  1. Where're the kids? Sleeping on the floor?
  2. Can I ask what you feed her as a regular diet?
  3. Oh, and normally 10 to 20 people come to each meet, so it's not daunting.
  4. I didn't know what Lightroom was either a few months ago! It's software from Adobe, like Photoshop but for photographers. Really easy to use. The photography group started on Meetup.com. There's two good groups on there, "Creative Photography" and "TWIP". Creative Photography is now on Facebook which is easier for me. Meet ups are as and when, but generally there's one a fortnight. In the past we've done early morning CBD and Lake Monger, the Pride festival, a car show in Swan Valley, sunsets at Trigg etc. There was one at the Pinnacles a couple of months ago. On Saturday it's the fireworks at Hillarys. The TWIP group had a great theme earlier this year for Perth Street Art, which included a couple of large prints and an exhibition, all for $70 - I learnt so much with that, and the organiser Jim did a couple of free training sessions on Lightroom. Carmen, the organiser for Creative Photography is pretty talented, as are some of the others. Most people are learners of various abilities, so it's a great way to learn even if you know nothing about your camera. Recommended :)
  5. Good stuff :) It's a great group, we're mostly beginners but there's some talented people in the group. Might see you Saturday then (not sure if I can make it, but I go to most meets).
  6. My dog was very stubborn on the lead. She would pull in all directions, at times so hard I was afraid she would choke herself. I found a very simple solution which has rectified the problem completely. I threw the lead away.
  7. Are there any other symptoms? I'm assuming she's not in any pain or nauseous? Has her diet changed recently, any medication? Lot's of older dogs shake. It may be neurological, but it might be a virus or infection, from eating toxins in her diet or a blood/salt imbalance. I'd get another vet's opinion as some potential causes would be better treated now than later.
  8. Great, you can see the improvement. Also have a tinker with the exposure, highlights, and shadows to lighten it up ;) I'm a member of this photography group in Perth. I've learnt a lot in the last 6 months: https://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/458778260931527/?fref=ts Next meet is in Hillary's for the fireworks on Saturday night.
  9. Great food Have a look at Pure Foundations for puppies, it's a simple formula ideal for dogs with sensitivities.
  10. What's she eating? Has she had a change in diet?
  11. Yes yes, looks like I've been hacked... by the dog. Cheeky
  12. If she's a good weight and active then that's a good sign. As said, perhaps she's coming into season or it might be the heat. Get her a blood test if you're concerned, or it might be a dental problem? Is she more inclined to eat the raw food than the kibble?
  13. I'd rather be indoors cowering than out in a storm taking photos
  14. I shed a tear reading that beautiful tribute. Rest in peace Indy, and sorry for your loss Malamum
  15. I had blow-in insulation done at the start of the year and fitted sun blinds. Last summer it was baking hot in the house as soon as it hit 30. Last month I splashed out on reverse cycle ducted as I didn't want to suffer in the heat this year, but so far I haven't needed to use it. I have the blinds down in the day, and when I get home I find the house is really cool. I really want it to heat up just so I can use the aircon, but alas it hasn't been necessary! I fitted a locking deadbolt to the backdoor so I can leave it a few inches open (worked out a lot cheaper than a cat flap for the cat). The dog's happy outside during the day, she has shade, plenty of water, and can run around a bit. Aircon won't produce CO? Evap definitely won't, it just blows hot air through a wet filter.
  16. I love walking in the rain. In fact I probably walk the dog further in the rain because it's great down the beach in the wild weather, and she loves it too. But I think you need to put yourself first with the chemo. Your dog shouldn't mind missing the odd walk because of bad weather, so just throw some balls down the hallway or something :)
  17. Just noticed you're in QLD, you probably don't get much evaporative aircon there because of the humidity - it cools the internal air and blows the hot air out the window. Works well in dry climates and is really cheap to leave on all day. Does the wall unit work on a thermostat? Can you set it to come on if it gets over 28? Some units have settings to "regulate heat" or do "cooling only". If it's set to regulate heat it goes through a cooling then heating cycle which is much less efficient and costs more, so always set it to cooling only... if you have it. Depends on the unit (I'm not an aircon expert). How hot does it get in the apartment? Might be better fitting black out blinds etc to keep it cool in the day?
  18. What kind of aircon have you got? Evap can be pretty cheap even if left on. You won't need it super cool.
  19. Upping the expose will help too. Underexposed images keep much more detail than overexposed, so I bet you can get that beach scene looking really good really easily. I tend to lower the exposure on a lot of photos then bring them back in Lightroom.
  20. I usually experiment with Sharpness/Noise Luminance in Lightroom - Set the Sharpness to about 70, then adjust Noise Luminance to approximately 30. With a darker photo you may do better with less sharpness, so have a play around. This is a bit lossy as it's on Facebook, but you can see the sky is a fair bit smoother. I took that on a Sony RX100 cybershot, so you're off to a better start with your 70D:
  21. My dog licks the walls  Beats me why she does it.
  22. Unfortunately it's the breeder's prerogative and they're running a business. The other person may've put them on the spot giving them a definite sale whereas you were uncertain. Best to move on and be excited about finding another puppy?
