He is a special little man in a good way though :) I'm happy for her to try and he's under one of my contracts which is lifetime behavioral/training help, and in any time during his life he cannot be cared for any more he comes straight back to me anyway. -

I jinxed it didn't I lol looks like he's coming back for a bit and we try round two... oh well if they're not bonding they're not bonding. So who wants a Border Collie  -
Try adding some water to help lubricate the dry food going down. Just enough to almost cover it all it can help a lot. My old bitch can do the same thing or gulp so much so fast she just stands there trying to force it down.

Guess who has almost finished his home trial without a hitch ;) He has another border collie to live with and an owner who is mostly home, lovely big backyard, dog door and more attention then he knows what to do with. -
Just use your hand with gentle pressure to prevent the dog popping up not mashing the dog down. On a table for the smaller breeds can be easier. Remove hand THEN mark and reward.

His dogs are riddled with health problems and he charges a small fortune to those who want a status symbol. When this was released the number of his puppy owners who came forward and complained about the state of their pets was staggering. Puppy farmer is nowhere near what this guy is.

At 52 seconds, second from the left with the white hair and the bite at 55 seconds into the video... oldest registered KNPV decoy well into his 70s in this video. You see more snippets throughout the video :) Yup there's hope for us all lol

BC Crazy there's an easy way to maintain engagement without making seem to much like hard work for the dog. PM me if you're having trouble :)

The dog is not in my ownership I'm trying third hand to find her a home. Though it seems I see a reason why things are happening as they are so I'm working on it ;) I already have a BC at home I'm trying to rehome lol Maybe I need to teach him a few really cool tricks to find him an uber cool home the little dude needs :D

I wouldn't also bother too hard with obedience in the early days work on his drives. You want a hunting dog dont worry about Kikopup, go find some hunters and pick the heck out of their brains.

Really not one rescue? Anywhere? I have emailed some rescues and left voicemails - nothing back at all. Maybe I should say she's got 3 legs and one eye I'm sure everyone would want her.

First We Had Pet Shops Now We Have Dog Traders
Nekhbet replied to sheena's topic in General Dog Discussion
Dog dealers have been around for a VERY long time. There's even breeders that bulk out their 'output' by purchasing gumtree litters and tacking on papers. I don't know what the surprise is pet stores have been doing this for donkeys years. -
Wandering is not just an entire male thing... I can tell you the greater majority of the problem dogs I see are desexed and this is with the behaviors that most people want to scare you with about undesexed dogs. If you're worried about him wandering build a dog yard or a dog run and put him in there when you are not home. Remember testicles are natural ;) stop worrying about your dog and enjoy him. Leave him entire and just have fun.

I am wondering how a vasectomy prevents cancer? All you are doing is destroying the tubes that carry the semen and leaving the testicles in. If you want to prevent him getting to a bitch get a decent fence. If you want him to behave train and socialise him properly. If it was my dog I wouldn't bother with a vasectomy at all, it's just an unnecessary anaesthetic to go through. Starkehre makes some great points, if you want to breed get his main register papers, do all your health tests which the Rottweiler club in your state can help you with.

Lee does weight pull, obedience, agility, rally O, endurance etc. If you want a dog for all dogsports definitely go for one of his pups. If you want to do tracking or scent sports too his dogs can easily do it. Good all rounders, lovely temperaments and yes not over done in the looks department.

Puppies are sponges, if the work is varied and he has the energy then a longer then 5 minute session is fine a few times a day. They're not that delicate particularly the working lines. If you're frustrated you're moving too fast for the pup. OK The pup sees your treat bag and immediately sits - there's already a problem. The food is commanding the dog. Build your focus in with your positions if you want formal obedience positions otherwise when the treats move so does the pup. Treats cannot give commands, you do. You don't want the pup so food focused it stops listening or when the treat it gone so is the enthusiasm to learn. If you want a dog on deer and fowl too you want the process to be part of the fun not just the end reward - you dont want a dog that gives up on a deer because it has to track too long or the scent is through difficult terrain. Slow yourself dog, engage more with the dog and leave off before the pup is over it or you frustrated. Sometimes you have to let the moment dictate what is too much or too little :D

That's a very wise thought gsd114... if you can live through one season at least to help the dog mature and help prevent spey incontinence. Season is not that hard to live with I have an entire male and 2 entire bitches in the house, OK you have to separate them but if you raise the dog to be respectful and have basic manners it's not difficult or cause too much inconvenience at all.

If anyone is wanting to come and meet him to adopt contact me :D I had a couple look at him yesterday they say he's just the most chilled out dog they've seen in a long time lol He will come with a list of provisions though because although he's improved I don't want him to regress because he's just left to do nothing in a backyard alone. He's had enough of that in his life he needs someone who will maintain the work we've done and just keep him improving. -
