Im not understanding much either. Who is she being bossy with?
-
what a beautiful face........Im sure dasher has lots of loving friends in doggy heaven.

you seen lion cubs when the big ones lie down on the ground? They jump all over them. I guess that she is feeling more confident with them at a lower relaxed level?
-
hrmmmm......she may be a real softie, ie, have a soft temprement......tell him to be firm, but no shouting unless she does something naughty, then it should be more gruff than shouting. No point at ALL yelling at her. Or repeating yourself. If she doesnt do something you know she understands, gently remind her. She may not like loud noises, and did not like your boyfriends friends around, tried to find a quiet place and messed up a bit. hard to undertsand that behaviour sometimes.

you are right, it is less frequent now you mention it.....gawsh my baby is turning seven tomorrow.....

I'd disagree that they are notorious whingers, or hard to live with. Each case is different, unfortunatly, some people give up on them to easily when they outsmart their owners as puppies :D Firstly, thankyou for adopting this boy, you sound like you are on the right track. A firm no, growl or similar when he jumps at the door will soon curb his habbits, but be consistent. Hes at that real juvenile age, so time to remind him whos who in the zoo! Wish you all the best of luck.

good news!

sounds like this guy had absolutely no human contact except for feeding. How come he was four months when you got him? Im really glad you are going well with him and you are doing the right thing. Goldies are very resilient and forgive and hopefully forget gradually. He will forget his past life as he is still young.

I growled at Ruger. He was one of the puppy's showdog described, loved to carry my clothes around in his mouth, with me in them. He was ever so gentle though. I still let him take me by the hand sometimes. They are like horses, ages ago, mine would nibble at me, then get a bit firmer, then he would take a big nip and throw his head as if he knew, dam smart ass - he's testing me....

totally. big play day means tired pooch. Dont worry too much Sorry bout the pound mix up, i got the wrong impression about where you got her from. She looks like a dog that will get a bit of sense about her fairly early on, Im sure everything will catch on soon.
-
P STampy, what are you doing up so early hahahaha. Its sunday!!! She is just adorable. She will get there. I have no idea, but im guessing she may be a spot of trouble to train after peeing where she sleeps in her cage at the pound?? Not sure, but good luck. Confined spaces in the house so you can watch her and PS we want more photos as she grows.

I'd say three to four poos might be one or two attempts and he/she may be a poo walker. Ie, poo walk a bit then poo again. If he/she is doing three to four, its getting way too much food for its main meal. How is its weight going? Sometimes my male GSP will poo on concrete if the grass is wet or its raining. He grew out of it mostly, im sure your little one will too, in time.

sounds ideal its nice to have all dogs that you own get on.

Personally I think you cant really interfere by not 'letting her get away with it' makes them resent the puppy and you. How do you get all your dogs to establish equal pack order Showdog? may i ask what breed you have?
-
I think you should let her assert her authority over him. If they are just mouthing and making noise, its fairly normal. The female will accept a certain amount of 'cheek' from him, but girls know best and know how to boss best. She will win in the end and sort him out hopefully. Continue to keep an eye on them, it takes a while for things to get sorted.
