  1. Koolie Rescue definitely have some - Cosmolo your mail box is full - I have been trying to send you a PM with contact details.
  2. Koolie Rescue at Echuca may have one - will get back to you later today.
  3. Jed that sums her up beautifully. Fortunately she is off to Victoria today for desexing and then to her new forever home next week. Perry will be so happy.
  4. Oh there is a working koolie council too which does not have many at all.
  5. I love seeing the different styles of Koolies. I think this is why the WKC was created, so that the working dogs could be just that and look like anything, floppy ears, too small, too tall etc and the show dogs stayed true to type. The Australian Koolie Club does not support show dogs and is dedicated to keeping Koolies bred for work. I think the Working Koolie Council has relatively few members compared to the Australian Koolie Club.
  6. This is why the Koolie Club is not seeking to have them become pedigree dogs - we want to maintain their working ability first and foremost - what they look like really is not important and can vary around the country depending on the terrain, climate, and what they are working.
  7. Perry loves the pigs ears and the lamb treats from Costco.
  8. She will be going to a youngish retired person in the country who wants a constant companion - he will be given the full picture about her.
  9. This is the offender - wearing her butter would not melt in my mouth face
  10. I don't think she will be a problem provided she is allowed to be with her new owner - when I take her out in the car or for a walk by the lake or whatever she is good as gold and very friendly with people. The problem is Perry who does not like other dogs being anywhere near me.
  11. Yes she is and Perry is determined to thwart her. I am leaving her loose in the backyard tonight - she is microchipped and has a nametag on - I think she will be safe there. Perry is reluctantly willing to share the backyard with her but not the house or her mother. Fortunately she will be going to Echuca to Koolie Rescue on Wednesday.
  12. She is strong and determined - she wants to be with me and Perry does not want that. I have had another dozen koolies - some bigger and stronger than her - in that crate without an issue but not her.
  13. It is a metal crate that she has destroyed - it is all bent out of shape - I would not want her to do that to yours.
  14. Thanks - I got this crate from Petbarn six years ago and it survived looking just fine until Tia arrived on Wednesday -- she is just desperate to be with me and Perry is not going to allow that.
  15. My 14kg young foster Koolie has just destroyed her crate - can anyone recommend an extra strong crate I can buy as a replacement?
  16. I adopted Perry without having met her - I had long discussions about her and her past and what I would do with her with two separate people from Koolie Rescue and they had me and my house checked out. I paid for her to be flown down from Armidale on the understanding that it was a three week trial and that she would be returned at my expense if it did not work out. I fell in love with her before we had left the airport - she has been a challenge at times but also a total joy and we have been together almost 9 years now.
  17. Curly is the one I had in mind - he would be a terrific dog for a boy and Koolie Rescue rehomes dogs for free to the right home.
  18. Koolie Rescue have several available - mostly based in Victoria and Echuca - if they contact me I can put them in touch with the right people - my telephone number is 02-6296-4321.
  19. I am aware that they are separate State organisations but I would like some help and advice from Michael on how to approach them and who to approach nevertheless.
  20. Thanks for the explanation Michael. Perhaps you can help with another problem we are having with the RSPCA in South Australia who are steadfastly ignoring a man who has a number of dogs on his property which are neglected, allowed to roam free and interbreed, left to get water from the river which runs through the property and feed themselves by killing wildlife. Koolie Rescue were recently given several of these dogs which someone had rescued. They were in disgusting condition (I can send you photographs), we have had them vet treated, desexed, microchipped, given basic training and are currently rehoming them. Apparently the RSPCA, which is the organisation which has powers to control animal cruelty in South Australia has known about this man for a number of years but takes no action against him to prevent him from keeping his dogs or to force him to look after them properly. If the RSPCA can get him closed down we are prepared to take and look after the dogs. Perhaps I could come and talk to you about him and get some advice.
  21. This was not the person's own dog - it was a neighbour's dog they had saved from being shot. They already have a Koolie in the RSPCA they don't want to hand over to us so I don't think they refuse to take working breeds. I think we have a couple of people interested in taking him anyway so I don't think we will have him for long.
  22. They are charging so much I am not surprised that they are not moving them.
  23. I have just been told that they are not taking any more dogs for six months! Someone who rescued a Koolie from being shot tried to give him to the RSPCA and was told this - he is coming to Koolie Rescue now.
  24. I am AB negative too but got knocked back because of the medication I am taking.
  25. Koolie Rescue will take all Koolies and Koolie crosses as long as we have room.
