Can people just socilise their dogs. Really the products are getting rediculous. Gentle this, humane that blah blah most of these products CAUSE more stress then they actually prevent. if it's bright red fresh blood it is probably from the bones or a stomach infection. If it is dark VET right now. This means it comes from higher in the digestive tract and needs medical attention ASAP

Maize is corn and no they are totally different. My Belgian was on Eagle Pack when she was a puppy, but she has been on RC Maxi for a couple of years now. I love the stuff I have all my dogs on it (well not at the mo because I'm a bit pov) but that is her breakfast then a chicken carcass for dinner. I would put Ivy on the large breed RC not the GSD. She's not a GSD she's a Belgian and there are differences in the breeds. Keep the diet even. Dont bounce it around otherwise there is no way you are providing steady nutrition especially if she is allowed to chose what she eats. She should be getting 2 meals a day any way so what I did was dry in the AM and fresh in the afternoon.

not knowing about greyhound training I cant completely comment... BUT being european I will anyway Smart dog. I think like any dog more regular training in a group situation to see if it does exhibit traits that suggest it will have issues then fix them, maybe with using more experienced dogs with it etc. Sometimes accidents happen, some dogs dont care. At lure coursing my Malinois grabbed the running line and it was still moving so slashed her lips and gums. She kept chasing and it never even dinted her enthusiasm ahhh prey drive

does he have a command? my dogs are taught a command to eat or take offered food and I find if they hear the command they are gentle even walking. I start with offering a fist with food in the middle. If the dog bites i growl and remove the hand. The point is that the dog should sniff and lick to get the mind going 'ahh there is food there, how do I get it' and not 'OMG FOOD CHOMP" which is counterproductive. When the dog is interested but not nipping i turn my hand over and slowly open my fingers to offer the food. My dogue was taught this way and despite his massive head he is so gentle when he takes food, he sort of sucks it into his mouth with his lips. do this at a sit, or go back to the palm routine while he is at a sit and start again with him. He gets food when he is calm and ONLY when he is calm then you say the word. Dont say 'Eat' *offer* chomp 'NO BAD DOG' - a dog does not understand being told off for complying.

rubbish you cannot motivate her - the trainer is too closed minded. there is always something that motivates a dog. Not hungry? well then she only gets fed during training times. doesnt want toys? if she has any prey drive at all then start removing toys and only playing with her during training times. All other time no toys or basic toys that are mediocre in her eyes you have to build drive. It doesnt just appear, it just takes a little more time in some dogs then others. Also look at your own behavior is your frustration impacting her performance, are you becoming exasperated at her without realising? if its not fun the dog wont work.

I slit my own throat on this. I charge $80 for the initial consultation (it takes longer and there is more discussion involved) then $60 for ongoing - 1 1/2 hrs. catgut is not the best for holding external wounds together. Yeah they TEND to pop especially if you trim the ends. Hence synthetics. Glue can sometimes take some pressure off the stitches (before it gets to this stage not when already like this) and that wound has not really been stitched properly at all. WEIA is right that looks like amateur blanket stitch then a surgeons work.

skin glue Dermabond or anything similar is handy to have in these situations. You can always pop some on before stitches are due to pop out

Dont chop and change diets - Just Midniara will be able to give you advice on what is the right combo for her dogs as for vets not advocating raw - yes they do get lovely kickbacks from pet food companies. Its rubbish what they scare people into buying I never have touched Hills and refuse to. Also many dont know about raw diets and hence just tell you to buy what is off the shelf even if its not the best thing ultimately for the dog.

go with raw only and be careful the meats used as well. Either that or try a food like eagle pack holistic
