Ditto! I've been popping in regularly for news, but had to steel myself beforehand every time. Such wonderful, wonderful news that he's home and feeling a bit more like himself! me too, I was almost too scared to to open the thread, but SOOOO glad Grover is feeling Better ;)

Mine are seperated. The two greyhound boys are left together, usually in the house where they sleep all day. My sons staffy cross is never allowed in with the greyhounds, even under supervision, because for some strange reason he has a dislike for one of my greyhounds and has attacked him on more than one occasion (yet he is not normally dog aggressive). My whippet girl is sometimes in with my sons staffy cross, or if we have a foster she is allowed to run with the foster once I am sure they will get on ok. In fact I now usually pick my fosters with her in mind, she likes to have a playmate so I usually choose a young dog around her size to foster so she has someone to play with While my two greyhounds get on really well with the whippet, I don't like to leave the two boys unsupervised with any smaller dog, just in case they ever got a bit too excited in play. I will, however, leave one of the greyhounds unsupervised with the whippet, just not both together. ETA I never run more than 2 dogs together when unsupervised. This stems from a very very sad and distressing incident a couple of years ago when I had several fosters, and one day when I was out one of my fosters was in distress and was attacked and killed by some of the other dogs :rolleyes: So now maybe I am paranoid, but I would never ever want to risk that happening again.

That must have been so frightening and upsetting for you I really hope she stays well now and the rest of the trip is uneventful!

I haven't had to 'house train' any greys, either my own or any of my fosters, they just seem to be very clean and instinctively go outside. Some do have a little trouble getting used to things like stairs and tiled floors (slippery) but it really doesn't take them long to acclimatise

My whippet baby has a white stripe on her face which is pink near her nose, and I am concerned about sunburn/cancer. Are there any sunscreen products specifically for dogs or do you just use human sunblock? Are there any types of sunscreen that are toxic to dogs? thanks!

aaaarghhh so confused. I spoke to my vet today about vaccinating/titre tests etc they can do the three-yearly one, and can also titre test. She said that because I am a foster carer my dogs are at high risk so should be vaccinated, which is fair enough. But when we talked about the titre testing she said that they could be tested and show that they were fine, but that their immunity could drop off at any time so if i didn't vaccinate i wouldn't know if they were immune or not at any given time after the titre test
