  1. My thoughts too, especially if he isnt trained or socialised.

  3. Thankyou guys. Today has been an awful awful day tragically losing our beloved Gillie. Gillie came into our lives 6 years ago from Somersby RSPCA, we knew instantly that he was the dog for us. Gillie was an irreplaceable heart-dog who has left a massive hole in our family. Gillie loved everyone and went through life with an unshakeable belief that everyone loved him. It was always hilarious when Gillie would greet a new dog, walking up to them in a bubble of complete bliss "ooh I love you", the other dogs reaction was usually a stunned variation of "what-on-earth-is-that!!!" One of Gillie's favourite activities was to get clipped. As soon as he heard the clippers he would run up and beg, then he would lay back in bliss when it was his turn. I took him to a grooming class once and the teacher insisted that he must have a heart condition, he was doing such a good job of looking unconscious . Gillie was the reason that I started rescue all those years ago and his legacy will go on. Miss you Gill, forever wouldnt have been long enough.

Look for me in Rainbows Time for me to go now, I won't say goodbye; Look for me in rainbows, way up in the sky. In the morning sunrise when all the world is new, Just look for me and love me, as you know I loved you. Time for me to leave you, I won't say goodbye; Look for me in rainbows, high up in the sky. In the evening sunset, when all the world is through, Just look for me and love me, and I'll be close to you. It won't be forever, the day will come and then My loving arms will hold you, when we meet again. Time for us to part now, we won't say goodbye; Look for me in rainbows, shining in the sky. Every waking moment, and all your whole life through Just look for me and love me, as you know I loved you. Just wish me to be near you, And I'll be there with you.

  6. queue fundraising requests from Lost dogs home.......
  7. It could also be a result of the severe worm burden. The initial worms may have been enough, but if there wasnt a follow up worming 10- 14 days after the first dose then you have a compromised pup plus heavy worm burden plus dehydration. A fatal combination.
  8. 3rd vote for the vinegar. Also make sure the floor wash that you are using is not ammonia based.
  9. so glad the girls are back. this adventure will make for some interesting registered names... **** lost then found **** honey I'm home **** sleepless nights

I can see it being a case of the burden of proof falling to the owner to be able to prove that the dog isnt pitbull. no DNA or registration = no dog.
  11. As a part of this shelters continuing aim to improve the enrichment and adoption rates at the shelter they are looking for volunteers to help with implementing an Open Paw program. This is a great opportunity for anyone who would like to help animals in need while also gaining great experience with a multitude of breeds and crosses. This simple but effective program helps the animals to learn skills eg. sit and greeting people calmly etc. As this program is only just beginning at this shelter, they are especially looking for confident handlers who already have some obedience training experience. Please contact the shelter: http://www.rspcansw.org.au/shelter_repository/central_coast_somersby A little info on the program here: http://www.ndn.org.au/files/SummitProceedings/Open%20Paws.pdf
  12. Were your two other dogs that the RSPCA seized a healthy weight? http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/223401-hello-from-melbourne/page__p__5398217#entry5398217
  13. I would get a DAP defuser and some tranquil paste or similiar. Rescue Remedy is another option. They are all very effective and will help her to settle. Try not to fuss over her and keep things as normal as possible around the house.
  14. On the central coast you are talking about either Charmhaven or Gosford Pounds. It isnt likely that either of these pounds would desex the dogs inside the mandatory holding periods without the owners permission, which is at least 7 days even without them finding the chip. Charmhaven have a VOLUNTARY desexing program for owners reclaiming their strays.
