  1. "Stories can be told in many different ways depending on the viewpoint, and the true story is usually different from most people’s interpretations" xx LP xx
  2. Powerlegs - I was playing with their site and removed my own dog. xx LP xx
  3. My opinion after speaking with SeekPet people this evening is to observe this website only. Just to speak to anyone at SeekPets was challenging and the answer to my initial email was "Unfortunately as the company is young we do not consist of a company landline" I sent a second email and a few minutes later a lady rang me with a 'No caller Id' All I can say is I am not impressed - this lady contradicted herself so many times and has little knowledge of the companion animal law. However her biggest blooper was you cannot make desexing mandatory (on the website) because people may want to breed. This statement was made after telling me all about stopping dodgy breeders. She feels people need to make informed choices et al. Truly my brain was going in circles trying to find any logic in this conversation. xx LP xx
  4. Daisy was in the comp you came to T and she did well - unlike the recent wriggle bum lol. I have taken Daisy home with me many times and she does her toileting outside with my pack. She plays with my pack well and was crated at night, like my own dogs. Prior to surrender she was an indoor and much loved family dog, given up due to family issues. Daisy was born in January 2006 and was purchased from a PP type pet shop. There is some discrepancy re her birthdate on CAR and the original PP paperwork - is the birthdate 2006 or later? I am still working on this! All her vet work was done prior to surrender and has been verified. She is NSW lifetime registered too. Dogmad you are welcome to ring me - would be lovely to catch up with you too. xx LP xx
  5. Here is Daisy poodle x - she is around 5 years. Her file is at the kennels so I can check tomorrow exact age etc. In the pics below Daisy is covered in grass - she had been groomed and then she rolled in dry grass :-) xx LP xx
  6. Just look at Candy now! Aunty Margaret came to visit us yesterday - look at Candy and her playmates frollicking around. xx LP xx
  7. The tibbie at Wollondilly has already been sold directly from the pound. xx LP xx
  8. You mean a little one like this Pers This pup has been adopted and would now be around 5 years old. xx LP xx
  9. If the treats were JerHigh Chicken Tenders made by VitaPet (Masterpet) then according to Masterpet they are made in Thailand. A couple of years ago there were a high number of dogs in both Australia and the US with fanconi type syndrome - caused by treats made in China. Buy Australian made treats and avoid such problems. This link gives some more info My link All the best for your dog lilypily - fingers crossed tis all good. xx LP xx edited for clarity and grammar
  10. Meadowmist is excellent - kind and caring staff and happy dogs. The Grooming School near Morriset also have boarding kennels run by Christine and Les Speerin. Christine is a multi award winning groomer and an accredited international grooming judge. These guys had 19 of my rescue dogs for 8 days prior to the groomers shoutout earlier this year. The dogs became rather attached to Les and Christine in that time - they were spoiled furkids! Christine is a brilliant poodle groomer - you can give her a call on (02) 4977 1432 Hugs xx LP xx
  11. Congrats again Luckypup - the look on your face when your name was announced as the winner of the Buddy award was priceless! And you were caught on camera too Hugs xx LP xx
  12. I have written a comment on the true local page for this salon and my comment vanished. My comment was nicely written, polite and I don't see why it was pulled xx LP xx
  13. Hey Cazstaff - it was so good to hang out with you and your daughter this afternoon at Groom Quest. Please post which groomer won the Buddy award. Hugs xx LP xx
  14. To me having calcium on hand is essential when whelping at home or in a shelter. We have both calcium injectable and syrup on hand (also oxytocin) and have used for many whelpings - to me essential items on a whelping trolley. My thoughts are if you have always used calcium post partum and have had no problems with hypocalcaemia, then keep doing what works for you. I have never had a problem post whelp using Sandoz syrup combined with a good diet. xx LP xx NSW Animal Rescue
  15. Not sure if this helps Steve? This may be them http://www.freshstartrescue.com ABN: 96 244 314 611 and apparently located in Brisbane postcode 4075 xx LP xx

  17. On the NSW Animal Rescue facebook page there is the following comment "Pretty sure I saw this dog with another homeless man at wynyard station on Monday!" Maybe the PetSearch people could contact the poster of the comment for further information. xx LP xx
  18. The best I have personally encountered were described by the pound as 2 black female poodles. When I went to collect them they had morphed into pure bred skye girls. Even the microchip registry had them listed as Skye terriers, complete with the breeders prefix as part of their names. Aw well - at least the pound staff could tell me they were both female Happy endings - the breeder was wonderful and these girls were rehomed to Skye homes. xx LP xx
  19. There are seven bright new shining stars in the canine galaxy tonight. RIP little ones. A very sad tdierikx will update this thread later. xx LP xx
  20. Dogmad your reputation and compassion for the animals speaks heaps for you - you are one of the best. As a person and a rescuer I have a great deal of respect for you. Hugs xx lillypilly xx edited cos I am tired and making typing boo boos.
  21. Last year when I spoke to Rachelle, no desexing was done for puppies. Apparently the vet being used at that time would not do elective surgery on young pups. A new clinic was sought which will desex the pups from 10 weeks of age. Dogmad have a look at post #28 of this topic. Maybe there is a 'long term' rescue org nearer to Rachelle who could guide her. Perhaps Steve could PM about the wonderful MDBA courses on offer or Merryn could send the link to her fantastic book - both are great learning resources. I have learned so much running a shelter for rescue animals and I have enjoyed every minute of it. Knowledge can be shared and I am happy to assist the newbies and the long termers in rescue. Otherwise I do see my wonderful journey along a sometimes bumpy road somewhat wasted. Hugs xx lillypilly xx
  22. With no disrespect intended to you at all jusdeb, may I suggest you ring Rachelle. Rachelle is young and wanting to do her best for the animals, and truly we all have made mistakes before. Personally I would rather guide a newbie and try to turn them around to being an ethical organisation. I feel tis that or we have more cowboys! I would never allow any of the pups in our care to be nursed on dirt, let alone photograph and publish such a photo. Apparently the owner surrendering the pups to Mini Paws took the pic. I have chatted with Rachelle tonight and explained my thoughts with the pic of the pups. New pics of the pups have apparently been posted. Perhaps if more of us 'long term' rescuers could help the next generation of rescue orgs, we can leave a legacy. Rescues, both big and small are run by people but I figured we are really in it for the benefit of the animals. Hugs xx Lillypilly xx PS jusdeb I will email you my private phone number and you are welcome to ring me.
