  1. I think your new camera is fitting in very well!!
  2. I thought Steve and Sheridan are talking about the bill amendment on puppy farms and the new restrictions in Victoria? I must have misunderstood, my mobile display is a bit funny on the ordering. DV is a horrible website ???? One time I wanted to know about a nearby show and they didn't put the schedule up until the day of! Ended up not going. I never know what's going on with DV or even what they're meant to be doing half the time. Especially frustrating when want to read about their media releases. Why only on Facebook? Facebook articles get lost or break all the time so hard to find older info. *annoyed sigh* a rant for another time and place sorry ???? Yes they are but the news article is referring to a PREVIOUS amendment :) But only the start of it is about the pet shop ban, the rest of it is about the other upcoming changes including the <10 breeding female restrictions that then leads into the DV statement. But also could be how the age is reordering things and the DV statement is about the pet shop plan but poorly located in the article? *mobilr correct argh Yes I do understand - but the new thing is that DV members have no exemptions. That if you own ONE fertile bitch and breed and sell puppies then you must apply for a Domestic Animal Business permit. Dogs Vic have been left out of the loop on these last changes so the statement that they approved those changes based on an article that is over 18 month old isn't accurate. I follow now ????

  5. you only have to read the subject below this one. Vic dog breeders are in serious trouble if this gets through. Jaala Pulford once said to me on social media she didn't want to see the end of dog breeding. If she was telling the truth then she should have discussed the strategies with the peopel this law will affect .She stated publicly the current amendments would only affect 90 people in Victoria when in fact they will affect 10s of thousands. Do you mean people like dogs Victoria? Because I thought they were consulted. This Bill isn't exactly out of the blue?? From the age, February - not a well written article but sounds like dogsvic was in favour? http://www.theage.com.au/victoria/pet-shops-dog-breeders-irate-at-cost-of-plan-to-stop-puppy-farms-20150227-13qsvv.html Something I am forever annoyed with dogs Victoria...it's impossible to find anything on their website! Upcoming concerns, decisions, support, responses to upcoming or new bills...I couldn't even find their in person staff member at the show to get a show bag. ????
  6. I havent noticed a poop difference but I have noticed a coat change! So smooth and silky! I just want to pat her forever ????????
  7. They weren't there last week, I think they're new! Also have a new line of dog treat bags and belts. I was very tempted, but I already have a dog treat belt and bag... Even if this one is much cheaper and has a lot more treat space...
  8. Here's the photo Sorry I'm on mobile so best I can do: https://instagram.com/p/BLdW85pBWM1/ Lots of surprisingly solid dog toys and bandanas too. This was the CBD one
  9. FYI mowgli I was just in reject shop and took a photo if you like - you can get the tie out stake and cord for $10. I think they'd be more than suitable even when your pup is grown
  10. The short of it... calling her off wildlife is a slow work in progress. But I will never *trust* her around a penned small animal. But I got my big high prey drive sight driven predator as an adult. Perhaps if I had gotten her younger I could better mitigate it. Mowgli seems really calm so I think you could shape disinterest and good behaviour :) As it is, if shit happens and I am there I can only hope my training pulls through.
  11. It's not impossible to have both :) just careful planning and precautions. For example. I never let Thistle have sight of them (in addition to access). I can't do much about the sound or smell. She's a dog after all. But she's primarily sight orientated. So out of sight is out of mind... and as back up always 2 doors, gates or fences inbetween. Bunnies outside? Thistle inside. Bunnies inside? Thistle outside or house divided up with auto closing doors ($10 from Bunnings for that attachment.) I've never let her see them as I suspect she would become relentless with their presence solidified beyond the occasional smell or weird noise.
  12. Keep them separate. Get very secure outdoor and indoor pens. I would consider getting a pen with a wire flooring so she cannot dig a hole for a GPig to go exploring through. Just regular old chicken wire won't hurt their feet overly and let the grass pop through. The wooden cages are useless for outside, they get eaten and go rotten pretty quick. You'll need to find a lightweight metal one. Usually someone is selling on on gumtree - but keep in mind they get quite hot in summer. So balancing protection vs health. Find some way to obscure her view of the piggies in the run (and them of her, I can guarantee they're not having fun with her acting like this around them). I'd not leave her out there with them alone.
