The cloudier it is, the better it is - all the pressing and processing for supermarket brand stuff takes out most of the goodness. It should still have sediment in the bottom of it. I get mine from the health food store. About $10 for 2 litres, but it lasts a while. I put it on my 2's wet food. Between the 2 of them I put 1 capful. It helps with any yeast type problems you might have too I love the stuff now.

Whats The Shortest Clip You Have Done
tramissa replied to charlie mouse's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I do my own, but I do clip my pet girl in a #10 body. She prefers it and I quite like it. It's also good for swimming -

Puppy Pre-school Teacher Hates Sentinel Spectrum..
tramissa replied to Beks's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
What she says about sentinel and fleas is correct - it stops the life cycle, not the fleas themselves. If you live in a flea area, none of the intestinal wormers are going to help. Sentinel is a wormer primarily, it just has the secondary effect of sterilising fleas. It's a great product for what it is. I used it along with a tick collar on my girl when we first moved up here. Now that we're swimming lots, the collar isn't much good. If you live in a flea/tick area, best to use something like interceptor (does all the worms that sentinel does) plus advantix spot on - fortnightly for paralysis tick prevention, or monthly for other ticks if you're not in a paralysis area. Works for fleas too. For major flea infestations, capstar + treating the area (bedding, carpets, under house etc) is really the only way to start. -
Ok, this is a stupid question, but what organisation is RAFF?

Old Girl Has Just "wet" On The Couch
tramissa replied to Weeacre's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I'm guessing it is the smell you are worried about? Not the fact that she wet on the couch? Or rather, the 2 together... Was it a concentrated smell, or was it a 'urine + something else' smell? -
Nah. As you know, I'm placing my next order of nutro through you As I said - you guys do a GREAT job. Just important for people to know (and I know for myself, makes me trust the supplier more).

Very Worried - 6 Month Old Puppy
tramissa replied to hortfurball's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Daw, I loves our Pixie Great advice!! With my girl, I held her and walked into the pool. Sat down and let her put her feet on the bottom. Then (because she's small it's easier), I usually put one hand under her belly and let her paddle away and she can't go anywhere. -

You don't have to have a pool to go swimming Creeks, Dams, beach etc. or do you know anyone with a backyard pool? Swimming is unreal for building up their leg muscles and getting condition. I started my 10 year old swimming when we moved into this house in September. I can see a big difference already, that that's just 10 mins a few times a week. Now that it's getting hotter, she'll be in nearly every day. -

Pixie recently had her darling kaeliegh pts due to other issues, but I know she was successfully managing severe HD. Swimming was a big thing, and diet. Please PM her to ask exactly what she was doing - it made a HUGE difference. It may also partially correct as she grows into her bones as well. Slowing down her growth, limiting her exercise etc is vitally important until she has finished growing. It is possible that with the high protein and good food she's been getting, she has grown too quickly and therefore she doesn't fit together as well atm. Building up muscle to support the hip joints will help to stabilise them. Whatever you choose, good luck - she can still live a long and happy life with the right management. -
Oh no I am so sorry Cass RIP Oakley.

I don't have BCs, but I always go against with the slicker, and then comb it down with a comb or pin brush.

What Are The Choices With Desexing?
tramissa replied to Ellis's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Kadbury, I think she meant mammary tumours, not cancers Only a small percentage of tumours are cancerous. That's my interpretation anyway -
Has she been vaccinated lately? And...I have to ask. Why does your ticker for your dogs birthday show a woman breastfeeding a child?

each food is different. If you read the pack it will tell you. The amount is if you feed dry food only, so reduce it based on how much extra you feed.

I know this is repeated - but wanted to reply here too. I am so sorry darling girl. I hadn't realised things had gotten so bad with her. Reading what you have posted, no, you did not have any other choice. I don't think anyone here would even doubt how much you loved your girl. Certainly no-one who has seen you with her would doubt it and how you would fight to the end for her - unless, as is the case, it wasn't in her best interests. Kaeleigh has always known how much you adored and loved her. She will be watching over you all and will be waiting for you. I will never forget Kaeleigh as a baby - that god awful screaming at 5am. Both of us at ungodly hours of the morning trying desperately to shut her up. Her funny little wriggle as she tried to get around to lick our faces. How she managed to somehow do a running leap in about 2 metres of space, onto your bed - hard enough I thought she'd go right through it at times. Trying kibble and various raw foods to try and find a diet that wouldn't upset her tummy! Trying to stop her from jumping as a puppy, when she loved to jump and run. Kaeleigh - you've left a huge hole in your mummy's heart and a big hole in the heart of all who loved you - mine included. But we cannot regret the missing pieces as we would be so much poorer for not having loved you. RIP Kaeleigh.

Hoping he will be okay!!! Not only puppies get it. Vacced adult dogs can also get it - but it's not usually as severe as puppy parvo. Hopefully some fluids and TLC and he will be fine. Scratches and kisses to him.

Vet Just Told Me What I Am Feeding Is All Wrong
tramissa replied to Veanna's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
New vet. Just read your last post - cancel puppy school and when they ask why say 'I don't trust that the vet has kept up with current practice and knowledge and therefore cannot provide the best care for my pets'. -
There will be a feeding guide on the packet of patties, otherwise 2 - 3% of body weight per day. My 5.5kg bitch used to get 1/2 patty per day.
