How old is your dog and is she on any medication that would make her drink more water than usual i.e. Prednisone. It sounds like normal water drinking to me especially in the hot weather and after eating kibble or treats. And some dogs drink more water than others.

What breed is your dog? Could it be inherent in the breed.

And that's why they are called Am Staff in order to get around the bsl . Or so I have been told by various Pit Bull & Am Staff owners.
-
@coneye Exactly. I have been told this by pit bull owners .

In my experience training the husband is the hardest part.

I found 2 were easier than 3. Especially for walking. 3 is an odd number. Although I did use to walk the 3 of them together it was a lot harder than just the 2.

Meet the Border Collie Trained to Find Missing People Across NSW
Deeds replied to Deeds's topic in In The News
They interviewed this organisation on radio last night. Jato the dog's name stands for Jet Assisted Take Off. The trainers spoken to were extremely dedicated and welcomed volunteers into the organisation. Apparently they were partially funded by PetBarn. Good that PetBarn helps organisations such as this with their profits. -
I've always had 2 males and 1 female over a 30 year period with no problems at all. So I would say get a male. And I also think get the Kelpie X.
-
Depending on the breed I would probably get a male. What breed?
-
Are you getting a pup or an older dog ?

Sydney Dogs and Cats Home Animal Shelter Pleads for Help
Deeds replied to Deeds's topic in In The News
@Powerlegs I'm surprised Jamie Parker hasn't got involved in this one. I know he's got a lot on his plate but he has always stuck up for dogs in the past. -

Please note re the above post the name calling referred to related to only one poster and not any of the regular good natured DOLERS who are more than happy to share their experiences and advice with people asking for help.
-
It's a shame that we will probably never find out what was wrong with the pup. The absolute majority of replies in this thread just wanted to help Belinda because they realised how dire her situation was. The name calling didn't help and definitely lowered the tone for the rest of us who did give constructive advice. I hope Belinda does try to get an assessment done for the pup because despite everything she is fond of the pup. The assessment whether it is medical or K9 Pro may help her in making decisions about the pup's future.

Belinda74 Contact Steve Courtney @ K9 Pro. If you don't have any success there feel free to PM me re a trainer/behaviourist specialist I can highly recommend.

Has the dog been to the vet previously for its vaccinations? Did it bite the vet at the consult? At the very least it should be taken to the vet for a check up to see if there is anything medically wrong with the dog that may be causing the aggression.

Yes. The original post re biting and biting when woken dates back to Sept. 26. And the behaviour has fully escalated since then.
