I have been trying the ignore approach but she just doesn't quit jumping on me and running around like a maniac! She doesn't have an off switch! I use a harness because I'm worried the collar would hurt her when I take for a walk sometimes she walks faster and I don't want to hurt her neck. Do u think I should try cue word and harness then treat? Like a game? I have a feeling she might still find a way to outsmart or refuse the harness. I also need to find a way to stop her running in the house the min i open the door and regardless of what i say or if I call her name she just ignores and does a happy lap around the kitchen.

She isn't old enough 3mth plus. I took her once to a dog school for all ages and I didn't find any benefit to it all it was very disappointing. ( wasn't good for me or for her) Plus too many barking dogs of all ages and sizes. I feel like I need more of a one to one session, my main issues are at home. I take her for walks and she isn't too bad for a puppy.

The grabbing doesn't work I had to hold her down or against me and she still fights and squeals she is a tiny 3 mth + Pomeranian). I will try the treat after the harness although it's the type that she needs to put her legs through not her head. Cool will defo look up those YouTube channels thanku. As for entering after work, I try the ignore game and it doesn't work she just keeps jumping on me around me and runs like crazy around her kennel and me. I say sit but because she sees me pour food in her bowl she goes nuts and won't stop til I finish pouring however she does sit and stay waits until I put food down and tell her to eat. So she is half obedient with that aspect

Hi thanks for your reply. wow squirt water bottle id rather do treats for good behaviour... TOILET is one big issue... she knows because she was partially potty trained before i got her, to do it on the grass... but every now and then when she is outside she will do it both kinds of potty on the concrete i leave her outside for as long as possible after she eats and drinks and when i do bring her inside if i hold her/carry her she is fine but when i put her down and she starts to roam around she will randomly pee,even tho i have fake grass and she knows to do it on that patch in the living room or the bathroom (where she sleeps - it is set up with grass on one side and bed on the other. then there is the issue of her jumping up and down when i come home (non stop) or when i open the door to let her in she just runs right in without waiting for me to let her in. or when she fights me when i try to place the harness around her (i almost feel like giving up cause it is sucha battle and then she tries to bite because she doesnt want the harness... however she does love the walks).

HI I have read some negative comments on bark busters here. Just wondering if anyone has used Ken Tran from bark busters for in home training? I spoke to him on the phone and he seemed really nice and caring unlike some other guy i called from a different company. Any thoughts or feedback or other suggestions? The only thing holding me back is the steep cost $550! i generally need him to help me with obedience training (basic puppy stuff). Key issue is the toilet training and running around jumping all over you type stuff... or not allowing me to put a harness to take her for walks.

She's only a baby and has no family anymore other than you. Usually they grow out of nervy or excitement pee. How long she outside alone? How many hours is she left alone and what does she have to keep her brain busy? Do you have time to sit with a cup of tea outside while she toddles around? Don't take a tiny toy puppy out and plonk her on the ground amongst giants (from her point of view everything is huge, even your feet), it's too soon to expect absolute confidence. You need to teach her it's safe and that you have control of things eg not being barked at by a strange dog. If you hope to use off leash parks one day .... it takes learning. Join a good puppy class, ask here for a recommendation in your area. Some classes are just a total shambles and do more harm than good. Toilet training; there will be accidents. She's actually doing pretty well. :) Sometimes it just sneaks up on puppies, they can get distracted and leave it a bit too late. Use treats, physically take her out, wait & reward her when she goes in the correct place. I highly recommend searching through the Dr Sophia Yin advice. She was an amazing woman http://drsophiayin.com/ There is also Dr Jo Righetti here in Aus who is very talented and publishes a few e-books for download too http://www.petproblemsolved.com.au/ Yea, i think she is doing well its just those little accidents and i read not to get angry about it, i just take her outside when she has an accident. she has alot of toys to keep her preoccupied. Yep every afternoon when i come back from work i prepare her dinner get her to eat then sit with her, play with her and take her for a walk. I also brush her once every second night. I dont think i would unleash her at a park id be scared she would run away. is she spayed? Nope she is too young to be spayed

Thanks Monchichi and yes she has completed all her vacs. No she doesn't sit outdoor all day long when i do leave her outside there is sufficient shading, a kennel, water, toys and everything else. Rebanne there is no need to get snippy, i didn't get a puppy to make her miserable! which is why i am on here asking for some advice. At night she sleeps indoors where i have put fake grass in one area for her to pee on (for consistancy - to keep her from getting confused (the puppy pee pad didnt work at all). She usually accidentally pees when walking through the living room however i have noticed that when she is outside she has better controls and strolls off to the grass or the hedges when she needs to poop (but sometimes she has the accident, not sure if she even has time to realise she had an accident). I understand that puppies may have accidents from time to time and they can't control their bladder sometimes due to excitement i just want to try and help her so she can calm down which will prevent more frequent accidents. How do you stop a 3 month old pomeranian from peeing by accident when she gets excited? I read that they should grow out of it eventually but is there any way to help train it to stop it from happening. usually when i come out to see her she gets all hyped up and it just happens by accident. i dont know how to prevent her from getting hyper either. She is generally toilet trained but once she pooped on the concrete (but generally she does it all on the grass. Just a side note i took her out on a walk with a friend who has a male papillion/fox terrior and a female papillion... But she freaked out and was shaking in my arms as soon as the male papillion starts barking (poor thing, i kept her in my arms because i could feel her fear). Do you think she will get over the barking dogs once she hit her first birthday? or is it just a size thing (cause she is tiny)?

Wow ok thanks everyone for the input... Im sure i am not the only one who works 5 days a week during business hours! Surely there are ppl out there that work and have pets... I have done some more research and discovered that you can keep a puppy in a play pen with their crate and pee pad as well as water etc while i am not home so they cant cause destruction outside of their designated area. i have also had contact with a breeder regarding a chi and i explained that i wont be around during the days because of work and she said that most chis will be fine while i am out and will show alot of affection once i come home in the afternoon. Apparently this last Chi (male is very calm and happy and can happily entertain himself), might check him out over the coming weekend and see for myself if he would make a good fit for my lifestyle
