My 2 have been back on BARF now for 5 weeks and I am only just really noticing improvements. There were small things as early as 1 - 2 weeks in, but it took at least 3 weeks for my boy's gut to settle (main reason for changing back to raw) and now at 5 weeks I've noticed a HUGE difference in their coats etc.

Lump On Top Of Neck A Week After Vaccination
tramissa replied to DogsLover's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Yes I started to freak out when it happened to Moo last vacc, then I realised what it was and about 10 days later it was gone. -
unfortunately you can't control what comes up in the google ads. The more people mention pet shops, oodles etc, the more likely google will put ads about those things - it picks up on the words used most often and tailors the ads to those themes.

Hi KJ, I know someone on a list I'm on had a bichon puppy that had it - have sent out a query asking who it was (was a while ago now) and will pass their email addie on to you. I don't think it was her first strangles puppy so hopefully she will be able to help you

My own personal experience - picked Jonno (who was 3) up from the airport and I timed it so I got there just before his crate was brought over (it goes to a different building here). Got him out, took him to the front of the freight area to a grassy spot and let him wee (have plastic bags just in case he needs to do more). I brought a bowl and a bottle of water with me so he could have a drink. Ran up and down the small grassy patch a few times to stretch his legs and had a few cuddles We then came home. Knowing my girl at home so well, I didn't bother going to a park or anything. I kept Jonno on lead and let them look at each other through the glass doors first, then opened one and let Moo come in. Waited till they had a bit of a sniff and let them both off. Been best friends ever since. BUT, my girl is extremely placid and docile and has never reacted in a bad way to a strange dog. You will need at a minimum, crate to take him home in (if the one he is flying in is not owned by you) collar and lead for a walk plastic bags for poo pickup bowl and bottle of water for a drink Have fun with your new pup ;)

Sheridan, I was talking generally - those are usually the first things you look for when you have signs of excess protein, especially if it is in the urine. There are many rare diseases (and taking that from what you have said) but you don't generally test for rare conditions when first presenting, as it usually isn't them.
-
Generally protein shows up in tests as a result of something attacking the body tissues (muscle etc). It is usually a sign of infection (outside agent causing damage) or can be autoimmune (body attacking itself as it thinks the cells are not supposed to be there)

I found a lump, vet visit next day - 2 mins for needle aspirate and we got a fatty cyst diagnosis - well worth the $45 for peace of mind immediately.

no, sentinel does intestinal worms, heartworm and fleas. Ticks are NOT covered at all. Interceptor does intestinal worms and heart worm. Advantix does ticks and fleas. If you don't need tick coverage, just use sentinel on its own. If you DO need tick coverage, use Interceptor + advantix. Using sentinel + advantix doubles up on flea meds - not good for long term use.

I'm so sorry

I find I do use both settings - higher speed on the body, low speed on the feet/toes/face/genital areas. Definitely comes in handy

The wahl are great, but any clippers will get hot after a while. I usually have to change my blade (or turn it off) after about 20 mins. I love my set though  Just need more blades to swap over so I don't have to stop.

I have the same problem CBL

My two both LOVE fruit. Any kind, any time. They usually get it during summer because one of our favourite 'dinners' during summer is a big fruit platter. Kiwi fruit, banana, any melon, any berry... They obviously don't get grapes etc, and I don't give them much - more of a taste, not a meal. Although, I remember mum once sneaking quite a bit to them before I realised and oh my lord, I made her clean up after them for the next 2 days!!!! She now understands why I say enough after a little bit.

You need to be taking her out far more often - once an hour, straight after she wakes up, eats, or has a play session. Stand still and don't initiate play or say anything other than your toileting command, then, when she has done it, gets a treat and a play. I wouldn't worry about the back door at this stage - she's still learning that outside is where to go, so she can't put the second step, as in going through the door to get outside, together until she gets the first bit - it's up to you to make sure she goes through the door

Oh shit. This has to be one of my worst nightmares. Your poor carer RIP Rowdy, goat, chooks and 2 other dogs What a nightmare.

She could also have a susceptibility to yeast etc - try a small amount of mylanta each day. I've put my 8kg dog onto about 50ml of mylanta per day (to start with, down to every 2nd day in the 2nd week and so on) and within the first 48 hours of treatment, his eye goobers had changed from a red colour, to a white colour. I stopped the mylanta suddenly after 5 days and it took a week, but it is now back to red. Needless to say, he's just gone back on it It changes the pH balance of the stomach and stops the bacteria/yeast from being able to breed and therefore producing the red colour.

Bella, I am so sorry I kept praying for a miracle. Asher has touched the hearts of all who saw/heard/met him - I can't imagine how big the hole in the hearts of you and OH at the moment. I have faith that Dianne was there to greet him at the bridge and to ensure that he settles in. I think Dianne would have gotten special permission to journey to the bridge to greet all the sheppies that arrive to wait for their human halves. He is not in pain anymore and he will be watching over you - his huge heart filled with love. big hugs coming from our household to yours tonight and in the coming days.

I just saw this now, thank you Harminee it is lovely, I'm going to print it off right now and give it to my husband. I could hardly read it for crying. I hope if you are ever in trouble someone will be as kind as this to you. It's not even my dog, but that picture and that poem together have me sitting here bawling like a little baby. That is beautiful Harminee.
