Okay day two of life with no Max and I woke up after a good sleep and felt a smidge better. Got in the shower to get ready for work and it hit me like a tonne of bricks. I could not handle the fact that my boy is gone and wont be coming back. The bloody ratbag. Anyhow trudged off to work feeling like shit. Lasted 35 minutes and came home. (well my great work mates sent me home) The hardest thing was the morning routine and instead of two dogs running outside for there treat before we left for work there was only one. Aunty Springdog - you are so naughty :D We were doing okay until I just read Riley's poem. That just bought us both undone! :p Again and I can't say this enough..... THANK-YOU all for your thoughts! We are so overwhelmed by them all.

;) Heidi that poem is a heart breaker but so relevant. Thank-you for posting it I'm (sorry WE are both) blown away by the feelings that people had for my boy and for thinking of us!!!!

Moops and Hory you have made me howl even more with your words *insert mili smile here*

Well I never thought that I would be posting in here after only 3 years of having you  and as I type the tears are free flowing and I cant even read the screen. Mr Springy and I went out last night for dinner and when we came home we weren't greeted in the usual manner No barking dogs....a little bit weird as more often than not they greet us with a huge bark. Went to let the dogs in and only Cassie was at the door. That's cool we thought Max will be stalking his possums as normal if only this was the case. I called out Maxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and nothing. So assumed he was asleep like Cassie. So out I go into the yard expecting my houdini to have jumped the fence or something.... Nope the poor bugger had jumped up obviously to try and catch a possum which as some of you know was a favorite past time but the scrummy bum got his collar caught on a hanging basket bracket.....and I don't think I need to tell you anymore    Max our hearts are breaking and we are guna miss you more than you know. You were the best puppy and gave us so much joy. Continue being that absolute ratbag over that bridge! Happy possum hunting my baby boy! We love you MaxMILLION- Cassie, Mr Springy and Me RIP MAX 3/11/04 - 24/11/07

8yo Girlie Peeing Inside.....

Ginger's Mum I read your whole post nodding my head. I can empathise with you. I thought after our long stint of no accidents that we were on the home straight too. The other night I had been watching her most of the night (when she starts sniffing around that is) and walked into the spare room to put the pillow covers back on the bed (so we are talking not even a minute) and came out to a puddle -

Mostly big ones (if we don't catch her in mid stream cos then they are small ) I agree and would have put it down to a new environment at first, but as we have had her for a few months now and she is still doing it I guess I have ruled that out. Especially after she had a 3 week (pee free zone in house ) I guess I am a tad concerned. Though in saying that we had a pee free night last night -

Thanks dogmad. Great advice. Should I still take her outside if she does pee inside as a time out kind of punishment? -

Her pee is very very yellow and concentrated. That is in comparison to Max's. But Max also drinks a lot more than Cassie. Thanks for the info guys -

Really? What are other symptoms of this in a dog? No nothing at all has changed since we got her home (except she had a follow up op to remove cancerous mammary glands) but that was over a month ago now. -

Sorry I assumed you would realise that that would be the case after toilet training my last dog. Yep that is happening. I have been taking her straight outside and leaving her for 10 minutes. Thanks anyhow daccies -
Okay I have been down the toilet training path with Max when he was a puppy and luckily enough he was pretty clever and responsive, so it took next to no time. ;) Now with Cassie (my 8 year old rescue which I've had for near on 3 months) it's a different story. She has obviously NOT been an inside dog ever before. She is crated at night and we take her out first thing in the morning to pee. Sometimes she does.....other times she doesn't and I don't have hours to spend waiting for her to go. Repeat the process after dinner obviously. She (Max too) is also outside all day when we are at work. We had a run of about 3 weeks where she was brilliant and went outside to pee ;) We would treat and praise her and all was good Well I don't know what happened but we are back to peeing (not pooing) inside if not every day every other? What can I do......? Help please?
