  1. Fingers crossed that he settles and sticks You are wonderful as always for giving him this chance
  2. they are always super busy when they open. I think his chasing days are well over but he does have a nice set of teeth for his age, so of course the safety of your puddies needs to be paramount. :)
  3. generous as always DM :) I put his coat on myself when I returned him to his kennel, I also double checked that he had lots of blankets to snuggle in.
  4. lots of healing vibes sent your way. Goodness Zig, stop giving your poor mother grey hairs.
  5. His info card says "owner is too ill to care for", really wishing I had taken the time to ask alot of questions now
  6. Let us know how you go. As long as he is definately cat safe, I think you would love him. :)
  7. I dont have much info atm on his background, but he should be too rickety to cause much trouble. His listing says ok with cats and dogs This is his adoptapet write up: http://adoptapet.com.au/animal/animalDetails.asp?animalType=3,16&statusid=3&regionID=7&task=search&tpage=1&animalid=295631 OK with cats? Is that the green lisiting and how is that tested? He could possibly live out his days here. No heater, we have a wood fire Els has always wanted a greyhound and we have soft spot for the oldies I dont know about his history unfortunately I can certainly call tomorrow, he may have lived with cats before as he is housetrained. The shelter would only take into consideration past history and do a walk up to the cattery. He is a lovely old guy WP, poor babe was ready for a laydown after his short walk to do the pic. I imagine this winter will be his last

  9. and while we are talking greyhounds the shelter also has this pretty 5yo male available soon. Due to the intervention of a work-experience student this boys planned terminal blood transfusion was cut short and he was surrendered for rehoming. This is Lokey
  10. I met this lovely old gentleman today with the unlikely name of Dog Shoesmith at Somersby RSPCA. While he isnt in danger of PTS this poor old dear needs to be out of the shelter ASAP!! He is bewildered and sad, the shelter is no place for such a rickety old man. He needs a warm cosy place to rest his bones, and while he has lots of blankets and a coat the shelter is far too cold for this old man. I can help with transport if needed within an hour of the central coast. This boys adoption fee is a very negotiable $100.
  11. sorry to high jack the thread a bit. rspca somersby has an almost 12yo Greyhound now available for adoption. I will go and meet him tomorrow (well today) and get pics.
  12. possibly kennel cough. how long after the flight did the cough develop?
  13. I'd report that. I personally wouldn't want someone like that working in the legal field and representing my generation. Especially bad taste considering one of their much loved volunteers has just passed away in tragic circumstances. BAD taste unfortunately that fundraising opportunity isnt being let slide either. Surely there is a time to stop rattling the tin.
  14. I missed this. Rest easy Herbert for you were well loved.
  15. http://au.tv.yahoo.com/plus7/rspca-animal-rescue/-/watch/17053816/tue-7-may-series-4-episode-23/ tears here . so bittersweet to see all of those gorgeous faces. And you didnt look like a crankypants Jed, just someone who has fought a huge battle and come through it. Ps have you asked for copies of their unused film? It may be something you want to leave in the past though.
  16. my boy bart did this when I first got him. The burst eardrums and chronic ear infections he was suffering from at the time had alot to do with his reactions.
  17. I actually think that appyling for grants especially local government ones would be a worthwhile task, it is usually a problem of getting volunteers who have the time and ability to take on the task of writing a good application. Do you know anyone who can help in this area Loreley?
  18. Aww RIP May. now at the rainbow bridge where there is no pain, just friends and love and lots of juicy meaty bones. Thankyou to everyone who made her feel safe and loved in her last days.
  19. ok I will bite $100 donation or 2 weeks quarantine at my place. Im not in a position to cover vet bills though.
  20. http://www.petrescue.com.au/groups/10411?listings=active Try contacting GSD rescue for Rosie.
  21. Its nice to see RSPCA working with rescue and acknowledging the benefits that it can bring. Great work as usual Iggy Rescue