  13. https://www.google.com.au/amp/s/amp.foxsports.com.au/what-the-fox/greyhound-racing-ban-backflip-from-nsw-government-mike-baird/news-story/ac42d257798a8009e6854cd875224cd5?client=safari My interest and concern is the welfare of the dogs, live baiting and especially the wastage of the "excess" dogs. Can't say I have much faith on the industry improving or these "new strict regulations" actually being enforced. But wait and see. https://www.google.com.au/amp/www.9news.com.au/amp/national/2016/10/10/21/13/accused-live-baiter-to-face-nsw-court?client=safari Waiting on this too. Careful with the link, it has photos and an auto play video
  14. That's the only bit I care about, does anyone have knowkedge of where we can read about plan b, if available? Documents etc? (Or if still being developed...?)
  15. I have the tone turned off. Her head whips around at the sound of dispensing though. Sometimes I use it as an imprecise marker for distance work. It also makes a great distraction when heeling and she can hear it dispensing but. Can't. Break. Eye. Contact!! Her struggle is real hahaha
  16. Are these the same methods renamed? Just wondering. We do nothing in life is free, with the occasional allowance because im weak ????
  17. Oh that's good to hear on the free shipping and afterpay! And the coats of everyone's dog. I had noticed her skins been a bit flaky lately, but I don't know if it's from the stay loyal/black hawk combo or something else. Maybe the MfM will shake that up and make her just a little bit softer! House.com.au's distribution centre is in Melbourne as well, it took about a week for the order to get to me, which isn't terrible when it had to go through Sunshine West distribution centre. How handy! I will probably stick with local warehouse and ordering in though, as house.com.au is $121.99 for 20kg while my warehouse is $104...I'll just need to enlighten them that there's more than 3 flavours and there are tripe treat options!
  18. OOOOH he has a lot of coat to get soft. It must be working fast!
  19. Yeah she burns a lot of energy so I usually go for high protein to help keep her muscles and weight up, she's very prone to dropping weight then losing muscle i'll call the store up, maybe we can change my order to the high protein one instead of turkey. I see what you mean over flakes, yeah there will be very little crunching and a lot of inhaling whole. I don't mind, all her kibble is dispensed through interactive toys and remote minders.

  21. Agree 100%. Very unfair nonetheless. Thirded. Please go forward with a clear heart! I know the hunting is so frustrating, but it will be worth it when you get your future dog. There are lots of perfect dogs out there.
  22. Oh yes please! I hadn't realised they had more flavours than the 1 i bought and the 2 I am ordering via the warehouse, they seemed to think there weren't any other flavours/types.
  23. Didn't see a thread for this one? Getting to the end of our Black Hawk and Stay Loyal bags, figure it's time to branch into another kibble. (I like variety in a pet's diet when possible) I'd heard of MfM but I thought it was American, so had paid it no attention. But the store people mentioned offhand it was Australian! And I was looking for a "fishy" kibble this time around. I've also ordered the kangaroo one and the turkey one in so I can rotate. The kibble size is much smaller than black hawk's kibble, which is good. it will fit in the manners minder better. Protein is a bit lower than I'd like, but will just compensate with our evening wet food mixes. I'm intrigued by their treat bags too, because tripe and roo disks! not sure where to get those though, our place doesn't have them.
  24. FYI I signed up to go to....i think it was a nosework theory seminar to scope out the scentdogs australia ?club?school? and see if I click with the people. I like that they're contributing to disease scenting studies at the university. Anyway, they seem quite welcoming to timid dogs. So if I like the theory, I'll keep an eye on their practical sessions. Think I've mentioned before I'd like to get thistle into sniffing type things, but wanted to wait for head trainer....but am getting impatient and think when we do get to his class, be too challenged to focus on it then in class with everything else on. so have it at a different time. and if i enjoy scent works people, it'd be fun to compare to what my spaniel owning friends do it (the subtle handling differences etc) Re: the loudness of flyball, i guess i was hoping the introductory classes would have them all spaced further apart to build up success but sounds like they're just flung right into it? Bummer on that. Don't let me stop all the interesting conversations going on in this thread though! It has been great to read and lots of potential ideas. I'm stalking NADAC and Treibball things on facebook.
