  1. Actually, I do mean the lens solution It's a brand that humans can use to go straight from lens cleaner solution into eyes - however, I only do the staining with it. Excellent for stains as it has disinfectant to kill off bacteria - you should check your brands as some of them have Boracic Acid - even better for stains LOL but not good to go into the eyes. But you know what? Tomato paste sounds a lot easier!
  2. I didn't want to suggest this earlier because I didn't think the look of the breed would appeal but after the "Spoodle" comment - what about a Tibetan Terrier? Around 16inches at the shoulder, solid, medium-sized, non-shedding, great family dog, enough independence to occupy itself, easily toilet trained, would love a jog for an hour after the first year of puppyhood - I can't remember what your other requirements are but I remember when I read what you were wanting in a breed I thought, "A TT would be perfect......except for the coat"..... Bottom line is, if brushing is a problem then get the dog clipped 3 or 4 times per year but being an ancient purebred breed, the coat type is very predictable. This is Tashi - a Tibetan Terrier in a pet clip - I like her feet to be longer and the hair over her eyes but you can get them clipped as short as you like.
  3. Just looks like skin irritation from something - perhaps he was bitten there by an ant? Excellent advice Dagmar!
  4. What about a rescue dog which has already been temperament tested for kids, energy levels, neediness etc? Most of the breeds you suggested are very high shedders. You can't take ANY pup on an hours' jog every night so that sort of exercise might have to wait until the dog is at least a year old. Once again, a decent walk/jog for an older rescue dog would be perfect for you. Your family dog when you were small may have been an English Toy Terrier?
  5. The title of the thread is about "grain-free" food and yet when you have posted the ingredients PSA - this product has grain?? I know my DOGS would much rather eat the latter!! Although they are partial to the odd roast....
  6. If nothing else, try a chiropractor.
  7. LOL Stitch Yep ACV with the cloudy "mother" in it - shake it before you use it and most times it's easier if you put it in food - I've found it takes longer for the dog to adjust if the ACV is in water Is she also allergic to yoghurt/dairy? I do find Yakult to be excellent or even that "Inner Health Plus" might be good? Expensive but probably worth it to improve the good gut bacteria?
  8. What about trying to neutralise the acidity in the urine as well? Can't hurt! Add some Apple Cider Vinegar to her drinking water or food and in addition up the ante by putting natural yoghurt in her food. I know you've prolly "heard it all before" but it might be worth a try? ETA because I can't spell neutralise!
  9. Just a note about protexin - I haven't used it myself but other threads on here have suggested that it is completely ineffective if given in conjunction with ABs? I do realise it's the Mums on ABs but will it still be effective under the circumstances?
  10. Thanks Christina But I was using it for more than one dog hence the big expense Should've explained that in my last post On the Optrex note, I wash faces with contact lens solution - just another hint
  11. Short answer is yes You could ad natural yoghurt or yakult to the diet of the Mums or alternatively supplement the wee babes with a bit of this as well but if they are feeding well, I'd let the good stuff go through in Mums' milk
  12. I've tried Angeleyes and it does work really well - VERY EXPENSIVE!! And to be honest, I just haven't been able to afford to get some more....tomato paste next on my shopping list!
  13. Well I got an email from Gumtree this morning telling me they had removed my ad because it was "fraudulent"......I never had an ad on Gumtree......so maybe there's a problem with the site atm?? I haven't seen my "ad" and I have no idea whether or not they have used my dogs or anything?
  14. Happy Birthday Julie! Many happy returns and may all your wishes come true.
  15. If you look at his vaccination card, it will tell you which vaccine he was given when he was a puppy and they literally do a "top-up" of the same or similar vaccination. ie. C3, C4, C5 Just make sure he's feeling healthy and well on the day of the vaccination and there shouldn't be any issues. So, it's ok - not big and scary The heartworm yearly is a separate item and as you are already using heartworm prevention, there is no need to change unless you want to. Don't be bullied into anything you don't feel comfortable with - do ask your vet questions even if they are silly or simple - this is how you learn. I'm with you about the heartworm injection!
  16. Thanks Wilderblu. I'll leave the Adelaide directions up to my friend - he is experienced with the "Adelaide" part - I am experienced with the "getting dogs as excess baggage" part!
  17. Aaah yes - you do have to drop off elsewhere for Virgin at Brisbane and Sydney That's why I like QANTAS Thanks Sparky Tansy. Yes, after discussions with my friend and a very kind PM , Adelaide won't let you take a dog into the terminal And it's $50 regardless even if the dog is going as excess baggage I travelled with my dog last month - QANTAS - Sydney to Brissy - took her in a crate, into the airport and checked her in like she was suitcase - a large suitcase 'cos they do have to go through the same place as surfboards etc. I had my own little plane bag and she was my 23kg check in baggage. Got off my flight in Brisbane, went to the baggage carousel and there she was in the large baggage area. No extra charges as she was my check-in baggage. EASY AS! Why do other places have to make it so damn hard!!??! ;)
  18. Tibetan Terriers also come in those colours mentioned and are on the "Ancient Breeds" list.
  19. Thanks Oakydoak - I don't know what size dogs you have but with the littlies in crates you can take them right into the terminal at both Sydney & Brisbane airports and essentially, you check them in with your suitcase!
  20. Have a friend coming up from Adelaide next week with QANTAS. Small dog is going excess baggage but does anyone know if you can take dogs (in crates) through the terminal? Or do you have to drop them off elsewhere for Adelaide? Thanks in advance.
  21. Here was my Tully - he was a Border Collie X (from Rescue) his doppleganger up the road was a Labrador X Poodle but Tully was wire-haired and the dog up the road had a soft coat. http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?act=...st&id=67466
  22. In Qld you have the purchaser sign an agreement that they understand what the Limited Register is prior to actual purchase - no misunderstandings and it's there in B&W.
  23. All natural calcium is just fine. :D Just no commercial supplements until there is a puppy on the ground! Crossing my fingers for you.
