I add glucosomine powde to my little girl's food...it's made a huge difference - I could really tell after a few weeks...

Is there anything other than kennels that require a dog to be vaccinated (i.e., I think the agility club down the road requires a vaccination certificate?) and if so, is this generally C5 or will C3 do?

Age Of Your Dog Starting Obedience?
tramissa replied to goldieneale's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Ergh, I just called Rainsbury (sp?) School about my 8 year old Lowchen. I got told she was too old and because she already heels, comes when called and sits (and is learning drop) they had nothing more to teach her and that an obedience school would be too much for her. -
$60 per box (4 rolls) of patties - Minnie gets 1/2 pattie (she's approx 7kg) per night so that last about 80 days. - $0.75 per day Bag of brisket bones = approx 15 bones for $2.50 and 2kg of chicken necks (I think there was 29 in the last lot) for $3 - 3 per day on the days she doesn't get brisket - say 10 days... - average $0.22 per day So for actual feeding - $0.97 per day. Pigs ears - $15 for 10 - she gets about 2 - 3 per week so 10 would last her about a month - say $0.50 per day averaged out. Various treats - probably about $3 per week - she usually gets a bit of devon or ham or cheese - pretty much whatever I have around anyway. I bought some packet treats tonight that were $3 and these will last her at least 2 weeks - longer if I mix it with the other treats mentioned above. On average say 0.50 per day in treats Total - $1.97 per day... damn, that's cheaper than I thought!!

Not much to say except lots of love and sympathy being sent your way. Cry as much as you want and know they will always live on in your heart.

When I was finding out info about it I was told 'some dogs have reactions to it - enough dogs to be a problem. If your dog has a reaction to it, it's essentially got this poison in its system for 12 months'. Why chance it? Is it really that hard to remember to give your dogs a tablet once a month?

Premade Barf Patties

You wouldn't HAVE to - but your wallet might want you too My girl is approx 7kg and she gets 1/2 pattie + 2 - 3 chicken necks or 1 brisket piece per day. makes it very economical for me. -
Never paid to have a dog washed. Then again, I've only had toy sized dogs (under 10kg) so it's not worth it - bathtub does them fine and I can brush, wash, blowdry, comb in around 1/2 hour.

I bought a single roll from pet deli today and it was about $5 shipping. I think if you buy the bulk (4 rolls from memory) you get free shipping...and most people would be buying the bulk quantity anyway - I'm only buying 1 this time because it'll be the first time she's tried it and just in case she won't eat it or it disagrees with her I don't want to waste the rest. Next time I will be buying the bulk/box. -

Keeping you both in my thoughts today - it's the hardest thing but often the best thing.

Don't forget your bones.... They're the main point of barf ;)

Oh yes, I'm so impressed with her atm. And then from one extreme to another *sigh* She needs to get her tummy sorted out. We're going to start small to introduce bones now Mana, The plan was for Pix to hold the front end while I did the back end work. I was trying to convince Pix to swap, but she wouldn't....wonder why

Oh bugger, I'm crying at work. The amount of love you felt for your boy is reaching out to each and every one of us sweetie. you didn't kill him, you set him free. It is the greatest gift of love any of us can give our furkids - to let them go in peace and love and release them from pain. There was a reason he came into your life, just like there is a reason he left it so soon. You just may not be able to see that for a while. Enjoy your new puppy, but don't feel guilt over your tears. The new puppy will never be a replacement - the heart has many pieces and each piece can belong to another, and the more pieces we lose, the more the heart generates, so we will never run out of love for those we choose (or who choose us) to share our lives.
