Older Bitch Spay Incontinence
Two Best Dogs! replied to trifecta's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
That's lovely to hear, that her wellbeing is increased! I guess I'm looking at alternatives as not a fan of either incurin's potential side effects (anemia?!) or propalin (anxiety and aggression?) on the long term. She's still so young... Maybe I did make the tea wrong. I'll let the incurin kick in then maybe try the tea again. I did pack teaspoon, let it soak for 5 minutes then 3 teaspoons in morning and night of the liquid... -

What is the corn silk cap ratio to dog size? how often is it mixed in the dinner? We are currently trialing incurin as the leaking has started again. So if it works, I guess confirmed weak muscles. just a few drips here and there. I did try making the tea but think I did it wrong and had little effect. Perhaps capsule dosage will be more accurate? We've had a multitude of physical tests, urine testing and urine cultures and one look up her bits with a tiny camera she is "unremarkable" I mentioned it to the vet and they're happy for us to go ahead with corn silk if it works. -

I think we jinxed ourselves Thistle growled at the head trainer today. She hasn't done that at anyone in awhile, guess I pushed her too much too hard too fast. We had temporarily joined advanced class and it was very challenging. Need to do more BAT with men. Just not many men in our lives! and only one male trainer. -

I think it's their job to scare us!! Am glad he is feeling well enough to roll in poop at training. We are good. We are very tired but good. Her incontinance has come back with the warmer weather so we will go to vet on Monday to discuss meds. I'll need to catch her peeing to see if her ph has gone up too. Some setbacks but overall pretty happy with how she is going ???? I am less stressed over other dogs too, provided they're not moving very fast. Just trucking along. How's justice? I've been seeing some cute photos on Instagram but I want to hear more about his day and his humans day! -
Thank you Gruf :mad We will be able to see what happens to Michele Giblett when her case goes to court, whenever that is. Long slow proceedings. Blessing in disguise she has such a shit lawyer already trying to put a spin on things, changing what was said and done :mad if she doesn't want to be seen as a bad person, she shouldn't have been so careless with her dogs! :mad

The problem is with some dog owners and i would presume this owner is they don't know what their dogs are capable of until a disaster happens .They purchase a dog with little if any researching about the breed or buy on looks or popularity alone and have a generic view of how dogs behave and think because their dog is well behaved at home it will behave well off lead in a dog park. I feel this woman was in shock herself at the dogs attack and people sometimes do the wrong thing when in shock . She still needs to be charged for her negligence. I still feel strongly that like Greyhounds many more breeds if not all large dogs should be on leash at all times in public. Councils could have secure runs like they do now in some areas for Greyhounds to run off lead so owners can exercise their dog throw a ball etc without the worry that their dog could get into trouble or cause trouble. Regardless of breed and temperament dispositions, all of this could have been prevented if the lady had obeyed the rules. She wasn't in an off lead dog park, she was in an on lead only multiuse park. It was also, apparently, not the first time her dogs have attacked a person. So not only is she intentionally disobeying the rules, she was doing it full well knowing her dogs have attacked people previously. Then to add insult to the serious injuries she grabbed her dogs and went into hiding. She didn't ask after the child, she didn't come forward when there was a widespread campaign for her to do so. She was only identified when someone else had suspicions she was the person. She's staying silent, but her lawyer is downright shocking. She is not a responsible owner, she is not even close to responsible. She's careless, irresponsible and selfish. She is the reason we have so many rules and restrictions put into place! Sorry for a bit of a rant (not directed specifically at you Purdie) but I just read all her lawyers crap. A little child was severely injured, from supposed repeat human aggressive dogs who belonged to a woman flouting the laws then goes into hiding to avoid the consequences. Look at this crap: She "wasn't fleeing the scene" and is a responsible owner?! So responsible a viral media campaign was needed to find her. So responsible she was breaking rules. So responsible she tells people in advance to move away from her dogs. So responsible and "horrifed" she yells out instructions at the distance telling the child to stand still instead of HELPING. So responsible a child is severely injured and a family traumatised! That young boy has more responsibility and care in his little finger than that woman has in her entire body. :mad :mad :mad :mad I hope they reveal her name, so I can track the court proceedings. She is a blot on the name of responsible dog owners. I'm struggling to think of something she DID do that was responsible!

my bestfriends and petbarn both carry them! I've also seen them at my pet warehouse and the "pet and aquarium warehouse". Those discount places. They're usually down near the seatbelts, muzzles etc. i can grab you one and leave it with chris if you'd like? or carry it around at class. actually chris might have some, check in with him or put a request? For long lines I go with k9pro. I really like the syn tek ones and they're also great for obedience. Horse lines I find too heavy especially when wet and I only use my light Bunnings chain if I expect to have her out of sight for a bit. you could start with small day trips where you set up camp but don't explore far. somewhere scenic so lots of sniffing but not lots of walking! and don't forget to keep up your training :) even when camping we were doing out homework.  4 mmonths now, she must be getting so big! thistle is an oddly considerate bedpartner when camping. at home she's a shocker so sleeps in her own bed. pointy elbows, cold nose, always moving... When I bought my tent I made sure it was big enough for me, my gear and at least 2 big dogs ???? You never know! Shame your place is flooded out where were you going? I can suggest some local places if you want. They'll all be a little wet and squishy right now but hopefully not all flooded.

