you will probably also need to have him on glucosamine and chondroiten such as 'joint food' by natures way or similar in supermarket...the powder form is great....you should be giving him this every night, same as sashas blend but not so dear...this will help him a great deal. Cartrophen injections are not expensive either. Also perhaps seek the opinion of a muscle manipulator, often vets dont know alot about the goings on in the nerve/muscle department. These guys can really help a lot.

are you letting him off lead? probably dont, he will have to have controlled walks and no zoomies....stopping twisting turning is what makes him ouch and rotate's the hip a bit too much.. walkies on leash daily if you can probably not quite 3kms see how he goes.....poor little baby.

Is It Important To Desex A Male Dog?
rugerfly replied to Haze's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Hi there from aus.... you sound very caring about your little boy. Desexing a male dog is considered to be a very simple opperation, its interestring to know that your vet does pre op check up too Im sure your little guy wont change, cept his wee might not stink as much love the pics.. -
well that is good news....yep, no dramas when its on and off.....just have to watch if they jump up on your bed....

my bitch became incontinent after desexing at around two years old...she was on stilbestrol and still is occasionally. Now I can put it down to after heavy exercise, then and usually only then. When they lay down and relax completely, she wets her pants. Shes had it for four years now. No biggy. she keeps herself pretty clean.

Dog Pulls Towards Other Dogs When On Walks

check chains dont do a thing for my strong boy who leaps and bounds at everything, neither does the halti im using. they eventually overcome the discomfort that it causes by squishing up their faces and eyes and twisting their neck. Im saving up for another prong collar for him. Its a hard situation for you to be in but dont wait too long to get the right equiptment or you will teach your dog to pull so hard, just like i did, without even knowing it. -
originally when first starting out with my gsp (shes very driven :D ) at an obedience club, they didnt allow check chains so i had a choice of a halti or a half check thingy. the half check thingy didnt do a dam thing and now i know why. AFter now seeing how they are supposed to be fitted, i can see that it would work a treat and require little force. I found that the halti was too much of a distraction for her and she was too busy trying to avoid it. Try the limited martingale half check thingy but needs to be correctly fitted.

Nsw Rotti Fun Day - Not So Much Fun
rugerfly replied to Jefe's owners's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Im sorry your rotty fun day was spoilt by such silly remarks.... I cant believe i waited so long to get a prong collar. IF they hurt so bad and are cruel, why is fly jumping out of her skin to get it on and doing excited yips whilst walking in it. I also dont have to issue a correction...if it tightenes, she backs off, thats the end of it. Good luck with your little rotty boy, i hope you make some real progress with him. :D -

yep, i second a crate in the house. till they learn their spot, dont let them have the run of the house. Then again i cant practice what i preach... seriously, a puppy should learn to love its crate, so dont leave it just for punishment.....buy one now before its too late...
