I just got a new job so going to get thistle a manners minder I just found the official BAT2 Facebook group if anyone wants to join. So far very supportive :) the author sometimes answers questions !

The book goes into the twenty something most common stories on the origins! Shame it's not in the library. It's one i would like to read but probably not own. Really want to read all the DNA analysis and the like.

Is she unlikely to drop on some surfaces? Say wet grass or wood chips? Could you practice recall on those to remind her on recalls with out a drop? We have only done a DOR a few times at my school, I've been using my casual recall for it because I don't want to confuse her with my "get here and get here fast" recall. Like yours, she likes to try and anticipate the next command. Good for drills or teaching new behaviours. Gets a bit frustrating if I'm not careful (always offering spins XD )

Can you start out really far away from the bell so it sounds faint? Or muffle it in some way so it's really quiet then let it get slightly louder?

Irked by the lack of info on what's happening with the two people. Heather and the other person? Bit of a grump session here but here we go since it's related to Heather Healey: I noticed Heather's name and Euroa kennel was still listed as an affiliate with Dogs Vic last month (while looking at ajuly document so hopefully it was accidentally overlooked). Made me wonder though. At what point would this ?organisation? provide an update on the status of her? Last time they only banned her for 5 years, and that information is only mentioned in news articles not from Dogs Vic themselves. They said "any member found in breach of the Association Codes of Practice will be subject to disciplinary action" - but how do you know if and when this happens? How do you identify breeder's with 'strikes' against them, so to speak? Or will they quietly remove from lists, if that, then reinstate again in 5 years? I'm troubled because I'm not sure how I'm expected to trust DogsVic vouching for various kennels with stuff like this being so hidden. The website is frustrating to use, there's no updates, I can't find where to check current membership, all I can do is go with my gut when meeting people then google like crazy. I would not want to get a dog from Heather, even if registered and supposedly reformed or whatever crap had her unbanned last time. But it'd be damn hard to find any of this out if her name was suggested to me! (prior to the raid and all the news articles that is) Not confident in DogsVic at all and frustrated by the lack of transparency.

After yesterday's vomit-apocalypse with thistle, I completely understand! I was hesitant this morning but she'd made it through the night and seemed alright. Hopefully the same for yours, chicken+rice+a good nights rest! bicarb soda really does help with the smell...

There was a youtube 'case study' on using the manners minder to help counter condition over excited dogs. Looking for it...looking for it. Would also be good for the worried and scared ones. Could just use their daily kibble so no-one gets too porky. But also, realise most pounds and rescues probably couldn't afford one let alone that many manners minders...
