I'm sorry Pandii, but you did the best you could for Trez. If you couldn't help him, no-one could. Rest easy Trez, now that you are at peace.

Where Do You Buy Your Clippers?
tramissa replied to tramissa's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Isn't nicestman77 from clipperworld? Have been looking at clipperworld and it does seem to be the best for range and pricing, just wasn't sure if there were better places out there. -
Looking for online stores to purchase clippers from. Prefer Oster, Wahl or Andis. Thanks!

It can be humid and cold at the same time

Was it humid by any chance? No idea where you are. Minnie does it when it's humid (even sometimes when I can't tell it's humid because the temp is low).

huh? I'm still not sure what this thread is about?

I'd say your biggest problem is, by having toilet stops in the crate and in the house (on paper), you are still encouraging him to go inside. Reduce the room in the crate - crate is for sleeping, not toileting. Set your alarm to get up once during the night, particularly if you want to sleep longer. Or get up at 5 as you have been, outside till he goes - no talking, no fun. Praise, inside and in the crate and back to bed. This is the time you have to be REALLY consistent. He will get there soon

Crisovar, that was my thoughts. That despite how good Nutro is (and I'm not disclaiming it), unfortunately it's just not right for her. We've only got a small amount left and then will be switching to another food. Will only be buying the smallest bags until I can figure out which she does best on
-
She is on the Nutro Natural Choice Senior. Could be the small bites senior - the biccies are in maybe 1/2cm sizes with a small hole in the middle. Silver bag (I only just threw out the bag not long ago). I could not find a senior lite version. She should be getting 1/2 - 1 cup per day (if fed nothing else, for moderate activity). She's currently getting 1/4 cup in the morning (or thereabouts, I just pick up a very small handful - it would be less than 1/4 cup), then whatever is left in the afternoon is mixed with a very small handful of Leonard's mince. She gets a turkey neck once per week and nothing else on that day. The tear staining began in the first month of switching to nutro. Her ears got a lot worse as well (yeast infections). We've just started swimming her (yay for new house with a pool), so hopefully that will help with her weight as she's not liking walks much anymore (getting too hot for her now).
-
Unfortunately Nutro hasn't worked for my girl I am really disappointed about it as it is a great food, but for her, it's increased yeastiness and staining and she gets only not even a handful per day (less than 1/4 of recommended feeding) and she's still having issues with weight (which started only after beginning the nutro). We're finishing the bag and then will try another brand of food.

Staining Around Mouths
tramissa replied to Owned by Shelties's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
change to a more natural diet, add Apple cider vinegar daily (I add to moist food). Hesapandabear, I actually found the staining on my girl only started once I started feeding nutro. If I take her off it, the stains start fading, once back on, stains come back. Going to be finishing this bag and then no more nutro. -
He will probably be okay Thousands of dogs eat them with no problems, there's just a high proportion of those that do. If he 'gummed' it, rather than breaking it into chunks and swallowing it, he'll probably be okay

If you do a search for greenies you should find the thread. Have definitely heard more than a few cases where they have caused death.

I am so sorry I can only echo what others have said.

Puppy Bleeding From Anal Passage
tramissa replied to doggie_lover's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Bright red blood is blood on the extremity and not much to worry about (although if her whole sloppy poo is red blood, definitely something to worry about). Dark red/brown blood is blood that is 'old' therefore either travelled or been there for a while. This IS something to worry about. If your pup has enough blood coming from her anus for you to say it is pooing blood, you should have been at an emergency vet after the first time - please go and call one NOW. It may be nothing, or you may have a dead pup by morning. -

Emergency vet. Look in your yellow pages - there will be one for your area. Your local vet service should also have the emergency vet number on their answering machine. -
I'm so very sorry DA. What a beautiful tribute to a beautiful girl! May you forever have a flock to herd Holly.

Ask to have this moved to either the dane thread or the health/nutrition thread. People usually only look in the breed sub forum for threads on their own breed, not a health topic The dane thread would have dane people though, who should be able to advise you, or general advice in the health/nutrition forum
