Dogs Stolen from Dog Training Boot Camp & Boarding Facility
Deeds replied to Deeds's topic in In The News
Not what I would call "good" publicity losing 2 dogs and having it published all over the media. And the Boot Camp owner hasn't returned the $3000 in fees to the owners. One dog had only been there for 24 hours and the other had been at the facility for a week. -

@AmazetlWhen you say fully grown what age was he when he calmed down? I am currently in a similar situation to what you have described and yes it is hard at times.

One of my neighbours commented on my very healthy dog limping with "why don't you put him down". Needless to say I never answered and have never spoken to him again. This person had a small white fluffy that was never on a leash. Got fed table scraps and was never taken to the Vet for an extremely bad itch. My dog was well cared for and loved. Some people should just keep their mouths shut. And I wish they would when they have attitudes like that.

@LMDI've heard of them but I've only ever had one very elderly Giant with an eye problem. We went to the Nth Sydney Specialist Centre. Wasn't that impressed. Very expensive drugs that didn't suit the dog. We had to take the dog off the drugs before the course was half way through. And we didn't feel confident enough to take the dog back to them. Having confidence in your Vet and their diagnosis is a big part of going ahead with the surgery. One of the problems in Vet surgeries these days are the younger staff who move on quickly and don't have the experience and life skills the older Vets have.

@LMDThen best to stay with the one you trust and know. Is this the Eye Specialist from North Sydney Specialist Centre at St Leonards?

Vulnerable Breed Competition Final | Crufts 2023
Deeds replied to Boronia's topic in General Dog Discussion
Lovely looking Curly Coated Retriever. I used to own and show Curly Coats when I was a kid. Terrific dogs. And I'd love an Otter Hound. -
Would you consider a 2nd opinion from another Eye Specialist? More expense but If it comes to the same conclusion as the 1st Eye Specialist it may make your decision easier.

Absolutely we have all made mistakes and it is all trial and error. Even with medication. If my dog had a skin problem I would probably have tried the Aloveen because it is widely advertised as being for dogs with sensitive skin. Even Vets can get it wrong and give the wrong treatment or medication. What about trying the Calendula Rinse some of the Dolers have mentioned on here in the past. One woman in the park told me she had been to a Vet plus a Skin Specialist Vet for dogs, spent $3000 with no result. She had a Blue Staffy. She ended up getting the Cytopoint injection and the problem went away.

All of the Frenchies around here have a lot of skin problems.

@KazmI see Blackmores Paws Range for dogs have an Infected Skin Shampoo and Conditioner. They also have a Sensitive Skin Shampoo and Conditioner.
