Moo turns 10 on the 26th and we're having a doggy party. The dogs are getting carrot cake with no icing (no nut cake too). Just a small piece each. We'll eat the rest of the cake (with icing).

I'm so sorry Tilly RIP Big Boy.

Anyone got instructions for snoods? I'm hopeless - but willing to give it a go. Figured this would be an easy start.

Ambervale - please accept my condolences and if appropriate pass them onto Page's family. Heaven has another little angel tonight. Thank you Page for the gift you gave so many, just by being you. Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there; I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow, I am the sun on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there; I did not die. Mary Frye

Crating outside will not help the issue as he will still have the stimulus that is causing the problem now. Most landlords, even pets outside only, will agree to crating a dog inside at night - the dog is not free in the house, he is in his crate, therefore no mess etc in the house which is what landlords worry about. Laundry is a good alternative as every laundry I've seen is bigger than a crate, can be blocked off, tiled or laminated floors etc. However, some dogs do chew at doors etc and cause damage so a crate is better for these dogs. People recommend crating indoors simply because it works. Even the most unsettled dog will usually settle within a couple of days.

Major Surgery For My Little Dog
tramissa replied to montall's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I get health insurance for myself. I don't consider myself a piece of merchandise. Why would someone give up their entire breeding program on a 'maybe' from someone they don't know who admits they're not sure? You admitted that you tried to get a 'cheap' bitch to use as the foundation of your breeding program. Did you ask about health testing etc? See test results? You state that this problem should have been obvious, therefore should it not have been obvious to you prior to purchase? Caveat Emptor. I do feel sorry for your bitch, and I do think that the breeder, once the problem is actually identified, not supposed, should chip in to help out with fees. -
I like Aloveen so much I sometimes use it on my own hair
-
I use a mix of aloveen and plush puppy's herbal whitening. I then use aloveen conditioner (small amount on the coat after towel drying) and finish off with squirt. She smells divine for about 2 weeks.

In Regards To Destraint Therapy Topic

Melissa, welcome and thank you for coming on to explain. It certainly does sound like things were blown out of proportion, however, I do wish you could view the post that started all of this. It was about kicking the dog down the stairs to land on its back, slamming the dog in a door and performing a very aggressive alpha roll on the dog. Certainly not what you, nor Chris, have described. Perhaps if the truth was given in the first place, instead of a mess of exaggeration and mistruths, none of this would have occurred. I commend you for having the courage and fortitude to face the people here and explain your side of the story. I do hope you stick around as there are a few trainers here who, while they may not always agree, do bounce ideas and theories off each other. For the rest of us, this is invaluable information! -

Yup, I am interested in the trainer's side. I want to know how much of this was exaggerated, or even made up completely. -
She's so cute!!! Love the ears. So tiny. Also loving the foot. I thought it was real (where Beannie is attacking it) in the thumbnails until I clicked on the bigger pic.

I'm so sorry Feef Run free 'little' ones.

Try another vet. Call and speak to them over the phone. Would you accept a dr's diagnosis on you or your child if it didn't feel right? Then why accept one for your pet? A 2nd opinion will not hurt and may save. A dog needs to toilet more than once in 24 hours. If she's not toileting (and you need to keep an eye on her to know for sure), then you have a problem.
-
I hope you're back at the vets With an obstruction, you don't want to give anything to eat as she will need to undergo surgery. Also, any food etc will just get 'stuck' as she can't pass waste. Most of the times they will show signs of being in discomfort - i.e., trying to go but failing, or gut pain, but not always. Vet is definitely where you need to be, especially as it's now been about 24 hours. Hope everything is okay with her.
-
Has she been number 2 since she ate it? Is she still eating/drinking/acting normally? Personally, I would be taking her back just to make sure of how much it had grown since 10 hours ago. At least call the vet and tell him about the 600% expansion and see what they say.p

TB, I get it shipped to Cairns - 13.5kg bag = $79 plus about $15 shipping. Not too bad really. That's from Paws Only. Also recommend the Natural Pet Foods Australia who will ship as well.

Feed it raw - chicken mince, if pet mince, will contain some bone which is not good cooked (although will probably be okay as it is small, but wouldn't take the chance). Plus, cooked meats lose a lot of the nutrients dogs get from raw meat, so it is better for them to have it raw. If she likes the mince, you may want to try her on chicken necks and wings Her teeth (and her) will love you for it.

thank you. Wish I could do more.

It is the rainbow bridge poem from http://www.rainbowbridge.com Thank you.

I couldn't think of anything to do to help, but I wanted to honour them both in some way.

Thank you everyone. I hope Warls and Xcel like it. May be something to show Luci one day. Boxa, it was the song that made me think about doing a movie - my cousin was playing it on her laptop and I was sitting listening to it and all of a sudden images of Pyro and Sarah started flashing through my mind and I started bawling. Have been trying to do it ever since then.

Thanks - there's a few things that I'd like to fix now that I've seen it on YouTube, but not bad for a first effort I think. Warley - I did it in movie maker and can forward you the project file if you want to play with it.
