Mine were 2 ex show dogs females who had 3 litters each . They were Giant Schnauzers and one lived to 16 and a half and the other to 17 years. Both with very few health problems during their lifetimes.

I wouldn't consider a 4 yr old dog to be old or be described as old.

I came across a blue merle rough coated collie in the park this morning. I've never seen a rough coat collie this colour. Absolutely spectacular looking dog.

Some years ago there were some Giant Schnauzers crossed with Irish Wolfhounds. There was a lot of epilespy and cluster seizures in the dogs. As Dogsfevr said it's a tragic outcome . And that applies to the dogs and the owners.
