  1. Update TB!! Betcha at work already though, leaving us all here worrying Bad TB!!!
  2. And people wonder why others go to BYB's and pet shops rather than registered breeders and rescues.
  3. I am so sorry Staffy-Lover. Harry sounds like and amazing, beautiful boy. As a lover of Russian Blue's, I know how majestic and loving and special they are. RIP Harry.
  4. Dave, I'm sorry mate. I know how much you adored her and she you. You have my most heartfelt sympathy mate. Have a few beers - you know she'll still always be by your side.
  5. Oh, that is tragic Becky. Thanks for the photos though Poor Oscar. I hope you gave him something yummy for dinner (for the next like, 3 years ) The dogs look good though
  6. There are a couple of threads on this active in health atm. You may want to do a search in there for more info I personally use Sentinel Spectrum (tablet, monthly, does all worms inc heartworm + fleas) and preventix collar for ticks (changed monthly)
  7. Griffster, my deepest condolences honey.
  8. Seasons can be managed. Don't leave her unattended in the back yard, keep her inside the house if you have to go out. This stops her from jumping over fences etc to get to males or males getting in to her. Let her out for potty breaks etc. I'm not experienced with seasons at all, but this is advice I've seen given prior. hopefully someone with experience will arrive soon to answer you Edited to add, I was too late, Jbbb has already posted ;)
  9. Rusky, did you even bother to read the whole thread, including all the information the OP gave? I don't think so.
  10. If the vet wouldn't tell her anything about the condition, how did she find out it was corona virus? Technically, she has received a refund for the pup and the 'breeder' took the pup back for treatment, so cannot ask for anymore. I would be reporting it to the canine council of the state however. Emotionally, it is devestating for your friend I hope this doesn't make your friend give up on registered breeders. The good ones far outweigh the bad.
  11. Yeah, watch your kids with her, when she gets rambunctious (which is normal) redirect her with a toy. She needs to learn to be gentle with the kids (and vice versa). Use baby gates to separate them when she's especially bouncy. She is just being a normal puppy.
  12. Be careful with those plug ins - they can cause fires. Turn them off if you're not in the house. No vac is great and I'm so going to try that spray
  13. Min thinks the fish oil capsules are a treat
  14. Just catch the cat when it's there and hand it into the council. If it's a "stray" as they claim, then no harm done right?
  15. Edited because first statement was made as a gut reaction, after thinking about it, I go with statement below instead of the one deleted In A, ingredients 2, 3 & 4 make up ingredient 1 in B anyway, and there is more protein in B than in A while the carbs are the same, Price WOULD be a factor though i.e., if B was 4 times more expensive than A, I might trial her on A to see how she does and if she and I are happy, then we'd stick with it. To me, there is not 4 times the difference between the products to justify the price.
  16. Better to be safe than sorry My mum has just moved in with us and even though I'm used to it now, she panics when Min starts up again.
  17. Foxy, I'm in Cairns and my girl has been panting since we arrived here in Winter It's the humidity. She had just gotten used to it and now it's warming up. She won't do it consistently, but more than she used to. Even when I don't think it's particularly humid, she feels it more. It's not stressing her though and she's happily doing everything she used to so the vet said not to worry about it.
  18. I'd check with your vet labdevotee - some ingrediants can react badly if they are doubled etc so I would never advise on meds I do not know about. My vet gave the goahead for my program before I started it and I wouldn't change/add anything to it until I got another opinion. The collar you can get from http://www.vetshed.com.au
  19. Sentinal covers all worms including heart worms. I find the Preventix collar really good and I live in a high risk area for paralysis tick. With Advantix, to cover normal ticks it is every 4 weeks but HAS to be every 2 weeks for paralysis ticks. So if you don't, you aren't covered.
  20. I find advantix quite expensive as you have to do it every 2 weeks to cover paralysis tick. Sentinel Spectrum is a tablet given once a month (I do it on the first of the month so I don't forget) and change the collar every 6 weeks (it's supposed to last for 8 but I like to be safe). Sentinel is around $50 - $60 for 6 months worth and the collars are around $8 each. I buy online from priceless pets & vet shed. I find this the most cost effective way to keep my girl safe.
  21. I currently use Sentinal Spectrum to cover fleas/worms etc and Preventix collar to do ticks.
