What a great story that had me crying and laughing all at the same time Chi Chi sounds like such a little character (even if she is a little bit NQR) and she must be confused without you... I want to hear more stories about Chi Chi so I hope your road to recovery is as speedy as possible.

Rosie I still remember seeing your photo on the local pounds website and I couldn't believe that a sweet old lady like you would find yourself at such a place at your age. I thought for sure somebody would come and claim you, but you remained there for the 8 days and you were out of time. Something in your photo touched me and I couldn't bear the thought of you dying all alone, so I contacted my friend the ranger and instead of him taking you to the vet he brought you to my house. When Neil took you out of the van I was shocked at your poor condition. I knew from your photo that you were old, but I had no idea that you had been allowed to get in such bad condition. Most of the hair on your back was missing, and I could tell from your toughened skin that your allergy had been allowed to continue untreated for years. You constantly chewed and scratched yourself until you bled. You had lost your spirit and I thought you might live for a month or two, but I was determined that you would be shown love and be comfortable for whatever time you had left. Months passed quickly and you amazed us all with your improvement. Your hair was growing back and you gained weight. It was funny because you never once showed any signs of aggression towards me, dad (my husband Mick) or the girls. But you hated everyone else and we had to warn all visitors to not touch you or you would bite! Everyone who met you has told us that you knew that we saved you and you were protecting us to say thanks. Time passed and it is now 2 1/2 years since you arrived. Over the last few months we have noticed that you aren't your usual self. Sadly your body and mind are failing you more and more. My heart broke as I made your final appointment with the vet. But please know my sweet 'ol Rosie that I don't want to see you suffer anymore. You will always live in our hearts. Love you always you sweet old chook. Mum, Dad, Caitlyn & Teagan

Cheirah is gorgeous ;) In the first few pics I thought she was huge, but then seeing her next to Elliot, I got more of an idea of her size (she is tiny) I am so glad that your daughter got her wish, I think it was fate. I was Elliot's (now Boots) foster mum & your sons family is perfect for him Those pics show how happy the two pups are I must admit, I am really missing Elliot ;) so please keep those photo's coming

I have never had a problem with any of the dogs smelling........ That was until I got a pug........ she is a gorgeous girl, but OMG she is smelly I bought some doggy perfume for her because I couldnt bath her every second day. The brand I bought is "PRO-GROOMER" (made by Ruddocks) and the scent is 'fresh berry' and it is devine. 125ml bottle was $9.50 Much better than a pongey puggy

I might just stick with the injection. The lump really didnt bother Milli at all, just worried me. I would rather her have the 'hunchback' look for a week than get sick like your poor Remy bub

This is a really interesting thread. When Milli (chihuahua) had a C5 last time she came up with a HUGE lump at the injection site and I was going to get it done nasaly when she is due for a booster - now I am not so sure??

One of my rescue dogs is attempting to dig his way to china We have tried to put his poop in the holes, but it doesnt seem to bother him at all. He has heaps of bones (you can see one in the pic surrounded by holes) and other toys and there is 3 other dogs for him to play with, but he still digs. Have tried a water pistol but he loves it so that is no help either...... I have always thought that if a male dog was desexed at an early age he will never cock his leg. My friends boy was done early and he is now 7 and still squats

my darling suzie, today you would of been 15 but your poor body couldnt hold out any longer and we had to say goodbye six months ago you gave mum and I 14 years of love and devotion and we loved you so much. It was the hardest thing that we had to do, but we did it because we loved you so much and didnt want to watch you suffer. As I type this I have tears streaming down my face and a lump in my throat I bet you are racing around the bridge like a silly old chook, and you can play with Flirty & Bobby again (dont give them too much of a hard time like you did as a puppy though) I miss you & love you You were a dog in a million and I will never forget you Suzie.
