  1. I know where you're coming from with that (my other half does that too) - problem is the message you're giving your dog there.
  2. Good comment...other half had already beaten me to it.
  3. Christ I'm sick to death of idiots walking their dogs whilst I'm out walking mine. Point of example today is that I see a fella approaching with a very large X breed of some kind. My little Boston is on my left on a tight rein and I'm walking on the left of the path. He is walking on the left approaching me but with a longish leash and a loose hold. His dog seemed to not be interested in mine until the last bloody second when we were about to pass and it lunged across me (didn't seem with any 'real' aggressive intent ). I was a milli second away from booting the dog but refrained. I turned around and gave him the mouthful of all mouthfuls. His comment was "she wouldnt have done anything". Yep, that may have been well and true BUT I didn't know that and more to the point was my semi-terrorised little Bossie now t knowing that either. Dead set - if he had of taken one more step in my direction or said another word - he would have copped it. I'm absolutely sick of people with this same attitude AND also sick of the ones that have their dog off leash out the front whilst they gardening and their precious little darling then racing out growling and snarling. Had enough.
  4. Picture of our little Lizzy...pissed off with me because I wont throw the ball
  5. They are bloody hilarious...Ive never met a breed like them
  6. Im not sure that they're a great pet to have around such young kids. Reason being they're so over active and stimulated and as they tear around the house doing their zoomies...they have little regard for what they're leaping on and over. As for getting hold of one, no, they're not that easy to find but you can be lucky. You just need to keep ringing around the known breeders and establishing a relationship and some trust. Expect to pay north of $2k for one. Whatever you do, don't get sucked into going down the path of buying a cheap one off a website. They're all shonky. And what sort of pet do they make..? A TERRIFIC pet...so so funny. :)
  7. And sorry if that came across as me discounting your opinion there...was just noting that in our household the Bossie is the one that takes most of our time to keep on top of..!
  8. The girl pictured below is my second Boston. Shes only 5 months old and is typical of what I've learnt and experienced with the breed. VERY VERY energetic, VERY VERY funny and full of personality. Extremely agile, VERY clever and a bloody handful. She does 'bully runs' - goes nuts when she does. You can't help but laugh your heart out at her. I dont think the cats think much of it though . Coincidentally, we also have a Chihuahua. The Boston is too much for the Chi. Shes just so full on when shes awake and just wants to play and play and play with the Chi. The Chi is playful enough and would love to get into it....but the Bossie is just a bit too much for her. Got to say that I know this is just because shes so young and full of beans and as she matures her and the Chi will get a lot closer and play...but she needs to grow up a bit and get the 'zing' out of her system. I've had a few different breeds over the years...I love my Bullies..but I got to say I've never seen a more funnier dog than a Boston. They're just chock full of personality. Bossies don't shed much at all. And yep..they are just SO funny..! You dont have to wait years but you will have to pay a fair bit. What you need to do if you want one is ring around, ring around some more, establish relationships with breeders and do some homework. This little girl above, from the time we started calling around to the time we brought her home...probably about 6 weeks. The antics you have described perfectly fit the description of our 5 months old Cavalier. She was the only pup in the litter and I swear she has the personality and energy of six pups!! :) She exhausts me and the other dogs. Christ..Im going to sound like Ive got every breed known to man (but we've only got three..lol)..YES, out third is a Cavalier..and absolutely no comparison, even though the Cavvy is slightly mad too...

  10. Unfortunately this 'breed' is tarnished by the infighting and the other so called original founder who is a deadset lunatic.
  11. we think so...gorgeous...very funny and lots of attitude
  12. Kids laughed hard over this one
  13. Her ears are up now...this was about 3 weeks ago
  14. Crikey you're a hard lot  So you're saying the store just 'leaves items on the floor' hey...? Just because some customer came through 1 minute before the dog who picked it up OFF the floor where the previous customer left it...that doesnt make it 'open season' on the item. Crikey.
  15. And you reckon the 'excess' on the insurance policy for the store would cover a $30 item...?
  16. My ex wife and I had the only Bull Terrier (Mini) and the only Boston Terrier in Australia doing Flyball...and they were pretty darn good..!
  17. That's a good idea. A lot of people don't have the heart or sense to help a lost dog. Some just chase them away. Thank goodness this person was good enough to keep her safe over night and contact the ranger today. Shocking weather we have had too. ETA We were absolutely drenched for hours yesterday...I was only in shorts and a shirt. Weather was terrible.
  18. Going to see if I can track down the person who was kind and smart enough to lock her in their yard. Hopefully the ranger will pass that on.
  19. WOOHOO..!! When I got off the phone with you, it was nothing but good news. She was excellent for the Ranger (who knew her name already when she got to that house....so that helped). Thanks again...crikey..all smiles now here
