a new home :D

LUV dog bikkies! :D The dog was lucky to get any! Glad to see that some still remember them My Grandparents used to feed their Danes those bikkies while our girl just got tinned Pal and scraps - they were RICH man - even their dogs got better bikkies than us  We LOVED them!

Along with Poodlefan, my first thought is Liver Shunt as well. Particularly with the seizure followed by aggression - unfortunately that sort of disorientation coupled with the aggression is common with Liver Shunt whereas not so common when it's epilepsy but no doubt, there is someone with an epileptic dog who would disagree! If it is Liver Shunt, the symptoms won't go away now so you will know pretty soon - the disorientation continues and becomes more frequent. Hope your little one is doing a bit better.

Appointments Or Walk-in At Vets...
t-time replied to stormie's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
The other week I was taking my 8 week old pups to the vets for their chip & checkup. I called prior and made an appointment for the vets' first client in the day so that the surgery was all ultra-clean and had no other patients before my babies. Because there were 6 babies, we had a one hour time slot which gave plenty of time for babies to be looked at without rushing them, watch them play and all the staff to have a play and a cuddle! Now THAT'S great service! -
Have you got piggies where your dogs are as well? I LOVE PIGS!!! :D Anyway, short answer is yes - lime has a burning effect on human skin, dogs paws and prolly lil' piglets too Malawash in a spray pack might be a better option because you and piggies and doggies are safe once it dries
-
You can sprinkle Lime or around your yard - if you lime, you have to keep the dogs off the ground for 24 hours or else hose in the lime powder. If there are that many fleas on the ground you need to do something reasonably toxic to get rid of them (you can spray Malawash with a spray pack) and also under those circumstances you are getting bitten too if you are out on the grass???? Otherwise try Capstar in conjunction with your other flea treatment and when you do it ensure that you wash all bedding and soft furnishings (carpets etc) with Eucalyptus wool wash. Vacuum household areas after you dry out and also look at setting off fleabombs for inside the house - sleep somewhere else for a night or 2! Just some suggestions. It's really dry here as well but we don't have any fleas!
