I would be interested in replies as well as I have just (last week) mated a bitch to two different boys. All 3 parents are DNA tested already and I know I have to DNA puppies before I register them. I believe that they need to be chipped first, then DNA tested and finally registered with the kennel control. These are the regulations I found: 6.5 Multiple Sire Litters - Intentional or Unintentional Multiple Sired Litters (10/07, 7.2) 6.5.1 Any breeder who has either intentionally or unintentionally used multiple sires over a bitch must, when applying to register the resultant litter, submit the following documents together with the appropriate Service Certificates and Application for Registration. 6.5.1.1 DNA Test certificate in respect of each of the multiple sires used; 6.5.1.2 DNA Test certificate in respect of the Dam of the litter; 6.5.1.3 DNA Test certificates in respect of each puppy in the litter which are all required to be tested at the same time; 6.5.1.4 A certificate given by a Veterinary Surgeon providing an interpretation of the results of the DNA Tests as to the correct parentage of the litter. 6.5.2 Registration of the litter concerned will be processed based on the results provided in the Veterinary Certificate. 6.5.3 All costs associated with obtaining the certificates required are to be borne by the breeder of the litter

Any chance we can get a breakdown on each team in each division with competition points? Would be interested to see how close some of the teams were. -

First Time In Obedience
Yarrowfell replied to africandreams's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I do Obedience and Showing with both the Dallies and my Pug. Obedience has taken back stage atm to Flyball but hopefully I will have Daisy in CD soon and the new baby in CCD. You can do both and the obedience really can compliment the showing. I love doing a "stand" with the Pug on the table and then standing back so the judge can look at her without me holding her. -
"Swimmers tail" is what we call it because some of the dallies are prone to it after they have been swimming in the dam for hours and then come out. It usually rights itself within a few days.
-
Whooo!!! I have two left feet but I really want to give it a try. So can you help with what is required at the starters level?
-
I heard the CDC might be starting classes - can anyone confirm? Can anyone give a basic run down on what is involved is a starters routine - I have read the ANKC rules but really just want to see what a starters routine is like (Video links would be great). Thanks.

Ocd - Hyperactive - Head Strong

The more Pugs in Flyball the better. Am happy to help anyway I can from bringing him down here to just helping if you want to train him up there. He sounds like my kind of Pug - crazy and mad. Just the way I like them. What Flyball club are you heading out to see? -

Anne, If you need any help with him just let me know. Happy to take him down here for a while and at least get some basic obedience in so you can then look at rehoming him. -
What Is The Procedure For Getting A Title?
Yarrowfell replied to BittyMooPeeb's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Yes you will get a certificate. The choice is the ACT are: $18.00 - gets you the dogs rego papers (with the new title on it) and a title certificate. [ Add $5.00 and get a breeders certificate as well. (Don't have one of these scanned) Add $18.00 and get a sash with the dogs name and title. -
We had a great day racing on the Good Friday. Dogs loved it and we were exhaused but will definately be back next year.

The Pug is Daisy (Dual Ch Yarrowfell Wicked in Silk CCD FDCh CGC). Here are a few more of her: Trigger (Ch Kimico Spring Tension FDCh) - Min Pin: Magnus (Ch Yarrowfell Gold Sovereign CCD FDCh CGC ET) - Dalmatian: -
Fantastic - thank you. I have a better understanding of what she needs to do now. Hopefully we can get this started in the ACT - would love to take the other dogs out.
-
So how do you gain points towards this title? Is it the only title? Would love to help out but I am not in QLD - just sending a dog up there to race and I wanted to get a better knowledge of what she has to do.
-
Thanks Bear. Been there - read the site - it still doesn't explain titles very well. Will Google to see what else I can find.
-
Can anyone tell me how the titles work in Lure Coursing (and what you have to do for each title). The are not ANKC titles correct? Just about to send one of my dogs up to QLD and the lady looking after her is interested in taking her Lure Coursing. Do I need to join the Lure Coursing Association? Do I need to register the dog with them?

We weren't sure if his Parvo level would be really high (seeing he has already had it) or really low (hence why he caught it in the first place). Worried about the Distemper results - can you just vaccinate for that or do I have to do a C3 again? Now the idea is that his low immunity may be inherited. Tempted to do him parents now and see what they come back with.
-
Just an update for those interested. I got Magnus' results back yesterday. The vet gave a quick run down of how to read the results: Levels of 20+ - Immunity excellent Level of 5-20 - Immunity OK Level of less that 5 - Low immunity, consider re-vaccinating. Magnus' Parvo immunity level was 80+ (they only test up to 80) His Distemper level was 5 Interesting results for a dog that was vaccinated about 5 months ago and had Parvo when he was 6 months old (he is now 3).
-
Yep - for Magnus My vet will do the C3 for 3 years - if fact that's what my others guys got a few months ago. From memory it was about $40 for the C3 (3 yearly). Will keep you posted on Magnus' results.
-
All done. Blood taken this morning - should have results back in a week.
-
Ok - just talked to the vet in Kambah: $83.15 for Distempter and Parvo $152.46 for DHP
