  2. Thats funny fiona Yep Ruger is scared to death of my parents chi and give him plenty o respect !
  3. Yes yes the pork chop thing...... I have tried the pigs ear with poor little fly and she knows now and screams and barks before I even leave :p *must practice more*
  4. Yep if you get the best out of that one, then move on I say there is a nikon telephoto around that price, cant remember which one it is, its a non VR but a goodun. will check today.
  5. Yes they is smart. Its the triggers even we dont know we are giving. How cute is cherry! i wanna see more pics now
  6. i'd love the 70-200 too but no way in this world I can afford it
  7. This head shot was the 50mm 1.8 This movement shot was 18-200 eta the cocker was sharpened though wasnt happy with focus and shadows.
  8. Im pretty happy with my 18-200 VR its not THE BEST lens ever, its worth around 950-1000, enough zoom for movement shots across the ring etc. I shoot at shows too, and yea, i've had a few good ones. I use a 50mm 1.8 for portraits, if you tell me your budget, perhaps that will help. I dont think its much use getting a 70-300, the 18-200 covers heaps and its great for close in shots too. Its also light. What do you have already?
  9. thanks!!! *sits here playing with D3* God I missed it while I was away from work.
  10. Thank god, another Nikon user. Practice taking heaps of photos and you wont even need photoshop with the Nikon, unlike some other camera owners *just kidding*
  11. RIP Garry. He had been sick for a little while, but I remember having a good laugh with him about his lead whilst stewarding a short time ago. A real Icon of the obedience world. I cant imagine how his dogs will be without him
  12. yep its exactly like that. Ruger is too stupid, but Fly knows when Im even thinking about going somewhere...
  13. Yes you would be in heaven, whilst Ruthie is in the not heaven
  14. It was hard when I first got Rugs, as Fly was still doing obedience training.......hmmmmm, six years ago .....
  15. Ill give him a bone all right straight to his meaty hard head....I just got smashed in the nose OUUUUUUUUUUUCH....
  16. Plus, Midol you trouble maker you, I wasnt referring to how hard it is to train them. Its EASY when you know how. Dont quote me as saying that, it was all about some git saying blindly about keeping dogs under control. In reference to trainability, Fly had her CD title in under twelve months of age, placing first, second and third in a row. High prey drive makes competition easy. Sometimes 'social' situations are different. Same with every dog.
  17. Wasnt exactly about trainability, of course they are one of the most highly trainable groups because of how naughty they are. Its exactly that. It was about naughtyness and control and learning how if you dont know
  18. what colour was the subject in the dark photo. Its great that you are using manual. Keep fiddling around and reading your data.
  19. Camera lighting 'metering' or sensors if you like are very sensitive and even if you turn in another direction 90 degrees or less the lighting will change. Depending on where your subject is or what light is in its background. Can you tell us what settings they were? Auto ISO sucks IMO and could be the reason your camera was changing the lighting. Have a look at the exif data on a good one and a dark one, can you tell us what they were if you cant load the pics?
  20. hmmm on the nikon, with mf there is a dot that stay's solid when the subject is in focus (around focus points anyway) and flashes if it cant or is out of focus. Cant help you with the Canot
  21. Yep if you havnt got either, its a matter of what feels best in your hands.
  22. Good luck with your puppy, stay strong if you can! Your lucky your young pup walks on a lead make sure all her experiences outside when old enough, are safe ones, and she should remain nice and confident.