 That's a horrible shock! I would report them to the council, hopefully they'll kick the owner's ass into gear. Walks are exhausting watching out for irresponsible owners. I very rarely walk locally, too many offlead angry dogs. So I walk at weird hours to avoid them all or drive off to other locations where a better line of sight... It is hard and stressful :'( have a good breather

Sorry Mowgli, canetoad has described exactly what I meant by tie out! Basically a stake you screw into the ground. Much more secure than a random tree branch or your backpack  she sleeps in the tent with me though, because i get cold.

I'm glad he's feeling better ☺️Hope you're feeling better too! -
I always take a tie out stake because at some point you're going to set up and be stationary or need dog out of the way. If mat trained bring the mat. Make sure cooking and fire is out of dogs way and out of way of the tie out. First aid kits. Local vets. Maybe even let the ranger know you're in the area and when you're leaving (tell them when you leave so they don't check in on you) If dog is offlead be prepared for wildlife chases. We thankfully only found an echidna, platypus and wasps. No wallabies. Lots of towels. Dog will find a way to be wet and muddy. Doubles as blankets if unexpectedly cold, seats etc I've got a check list of stuff at home. I keep our gear pretty light as leading up to going hiking so only what we can carry is the goal. I have a "dog on site" sign in case of other campers but I go pretty remote. Dog backpack so dog carries own food Don't forget your camera! Muzzle: emergencies, 1080, wildlife, dog shy rangers Do some rest runs in backyard with dog and tent if you worry they won't like it. My small set up:

Yes Malcolm. Rest and sleep. Am thinking of you both and trying to check in for updates. Maybe a really low level of Karen's protocol to help him remember to be calm later on when he is ready? -
For the best for those dogs I reckon, having such an irresponsible owner it's probably happen again. Irresponsible doesn't even cover it. Grossly negligent? Intentionally irresponsible? Let her repeat offender dogs off lead in an on lead area then ran away and hid them? That's beyond irresponsible. ???????????????? Have any articles mentioned the age of the child? Mentally I'm picturing under 5 for her brother to pick her up. He is an amazingly brave young boy.

Oh no poor Malcolm. Ok so glad he's able to come home! Quiet night got both of you. So so glad he's ok if a bit stiff. Hug hugs hugs -
Maybe not every situation but I'd give it a chance Absolutely poleaxed he let his dogs near the drains and creek though. They have warning signs everywhere and are the kind where it's obvious deep water = fast current. A lesson hard learnt.

Oh no Malcolm!! We are crossing all our fingers and tails for you! -
Absolutely shocking owner ????????????

If the lady had just obeyed the damn laws and kept her dogs on lead in that park that poor kid would not be how she is (and the dogs not on death's row). What a brave brother she has. I hope she's up and running like normal again soon, but oh what an impact

I'll most certainly! Won't want her big boofhead squashing the littles. Have you seen pet stores recently? Knitted Halloween outfits coming in. I've seen dinosaurs and crocodiles. Secret would look perfect in them! ;) -

There wasn't as many as some days but it was quite chilly and rain had been forecast in the morning. We only got about 5 minutes of light rain in the afternoon, not even enough to stop for it. Probably about 20 cars and 30 or so dogs at a guess. We went till late though, it was a keen crowd. Thanks Kirislin! One day, I really want to. The photos always look so happy and carefree! -

They are so dark like little black ink blots <3 <3 <3 with perfect fashion!! Were there many people? I ended up in city all day then tradie supervising but thinking we are still not ready yet. Getting close to ready though, so close! -
Is a vet check up in order? It might be a bit of coincidental timing as he's a bit on the older end and usually bullet proof, something else going on in the background? Good luck, tricky with babies involved!

9 Week Old Staffy Puppy Not Eating And Underweight
Two Best Dogs! replied to Darby's topic in Puppy Chat
I wouldn't trust the breeder or the breeder's vet. Reads like they're backpeddling because they've been caught out being dodgy. Both of them. I would get your money back and report them to whatever rego body like somebody suggested earlier. Then stay far away from that breeder and their recommendations. :mad You may need to report the vet too, depending on paperwork statements :(
