  1. Information/advice from breeders who have imported would be appreciated. In view of the length of time it takes from start to arrival of your dog and the fact that so many things could go wrong during that time I am considering what steps I should take to protect myself financially. The person who I am considering to purchase from has advised no money will be refunded if, for example, the dog has an accident or fails any of the required tests. I am interested to know what agreements other importers have had in place to cover themselves financially in the case of something going wrong, and, if there is any insurance I should have in place - which companies will provide it? Any help greatly appreciated. TIA
  2. Thank you for the feedback so far, it all helps.Ido know about all of the Aust quarantine and import requirements and I am investigating transport agents. I received the information that the dog could only be sent on Korean Air from an agent in Germany - I just want to establish if that is an across the board thing that other airlines will not transport from there to Aust, or if it is just a case of that particular agent has a little deal going with this airline.Obviously, if I deal through an Aust agent they are then going to deal with an agent in Germany - that is ok - I just want my dog to arrive in the most expedient, safest way possible. If anyone can recommend any agents they have dealt with here, I'd also appreciate that info.Thank you all for your help.
  3. I am thinking about importing from Germany and I've been told the dog can only be shipped by Korean Air - Is this true? If you have shipped by this airline your opinion of their service would be appreciated.
  4. i would appreciate some advice from people with recent experience in importing a dog or frozen semen from Germany or France. I have been communicating with breeders who are German but live on the French side of the French/ German border. The breeders communicate quite well in English but when I sent a copy of the import requirements from the AQUIS website, the document in English got a bit too hard for them. AQUIS tell me they do not publish the requirements in other languages and the whole concept of Approved and Official Vets has my people totally confused and our negotiations at a standstill.I would appreciate advice from anyone who has been through this process and who can advise where/how I can obtain a list of approved Vets and contact details for the Official Vet in Germany and France.I am also interested in information about transport agents in those countries that people here have had experience with. Any help appreciated.
