Shit Rocco if you can afford that one, go for it dude. I would.

Does your camera have active d lighting?
-
They look fine to me, looks like you had a few shadow areas due to position of sun in the second one which is also hard. I think they are great.

Triple Pelvic Osteotomy - Should We Do It.
rugerfly replied to mokhahouse's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Doing major surgery is hard. Doing major surgery on a young gundog is harder BUT it can be done. If you have the money I say go for it. Give the little fella a cuddle for me. -
Oh I meant him for any type of ortho (general) surgery. Also if you want a specialist's opinion, David Ledbetter at North Parramatta Vet specialists is excellent. (he did ruger's Pancarpal arthrodesis)

Without a doubt Rob Zammit

Yep those two are good rocco. It is tricky isnt it. You will find the further away the background the more room you have to fit the whole dogs head in focus front on

Happy Late birthday

Kirs, something else to consider if using manual settings, and it makes it easier being head on if you have lower light situations and you wont have to sacrifice your depth of field. Direction of Movement For a given shutter speed, if your subject is running perpendicular to the camera, then you need a faster shutter speed to capture the shot. If your subject is running at an angle towards the camera, then a slower shutter speed would suffice. An example is a photo of your pet dog. A dog running towards you would require a slower shutter speed then a dog running across you.

Tess, I've carted a D3 and a 80-400 around for a while now, you do get used to the weight, but the D3 is a big heavy camera too. Cant wait to see some pics. How weird that it is a push pull.

Use a Nikon D3 and a 80-400mm zoomy  The 'coming towards you shots' are the easiest action shots to take apparantly and I forget why I think i was on 1/1000 for this. A lot of it will depend on your light too so dont forget to bump up your ISO a tad if you need to get some speed.

yep and also explained in the sequence of photos in the link in my last post. Its handy to have.

Its a magic Nikon thing its the bomb and takes out shadows on your photos. you can apply it whilst playing back your images on the screen. http://www.flickr.com/photos/samfeinstein/tags/dlighting/ have a look at these, (not mine)
