My vet always does the SDMA as part of the check up.

Chicken, turkey & duck are lower in phosphorus . My dog has veggies, rice & cooked chicken for dinner with some renal pouches . Beef is higher in phosphorus. Has the vet said whether your dog has acute or chronic kidney disease.

Did they take his blood pressure?

5 years ago I purchased a pedigree pup from QLD. I paid full price for the pup and it was on MR. Within 6 months the dog was diagnosed with a serious hereditary condition. As it had stunted growth (Giant Breed) due to this hereditary condition it could not be shown or bred with. It was extremely small compared to the rest of the litter. We were shocked at how small the pup was when we picked it up at the airport. It was half the size of the sibling in the cage next to it. Pedigree on MR. Several months ago I paid full price for a pup from a litter that were "all show quality". Extremely reputable breeder whom I had known personally for a long time. Although show quality all pups on LR.

I agree with the muzzle. If he does bite someone and they report it to Council you may be up for fines or court. Prevention is the key here. -
I agree with Rebanne. It sounds like an old dog thing.

I would go for a Labrador Retriever or Golden Retriever . All of the cattle dogs around my area bark non-stop.

What is the Purpose of the Limited Register?

Coneye What you have said has been my exact experience. I have always paid for show quality on MR but didn't show. This time it appears I paid for show quality on LR. -

This is my first experience of LR in over 30 years of purchasing the same breed. All other dogs I purchased were automatically on MR. Previously LR was never mentioned when I bought a pup. -

So do pups on LR sell for the same price as pups on MR? -

Why would breeders produce a litter from 2 champion show dogs and sell the entire litter on LR with the exception of the 2 dogs staying with the breeder & owner of the sire. The entire litter was apparently "show quality" yet the litter was sold with an agreement for purchasers to accept LR. Does LR protect the breeder legally. -

If a dog was purchased on a Limited Register can the LR be changed back to Main Register on the breeders request ? In NSW that is. -
It drives me absolutely crazy when I see dogs off leash on busy streets. They do it all the time in my street. It's quiet for Inner Sydney but there are still passing cars and other dogs walking to the park. Half the time the dogs are way in front of the owners or way behind. Talk about having absolutely no control over your dog.

Definitely Havanese. I'm not a small dog person but all the Havanese I have met in the park have been absolutely delightful.

LMO it takes a special person to do what you do. Giving love and hope to older discarded dogs. Thank goodness there are people like you to take care of these dogs and bring happiness into their lives.

Help - Jodie's not well, not sure what to do
Deeds replied to Katdogs's topic in General Dog Discussion
She may have had a seizure and the poo hanging from her was because she defecated during the seizure. As well the pacing you described is consistent with post ictal pacing after a seizure. Dogs can also become temporarily blind during and after a seizure. -
Anyone who buys one of those dogs will be spending a fortune on the dogs at local & Specialist Veterinary Clinics.

Adding a new dog into a 2 dog household

My packs of 3 were all the same breed. I don't know if that helped the ambience or not. -
Adding a new dog into a 2 dog household

I've often had 2 entire males & 1 female (obviously desexed) and they have all lived happily together. The females always came to me as urgent rehomes so they were the last to enter the pack. And they were usually around 5 yrs old when I got them. Everyone got on famously. I don't think I would put 2 females together from what I've heard over the years. -
You did do your best for her. She was lucky you took her in. I'm very sad for you & Katie. It's never easy making that appointment.

I knew the original enquiry was in regard to a mini schnauzer.

BTW if you do find a tick and remove it you can apply some Advantix to the wound in order to kill every thing off . Just in case there are some bits or venom still there.

If the dog keeps having seizures one after another he is in danger of going into Status Epilepticus and that can be life threatening. https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/seizures-general-for-dogs
