I know. We've all seen it before and read about it before. And still it keeps happening. So frustrating some people don't keep their dogs enclosed, train them or choose appropriate breeds for where they live etc
  3. I have given one of my dogs radiation for Osteosarcoma. I live in Sydney so I didn't have accomodation problems. Can you board the dog at the vets where he is having the radiation? Otherwise I would ring the vet clinic (which I am assuming is ARH) and ask the vet nurses if they know of any pet friendly accomodation nearby. My dog had his radiation done at the Gladesville Vet Clinic in Gladesville Sydney.
  4. Some puppies are harder work than others. Even when you get the same breed over many years. There's always one that takes more patience and training than the others. I know because I've got one of those at the moment. Very hard work. Unlike his predecessors who were easy going and easy to train.
  5. No. Don't just stop without consulting your vet. There are medical reasons as to why you can't just stop Macrolone . Vets always advise to taper off the dose just as your vet has done. I have always been advised to taper the dose when I've had to use it. If you are that concerned maybe you should contact your vet anyway.

  8. There's a lot of that. Very frustrating particularly for the people who go to the trouble to post advice.

  11. Even imported dogs can throw off sub standard pups which are still sold for thousands and at the last minute the buyer is asked to sign an agreement they will accept the dog on the Limited Register . Even though the "entire litter is show quality". And purchased from a registered ANKC breeder.. There appears to be no straight forward dog purchases anymore even though the dogs cost far more after Covid than they did pre Covid. My last puppy purchase 6 months ago was completely different to all my other straight forward puppy purchases. In the past all that was involved was to pay the asked price for the right pedigree and all on the Main Register.
  12. I have an entire male dog that can't have anaesthetic because of kidney issue. I have had him chemically castrated with the implant Suplorin a couple of times. The implants last for 6 or 12 months. It works quite well. Less invasive than surgery.
  13. That's why Irish Wolfhounds are called "the heartbreak breed" because of their short life span. IW's are prone to Osteosarcoma and epilepsy . This has been well documented.
  14. We have a lot of Bernese Mountain dogs in my suburb. They get a lot of cancer and are notorious for not living very long . Some of them I have known have gotten cancer and died at 2 years of age. The owners have told me they get a lot of health problems.
  15. I had 2 curly coats when I was a teenager. A black and a liver curly coat. Loved them to death. Smart, obedient and easy to train and eager to please. Lovely smart dogs.
  16. The Tvorimir dogs have excellent temperaments.
  17. Good off leash and obedient. He never strays away from me even if I'm standing in the park talking with other people My dog has never tried to escape but he is in a inner city back yard. Definitely doesn't chase birds or possums etc. Perhaps ring my dog's breeder Natasha at Tvorimir. She is an expert on BRTs and she lives in Toowoomba.
  18. Black Russian Terrier. Lovely dogs ( I have one) and they were bred for guarding. My dog gets along with all the other dogs in the park especially small dogs. He is very tolerant of our pup and is a great guard dog. I would get another one in a heartbeat.
  19. Contact the Schnauzer Club of NSW. They have a list of breeders.
  20. Agree with what Powerlegs has said above. If possible I would change the Royal Canin to Royal Canin IBD. Changing to that on Vet's advice helped my dog when he had really bad diarrohea.
