  1. I cant wait...so excited and feeling very positive!
  2. Apparently now we can only email him once a week
  3. Hi Im trying to find the silver mesh gazebo side walls but cant seem to find any, also at a reasonable price if possible. Any suggestions? I found a crate cover http://www.k9pro.com.au/silver-mesh-tarp.html but not any gazebo walls. Cheers Peta
  4. My aunt had Maremma dogs who guarded the sheep and goat herds on our property. As pups they were put with the herds and raised with the herds. We were told never to go near them as they were so fiercely protective of their 'pack' so although this pups behaviour is extreme it does not surprise me at all.
  5. Well were all booked in, one session with my cocker and one session with the puppy and I cant wait! I had to write down what I wanted to focus on with each dog, so far I have only filled out the sheet for Maple (cocker spaniel) but her 4 things were - aim to stop her fear of other dogs and stop barking and being aggressive towards other dogs due to this fear - be more independent from me - I want to be able to go out or leave her and not have her whine, cry and bark - loose lead walking - travel in the dog trailer happily - she has never been in one Im waiting to fill in the form for the puppy till she's come home for a bit and I see her personality and get to know as the form asked questions about her temperament, personality etc but the things I want to achieve through the consult and subsequent work are: - Forward, confident, outgoing, look at me presence in the show ring whilst maintaing 100% focus on me. - Loose lead walking - recall - desensitisation - independence
  6. So you all did the one lesson then just distance follow up by computer?
  7. Woah some nutters out there for sure although I might be one as my email doesn't end in a .au and I have asked before to go to horse trainers barns and work for free just lol!!! Saying that they could just look up my results and see I was also a horse rider so that is a helper on the maybe not crazy front. You must get tired of the nuts you get sometimes?
  8. Yes I have read over the website and just spoken to a very very helpful lady from K9 but just looking for some reviews now from people outside the company
  9. Just wondering if anyone has ever used them? Im looking into using them to help my Cocker get over her fear issues and as a Puppy School equivalent for my new girl but they work as a 2hr initial assessment then 6week email follow up and arnt cheap which worries me how well it will work rather than 6weeks of individual lessons. How much are trainers usually by the hour for individual lessons? I have no idea. Has anyone used there way of teaching before?
  10. So I think I have hit the jackpot!! The lady I am buying my puppy from has been the most incredibly helpful person out there when it has come to helping me prepare for my start into the showing world (her parents as well). Not only is she giving me a stunning puppy she has helped me put together a full show kit, helped me find my first shows and suggested where to go etc. Running me through confirmation again and again till it started to sink in, teaching me clipping and grooming for the ring and has said she will continue to help me with training and on going help even out at shows. I am so thankful to her for everything... Im wanting to get her something to say thankyou and its her birthday when I pick the puppy up this week, any suitable ideas? Maybe dog related?
  11. So this weekend was a bit of an exciting weekend. On Friday at 3pm we left Sydney bound for Brisbane to go and view a possible contender for a dog trailer to buy. First off was a stop over just outside at Coffs Harbour for the night before continuing on to our destination just outside of Brisbane for lunchtime today. We arrived and I soon fell in love with the yet to be named but oh so cute little trailer. Its just a little thing, 2 berth but nice big berths and a decent size wardrobe. Its a 2.5yr old Toldeo, has done less than 1000kms and looks practically brand new. We did have one hiccup however, the car we brought up to tow it home couldn't recognise the light connectors/plug as the LED lights were too low in something or other so we ended up with a 3hr delay and 2hrs of an auto electricians time just so we could drive the thing home. Lucky for us we bought it from the nicest couple who feed us lots of tea and small talk while we waited. Its rather crudely hooked up now but all works for the trip and we will just get a more permanent fix when we get home. So now another stop over in Coffs Harbour then home to Sydney tomorrow :D
  12. Have emailed Steve and tried calling the last 2 days but no reply. Im away this weekend so will see if I get an email or call.
  13. Arh so difficult to know what to do... We really need this pen/cage so im really worried what we will do if we ask for permission and they so no but if we dont tell them then have trouble later on it could be just as bad
  14. Hi All I have a 1.5yr old Cocker that has started barking and acting aggressive towards dogs when she is out although her behaviour is driven more from fear and anxiety than maliciousness after she was attacked by another dog. Im wanting some help from a trainer to help get her over this as I want to take her to dog shows with me when I take my new puppy out but obviously cant when she is acting this way. Can anyone recommend someone who can help? Im around Parramatta NSW but happy to travel up to 1hr for someone good. Cheers Willowlane
  15. I should say it needs to be in Sydney preferably Western Sydney but willing to drive.
  16. Hi All Im looking to buy chicken necks bulk buy or in a larger size pack than the little ones you can get at Coles of Woolworths? Any idea's?
  17. The problem is the landlord is very very difficult at times thinking it may be easier it just take it down at inspection times then put it back up after. Is that wrong lol?
  18. Hi All I hope this is ok to post her but I need some recommendations We live on a rental property and are wanting to put a stand alone dog pen under the concreted verandah/awning. No drills holes will be made, it wont be fastened down etc there will be nothing to show it was ever there. There will be a floor put down and the concrete will be hosed off so there is no staining. The dogs (2 spaniels) will also only be going in there 2-3hrs a day every 2nd/3rd day so its not like they will be in there all the time and never at night. Do you think I need to get landlord approval?
  19. So far the older dog has been a dream to crate train. A little whimpering occasionally through the night but other wise she's been an absolute gem. I got her a big soft crate and took it slowly with her and no problems at all :) Im wary of having her on the bed as she can be a bit protective of me when she is on there and I dont want her going at the new puppy but she is also happiest on her. Unfortunately Doggie doors are out of the question as we are on a rental property so we cant make those kind of changes
  20. So were about to get a new puppy who needs to be crate trained as she is going to be shown although I want to crate train her regardless of this anyway. Due to this I would also like to crate train my 1.5yr old Cocker x Springer Spaniel (Shoot me down now I know this is a purebred only forum and shes not a purebred but she is the most divine dog and I wouldn't swap her for the world. I bought her thinking she was straight Springer but she didnt grow into what was expected....) so long story short I want to teach her to crate train so she can come to the shows with us and will handle the trailer, staying away at weekend country shows and I believe the puppy will crate train easier if the 1.5yr old is also in a crate instead of on the bed sleeping with us. One of my worries is that she has access to water in the bedroom and gets up for a drink every night but obviously cant do this if she is in the crate? I know dogs can go for this long without water but just with her being use to having access to water at night im not sure what is best to do for her. Next Questions: When should I be putting puppy to bed (what time)? and taking her out in the morning for her first toilet trip? She has a play pen inside in the living room with a crate in with a bed and warm kersey wool rug it in it then a separate crate in our bedroom for at night.
  21. What is the product like? Any good?
  22. I need to find a flooring for our dog cage... I have seen one advertised on this site but I cant remember the name of it. Any suggestions would be very appreciated. We rent our current place and its part of the contract - having a floor over the concrete.
  23. Thankyou :) I was just thinking it will be nice to have the two of them out with me at the shows plus much much easier especially when my husband comes with us when we go away of a weekend.
  24. WreckitWhippet which size fit perfectly? Are they nice and thick/cushiony? Do they keep their size or flatten really easily
  25. Can I bring my non-showing dog to shows so long as she causes no problems (barking, disturbing competitors etc) and is crated within my gazebo or walked on a lead?
