Poodiful you need a serious wake up call... Im almost certain it was a toy poodle and a Maltese X that caused the death of a new born in the Uk a few years ago when the pair smothered the sleeping child in his cot! That is pretty um FATAL. Im not even going to dignify the rest with reply.

Hi Jibba, Yeah one is a deep almost mahogany red the other, not 100% sure at this stage, he looks red but has a lot of fawn in the coat and i had one like him b4 and he turned out to be a very lovely fawn so who knows... Kyuss, im expecting lots of flashy pieds, most colours are possible there so will be a mixed bag id say...Very excited about that breeding tho ;) Massive congrats on your new babies LizT they look adorable

Are they new in the area? Id be giving them the heads up on how things are in rural settings....If dogs get out and cause a problem around these parts , the owner is given the heads up, and time to rectify the issues, if the problem persists the dogs are shot! Its that simple....Farmers will not tolerate dogs on their land, Id be warning them of this...
-
They are the scum of the planet and the ppl who pay to see such atrocities are no better! I always smile when a circus animal turns on its tormentors ...death to the animal is a welcomed escape!

I give all relevant paper work plus i do a powerpoint presentation on CD, this contains everything they could want or need to know about the breed, and raising a dog, i also include a truck load of photos ...I used to print it all out and put it in a folder but why waste trees ? We add food, treats, toys blanket, life time support etc.

No its not...Im ranked the number 1 breeder in the country, she was the leader in 08 It does say that they were Number 1 in 2008. They seem to have some lovely dogs :D Wouldnt know as i havent visited the website....I was just replying to the question asked... warley raises important points....Have a look at whats been bred from the kennels you like they are normally good indicators of what you can expect.

Scattering dog food or treats around any area when that dog shares the area with another dog is NOT a wise idea at all, even if the dog is alone at the time, theres a good chance he wont find all the treats and then when both are out together it could be the cause of a fight especially as Rhino would believe those treats to be his! I strongly recommend you refrain from doing that Instead try feeding Electra outside and Rhino inside that way u can remove his bowl right away...His uncle Cody likes to mark his bowl after every meal and thats really annoying also but i live with it lol ewwww...

QUESTIONS 1. What is my relationship with the breed? (ie breeder, first time owner etc) Breeder, exhibitor , solid AST lover and owner to far too many lol 2. Where and why was the breed first developed? USA basically ... 3. How common is it in Australia? Very common but strangely enough they still fetch a high price which is only making them even more common as the B-yarders jump on the band wagon! 4. What is the average lifespan? 10 - 15 years 5. What is the general temperament/personality? Ted to be DA with strange dogs, but are extremely loyal to their packs ( others may differ here ) but i know my gang adore each other and they also adore my CC and Tentie, My gang are extremely good watch dogs, they will do anythiing for their mum and they just love to please, great family dogs but they require a firm hand they are not the sort of breed i recommend be babied. 6. How much daily exercise is needed for the average adult? i would say an hour a day if u only have one or 30 mins a day if u have two ( u will find having two they work each out all day long ) but my guys get twice an hour a day of additional exercise. 7. Is it a breed that a first time dog owner could easily cope with? NO, not easy but not undo able....nothiing easy about a dog that requires some knowledge when it comes to socialization ...In the wrong hands this could turn into trouble.... 8. Can solo dogs of this breed easily occupy themselves for long periods? I can only speak from my own experiences but i find the breed hates being alone, they can become destructive if left alone for long periods . 9. How much grooming is required? Not a lot, although they tend to shed white hairs like a dog possessed lol 10. Is it too boisterous for very small children or for infirm people (unless the dog is well trained)? Yes on the infirm ppl but if the dog is in the right home with the right ppl then young kids are not a problem....My guys adore kids and they change the way they play when kids are around.... 11. Are there any common hereditary problems a puppy buyer should be aware of? HD, ED, eyes hearts and ataxia, overall the breed is very healthy.
-
I have given u advice re this problem in the AST thread but its my opinion that a PRONG collar is not for you! They should only be used by ppl who know what they are doing and they certainly arnt for newbies.... Get a check chain and have a go at the advice i left on the ast thread....Stay away from harnesses ! They are not what an AST should be walked on and they allow a powerful dog even more power thew sporn ones have NO effect on an AST and they are certainly not something i wouldnt ever walk an AST on... You can use a halter with a check chain attacked as back up...( always have the back up as ive seen many dogs slip a halter! )

LOL Anne that pic u posted makes them both look as those butter wouldnt melt in their mouths lol But I know better!! I never forget the fuss Rhino put up when i had to leave him at the airport lol noisy bugger.... If it gets too much for you see if u can leave Rhino with a friend for a few days, they wont get any rest but you might lol.
-
Poor little bunny..Ive given you a few tips in the email Anne so just make sure you dont crack under the pressure of two sets of big brown eyes lol Keep her crated and keep her quiet its the best way to ensure a nice quick recovery. Big hugs and kisses to Electra and Rhino xx

Should Have Called The Ranger
amstaffchick replied to WreckitWhippet's topic in General Dog Discussion
Not sure whats more upsetting here, the fact that an elderly dog has been attacked in his own yard or the fact that a few APBT fanciers get on here and highjack the thread.... The thing i see more and more of these days is less accountability and more blame games! Makes me SICK!!! The dog needs to be PTS asap what sort of MORON uses an APBT for hunting and then sets it free in a suburban back yard with inadequate fencing? and who the hell wants to live in fear behind some loser with a fence slamming APBT??? ( or any other unstable dog for that matter) People need to made use common sense! This guy needs to be heavily fined so as to act as a little reminder .... Any decent person would be coughing up for the vet bills and heading over with a very sincere apology!
