How Can I Find Out Who Bred My Chi
gillbear replied to crazyboutdogz's topic in General Dog Discussion
If your dog is chipped and the owner listed on the papers is not your BF then you may find that legally your pup belongs to someone else. -
Bumping this thread so we can remember the beautiful Roc.

Reminds me of an ad I saw yesterday for a litter of xbred pups. The seller was thoughtful enough to provide a pic of mum and dad dogs in a tie as part of his ad.

Sounds to me like they mean that the pup comes with copies of the parents papers.

Horrible item in the news. Hunt for gunman who shot 100 brumbies near Tumbarumba http://www.news.com.au/national/hunt-for-g...i-1225815802606

Your dealing with a whole history of unknowns including a heap of learnt behaviours and experiences behind him. You need to get someone professional to guide you properly. In the meantime I would keep going with what you are doing, but muzzle and leash him when you need to get in his personal space. This will give you confidence when you are closely handling him, the last thing you will want to do is be tentative. I would guess that by your description you were probably bending over him at the time which would be very intimidating.

I am facing a similar issue. To say the least it has been a shit year. My Gillie has cushings . Gillie is a poorly bred 8 yo Pekingese, who I adopted from the RSPCA 5 years ago. His joints were shocking to start with and adding the effect of this disease is devastating. Due to this and other existing health issues I have decided not to treat the cushings. Gillie is being kept happy and comfortable until the time comes. My thoughts are with you.

And that doesnt scratch the surface on what a wonderful dog she was. Rottweilers were always one of my dream dogs. I wasnt meant to have Abbie, since I was taking a "rescue break". Abbie came from Renbury and was sick. Sydney Pound + Summer + sick black and tan dog = highly likely Parvo. I fell in love with her by her pound pic and promptly drove 2 hours after work to get there 1 minute before closing on her last day. The plan was to quarantine her then rehome or she would be euthanased if Parvo positive and the quarantine yard would then be shut down. Seriously she wasnt going anywhere from the first day, even though it took a little while until I could admit it to myself. She even cured my mum of her terror of the evil and dangerous "Rockwheelers". Thanks guys for your thoughts, it means alot.

Dog Meet / Photography Idea...type...thing
gillbear replied to iltby's topic in General Dog Discussion
Have you thought about doing some volunteer rescue photography? Either via rescue groups eg at the Londonderry kennels or visiting a pound eg Hawkesbury. It is a great way of getting heaps of practice with lots of different dogs (and cats). A huge plus is that your work can also make a huge difference to the animals chances of getting new homes or rescue. Talk to the Pound List team or a rescue group like DCH. -
This little bubby was purchased just before they disappeared from the Central Coast with money stolen from a rescue. Who knows where he is now? I wonder how Brooke and Zac will feel about their mummies actions? So does Steve still work at the Bathurst races Narelle? Is Cena your cat still with you Narelle or has she been left behind too?

Well after looking at the pros and cons, I ended up using my regular vet since I trust his work and I could get her operation done quickly and avoid additional damage to the joint due to delay. Abby had her op yesterday (new artificial ligament) and stayed in overnight since GA's always knock her around. I picked her up first thing this morning and she is looking happier already. Her injury was due to trauma and thankfully there was no sign of disease in the joint, the meniscus was intact which is good. So she will be on strict rest for the next couple of weeks and then will start rehab after a review. Thanks for all of the advise.
