Yes please. I am really only interested in Parvo as one of my guys got Parvo as a 6 months old (and he was FULLY immunised). He is now 3 years and I am curious to see what his levels are now.

Can you give me name of the clinic in Kambah?

Can anyone tell me what vets they have used in Canberra. I understand I can just get my vet to draw blood and send to WA but I don't really want all the drama of getting the vet to do it if he has never done one before. Would be much easier to go to a vet that is used to doing it and knows exactly what to do.

I am pleased to announce that at the Canb Royal Flyball Competition both Magnus (Ch Yarrowfell Gold Sovereign CCD ET CGC) - Dalmatian, and Trigger (Kimico Spring Tension) - Miniature Pinscher, gained their FDX titles. This was Magnus' second competition and he managed to gain 18 points for the weekend. It was Trigger's 1st competition and she gained 48 points over the weekend - running most of the two days as she was the height dog. Looking forward to the next comp now!!

I was just looking at these guys as well. They seems much cheaper than any of the other companies. Has anyone used them?

As a member of both there is some differences between the two clubs. CDC (Symonston): CDC is geared more towards the people that want to trial. Classes go up to UDX level. The foundation work at CDC is much better (in my opinion) for dogs that go on to trial. ie: retrieving etc starts in the lower classes Access to large off lead area Also do Flyball / Agilty etc.. Tuggeranonong is geared more towards the "pet people" and having a good, well mannered dog. They clicker train (only ACT club to do so) Classes stop at Novice so if you want to trial at Open / UD you will need to move clubs. Access to large off lead area Also do Flyball / Agilty etc.. Both are very good clubs and I would happily reccomend either. I am a member of both as I take different dogs to each club depending on what I eventually want to do with them. I also attend Flyball at Tuggeranong.

All AFA titles will be recognised by any ANKC state office. You need to take you AFA title certificate in and pay the fee and the Flyball title will be added to your ANKC papers. This is part of the agreement signed between the AFA and the ANKC in Jan this year.

I am pleased to announced that on Friday I processed Daisy's FDCH with the ACTCA office and she will now be know as Dual Champion Yarrowfell Wicked in Silk CCD FDCh. She has her CGC as well but that is not an ANKC title. I am very proud of girl as she is not even 2 years old yet. We will now concentrate of finishing off our obedience titles I think and some time next year she will take time out to have a litter. Not many dogs obtain a Dual title and there has certainly never been a Pug achieve it until now!!

(i) what breed is your dog - Pug (ii) was the dog obtained as a puppy or adult - Puppy (bred her) (iii) if obtained as an adult, did the dog have any prior training (eg., ex-show dog) - N/A (iv) how was your dog taught the hold/retrieve? Clicker Trained. Forced hold in mouth a day or so. (v) have you previously trained other dogs to retrieve - if you have, did you find this dog learnt faster than you previous dog? Obedience trained dogs but never to the poit they needed to retrieve anything  Took her about a week to get her to bring things back. Another 2-3 weeks for a proper retrieve and then a few weeks to teach her the difference between a retrieve for Obedience (wait for command and sit at end) v's a retrieve for Flyball (flies out to get it and spits it at my feet) Now the Dalmatians - 6 months on and we are still working on it....

Yarrowfell replied to Yarrowfell's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
We had 18 dogs turn up of which 16 passed. Breeds included Dalmatians. Boxers, Siberain Husky's and my Pug. We took 2 Dallies and the Pug. I am pleased say they all passed. Ch Yarrowfell Abacus CCD ET CGC (Morse) Yarrowfell High Fashion CGC (Rose) and the Pug Ch Yarrowfell Wicked in Silk CCD FDX CGC (Daisy) It was a fantastic day - plans underway to run another one in a year or so. -
Just an update. I received Daisy's ANKC certificate for her FD title yesterday from the ACTCA. When I get a chance I will scan it and post it here. I am about to lodged her title application for her FDX now.
-
Yep I understood this as well however they still couldn't tell me what proof I need to claim a title. I ended up taking my AFA membership details with her microchip number, her ANKC papers with her microchip number, the receipt from the AFA for her FD and a copy of the AFA spreadsheet with her points. Her FD title is being processed now - should have her papers back in a few days.
-
So has anyone tried to claim an ANKC title with AFA points yet? I spent quite a while on the phone to several State bodies a few days ago getting info on how to claim an ANKC Flyball title with AFA points.

Yep come to Canberra and run a few here, then Ziggy can come and play with his sister!! -
While sitting at the trial this weekend we were discussing ANKC titles and what you now needed to be a Dual Champion. I found this on a website: The ANKC will issue a Dual Champion certificate to a dog which has been awarded the titles of Conformation Champion and Herding Champion Field Trial Champion, Retrieving Trial Champion, Obedience Trial Champion. Tracking Champion Is this all of them? What about an Agilty Ch? Are they allowed to be a Dual Ch? Are there any others I have forgotten about?

Australia's First Flyball Titled Pug*
Yarrowfell replied to Yarrowfell's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Those are 1 ½ inch balls – from USA. I found even smaller ones (1 inch) yesterday in a pet store here in Canberra. Can’t wait to try them at training tonight. Rose is doing well. In Tranistion at Obedience club, has her first CCD competition at the Dally National in June. She is retrieving well and LOVES her tennis balls. Can’t wait to get her to Flyball, she will be fast and crazy :D -

Australia's First Flyball Titled Pug*

I put a brag in the brag's thread but Daisy wanted to have her own thread. On Saturday in Canberra my girl managed to get 15 points towards her Flyball titles. This gives her, her FD title and not far to go to her FDX. She will know be known as Yarrowfell Wicked in Silk CCD FD (Pending approval) I have attached some pictures Lara took on the day. Thanks Lara. -
I just wanted to brag that my Pug got her FD on Saturday and is now 3 points off her FDX. She will now be known as Yarrowfell Wicked in Silk CCD FD. I am very happy . She ran like a pro only dropping the ball twice and got 15 points for the day.

I am after suggestions on how to teach my girl that she needs to get the ball from the hole in the flyball box. She has a great (well I think so) turn but has got the idea to trigger the box and then get the ball from the ground and then come back. I have been working on a turning board for the last few days and getting her to get the ball on the full from the turning board and if she knocks if off I grab it and she doesn't get a reward. She is 100% at that now. However..I try and then transfer this to the box and we go back to setting the box off and then getting the ball from the ground.
